"Hold on, everybody, hold on! Let's hear what they have to say. Who is your master?"
Tomas then directs a thought to the shard, still lying under his sheets mere feet away from the assailant.
"Can you hear me at this distance? Did you hear that person talk about a master awakening?"
The master knows your location. His forces are already on the march. Surrender.
Then, the shard instantly appears in Tomas' hand. The creature sees it and rushes toward you, with one arm outstretched.
Give me the shard! It screams fanatically.
This is very bad. If the enemy has risen it is years ahead of schedule. It should not have been able to break through its bindings for another decade.

To the investigative Sovelin, he asks, "Recognize anything?"
He then peers intently at the glowing shard in his hand that these assassins seemed to want so much.
No one knows its name. Not even my former master. It is known as the destroyer of worlds. It wishes to bring about the eternal order by destroying all life and reanimating it as the living dead. I have no idea if it is the same master as the one these blood clones were created by. Yes, I recognise the spell used to create these creatures. They require large amounts of blood usually taken from sacrificial victims. They are primarily used as assassins. If you could unmask one of them we could find out who created them as they would all have their creator's face. No one should no that I exist save, so this is very troubling. It leads me to think that perhaps this is the work of my master's ancient foe. My creator was a very powerful wizard Titus Scientia Maximus. He managed to "defeat" this destroyer of worlds by banishing it from the material plane. However, he could not kill it, and the banishment was only temporary. It should have lasted three thousand years. That time is almost up. It should be free to enter this world in eleven years and seventy two days.
Later, during his monologue, he asks Spring off-handedly, "Oh yeah, so you know how to banish the Destroyer, then?"
During the pause, "So, what makes up a worthy wielder? We've got to find one for you quick so that you two can stop this Destroyer."
"Uh, right. How about we help Lena clean up this awful mess? For me, I'd like to patch up these wounds and, as Herod suggested, sleep and heal a bit."
Whatever the group does, Tomas follows along. When Lena leaves and the four are alone, Tomas begins to tell them many things in the early hours of the morning, before heading to bed.
Spring was made by some powerful wizard called Titus Scientia Maximus about three thousand years ago. At that time, Titus banished some nameless evil from our world. Its goal is to destroy all life and then turn it into unlife. So we'd all become skeletons or something. Apparently, it's called the 'Destroyer of Worlds' since no one knows its actual name. And this Destroyer is now coming back in...
Tomas looks down at Spring for a split second, concentrating.
"eleven years and seventy-two days. I don't know if Spring was made before or after this banishment but it was made for the purpose of holding Titus's knowledge so that someone worthy of wielding Spring could maybe kill the Destroyer once and for all, something Titus was not able to achieve in his lifetime, or at least be banished again. ... Now that I'm saying it out loud, that's a really big deal. Jeez.

As for the things that attacked us, Spring says that they come from a spell that requires a lot of sacrificial blood and are used for assassination. Next time they attack us, we can figure out a little bit about who created them if we manage to unmask them. Since they keep the face of their creator as their face, for some reason. Since whoever made these things knows about Spring, it could be that they are working for or with the Destroyer.
Now, when we met you two, Herod said something before about his own magical trinket and that they somehow meant we ought to travel together. So, do any of you have anything to share about your magical items? Can they talk to you as well? Are they in any way related to this Destroyer or the magic of unlife? Even if it's just something you guess but can't prove? More importantly, are there going to be killer creatures coming after us, not just for Spring but for the things you are carrying too?"
