Beeton - You can see that the bell tower has a ladder leading down into the cathedral. You are unsure if anyone injured would be able to make it out this way, but it gives you access into the building.

Bacta - you spot a curious sight, as the undead hoard against the building some zombies are starting to climb on top of the others.

All - Tixhin ponders over the suggestions, The ship could potentially carry a few hundred people. How we will get them onto the ship I am unsure of though. Getting the ship to the roof is not an issue, but the street. He points at the steadily growing hoard around the building, I think the street is out of the question.

I'm not very heavy either, and I think the two of us won't be too much to help the injured ones to get up the bell tower.
I say this while I look though my backpack for several things. I take out a sack, then another one, a hammer and pitons. Anyone got a solid rope? I think I left mine... down there.

I think for a couple of seconds, apparently trying to find the best of several option in my mind... I think we could drop the merchant ship thing for now. As a member of the City Watch, I'll have some authority and trust down there. And I think trust is what they need, right now. What do you think?

OOC:
Do we see any signs of the living? a place to start?
I have 50 feet of rope, but this situation looks more dire than i originally thought. Is there even hope for survivors?
Nov 20, 2018 2:19 pm
I too have about 50 feet. Perhaps Miss Sharpeye and I are lowered to the roof. We begin to file the survivors to the roof as you gentlemen tie us a rope ladder? I can start that ladder as we lower the ship towards the roof. He rushes to his pack and pulls out the rope, beginning to knot it as he returns to the group at the window.

Bacta assists with creating a rope ladder.

All - you successfully create a rope ladder, and Tixhin positions the ship near the bell tower. Looking at the hoard below Tixhin shudders, Do be careful, maybe scout out beforehand?
please let me know who all is descending the bell tower.
OOC:
hope everyone had a great holiday weekend

Ink looks out the window at the groups of undead. Are they...? They can not be....Are they climbing on each other!? An alarmed look crosses his face as he turns around.

He must hurry. There is not much time. He walks to the door, attaching the rope ladder before tossing it down. He crawls down the ladder to the roof and calls down the bell tower to the potential survivors within.
We are friendly, decending the bell tower!
He glances up the ladder quickly, motioning to Beeton to follow.
OOC:
Not a holiday here in Canada but it was a lovely weekend none the less.

As Eldobik reaches the bell tower, I follow him down the rope ladder. I then look of a way to go up and down from the bell tower.
OOC:
I'm envisioning some kind of stairs, or at least a solid ladder. Do I find those?
Also, no holidays here in France but the week-end was unusually busy with friends.

Bacta will remain at the top and train his crossbow on any undead within range to try to keep them at bay.
OOC:
Been busy...holiday weekend was too short.

Beeton & Eldobik - The ladder leads to a small landing, The only way to continue is a spiral staircase leading further into the Cathedral. After several rounds you come out into an unlit silent hallway branching to your left and right.

Both the spiral stairs and ladder are old, but very well constructed and maintained.

Bacta On over watch of the zombies you observe them slowly massing on the building, you figure they may reach the roof in anywhere from an hour to a few hours. The pile up is not coordinated, the progress is rather slow.
If you would like to attack you can... with the mass of zombies you wont miss.
If you would like to stay on over watch, please roll Perception and Insight(only if you don't attack)

OOC:
If there isn't any immediate danger than I will just keep watch.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+4)

(18) + 4 = 22

Insight - (1d20+2)

(2) + 2 = 4

Ink steps down the ladder cautiously, he listens for voices or any other sign of life. If not he pauses in the intersection to wait for Beeton and confirm which way to go, or if they should call out again.

Bacta - Observing for several minutes you notice a pattern. The undead are dragging away bodies of town guards, in addition to any that seem to be armed, or armored. The remaining dead eventually rise and join the growing mass below. You are unsure what possible use the undead could have for those dragged away, but you do notice that none of the zombies swarming the building have any real weapons or armor.

Eldobik - You strain to listen and can only make out an extremely subtle droning hum. You can only catch slight moments of the sounds, and you are unsure of which direction they come from.

I join Eldobik down the ladder and advocate for calling again to avoid any accidental shot at us. If he agrees, I'll call by presenting myself as Beeton Shareye, investigator of the City Watch and protector of the citizens of our beloved city.
Then, if any answer comes, I'll show the way and take the lead (if it can be done) to make sure that I'm the first to appear to the poor terrorized survivors.

Ink nods and follows the woman quietly.

Beeton & Eldobik - You call out... no response returns, save for the nearly imperceptible droning hum from before. The hallway extends to the left and right which do you choose?
OOC:
It appears that campeador won't be able to play. I was thinking for the time being continuing as a 3 player party.

OOC:
Whichever you decide is fine with me
Dec 22, 2018 1:59 pm
OOC:
it works for me also. Thanks again for all of your patience with me and being so busy lately guys!
Eldobik points to himself and then the right hallway, plastering a quizzical look on his face.
