All seems too quiet and Shadow is almost convinced that the barn is empty, but she hears the slightest creak in the wood overlooking the other end of the barn. Could be a wild animal, or it could be something less benevolent.

Gongar will move up with Shadow into the entrance to the barn. As he see's the giant stone head he is intrigued by such an odd object being there. If he doesn't sense any danger he will move closer to investigate.

As Gongar moves closer to investigate, he doesn't see anything at all until a trio of ghouls drop down around him, all trying to bite him through his heavy armor.

Gongar must make two fortitude saves. The first is a DC 13 save vs disease (outlined below) and the other is a DC 13 save vs paralysis for 3 rounds[ +- ] Disease: Ghoul Fever
Disease (Su) Ghoul Fever: Bite—injury; save Fort DC 13; onset 1 day; frequency 1/day; effect 1d3 Con and 1d3 Dex damage; cure 2 consecutive saves. The save DC is Charisma-based. A humanoid who dies of ghoul fever rises as a ghoul at the next midnight. A humanoid who becomes a ghoul in this way retains none of the abilities it possessed in life. It is not under the control of any other ghouls, but it hungers for the flesh of the living and behaves like a normal ghoul in all respects. A humanoid of 4 Hit Dice or more rises as a ghast.

Gongar's hammer smashes the first ghoul, throwing it to the ground, dead once more. His second hammer swing takes another in the chest just as Shadows steps up and stabs it in the back, ending its un-life.
Urthask and Arktos charge the last one, piercing it through the back. The lance explodes out of the ghouls chest and Urthask raises it up in the air, keeping his companions out of its reach until its death throes end. He then drops it to the ground with a sickening thud.

GAH, filthy undead. I should have know better than to rush into dark spaces such as this with undead lurking about. He looks at his companions, Thank you my friends. I appreciate the help.

Gongar is able to tell that the stone head was once a masterful work, but the years and elements have not been kind to it and it is in pretty bad shape.
Looking through the barn, Urthask doesn't find anything of value or any additional clues.

After his inspection of the stone head doesn't yield anything of interest he turns to his companions, We should clear any other undead from this place. I would prefer not to be surprised again if we can avoid it.

Moving up to the house, it is in a terrible state. Claw marks mar the outside of the home and a horrible smell of death lingers around the house. The door barely hangs in the frame, as if it was ripped off and then haphazardly shoved back into place.
