Urthask motions towards the manor and leads the group that way.
Mar 22, 2019 5:45 pm
Viktor puts his bow away and straps his shield on, following Urthask to the manor.
OOC:
Is the front door visible and is it closed? Also, are there windows in sight?
Mar 22, 2019 6:48 pm
As you approach the manor, the path continues straight to a set of double-doors and branches off to the left toward another set of doors. There are numerous windows in the building, but all of them are obscured by thick curtains.
Mar 22, 2019 7:55 pm
Urthask rides up the path, dismounts, and knocks heavily on the main doors with his mailed fist.
Mar 23, 2019 10:59 pm
Urthask knocks on the door and waits, but there's no response other than an eerie silence.

It would seem we are unexpected here. Hetris says, with a quirked smile. Perhaps a song could lure them out?
Mar 25, 2019 3:25 pm
I have the sinking suspicion that the only thing we will find here is the dead... Walking or otherwise. Can your songs draw them out? Gongar hefts his hammers and nods to Hetris.

Let's see if one of the doors is open, shall we? But quietly. Viktor will try open a door and move inside stealthily, if possible.

Knowing his limitations, Skriz places himself squarely in the middle of the group and remains as quiet as possible.

The door creaks open ominously. The sound of the house straining and creaking gives this long, high-ceilinged room an additional sense of age and decay. The place smells damp, the unpleasant tinge of mold lacing the air, as surely as it stains the wooden floor, walls, and furniture in pallid patches. Moldering trophies hang on the wall to the northeast: a boar, a bear, a firepelt cougar, and a stag, yet they pale in comparison to the monster on display in the center of the room. Here crouches a twelve-foot-long creature with the body of a lion, a scorpion's tail fitted with dozens of razor barbs, huge bat-like wings, and a deformed humanoid face.

There are two doors in the room, a hallway leading further in that you can't see well past the statue, and stairs leading up to the second floor.

OOC:
You can roll perception too, to see if you notice anything odd
Mar 27, 2019 8:28 pm
Flail and shield at the ready, Viktor gives Gongar and Urthask a serious look and steps inside. What is that thing?

Hetris thinks on the creature, to see if she can remember anything of the beast.

Hetris and Viktor recognize the creature as a manticore.

Viktor, as he looks around, catches the scent of burning hair and flesh for a moment and then it's gone.

Urthask and Arktos briefly hear what sounds like sobbing from somewhere upstairs,
Mar 28, 2019 3:30 pm
"It sounds like someone upstairs needs help!" Urthask says, pointing Arktos up the stairs.
Mar 28, 2019 3:38 pm
Who in blazes has a giant manticore statue in their entry way?! then hearing Urthask exclaim someone might still be alive in the house Gongar's face goes serious and he nods to his companions. We might still be able to save someone from the evil that infects this place.

He will follow Urthask upstairs.

You move up the stairs and come to a hallway with many different doors. You can no longer hear the sound of sobbing.

Arktos sniffs at the first door. Urthask listens. Hearing nothing, Urthask moves on.

Wait, it could be the dead calling us to join them. How long did you say this house has been abandoned? Ten years? Twenty? I am hesitant to trust pleas of help in such a place as this. Be on your guard.
