Good thing I already had to write this :)

Summary:
The party was all at a festival called the week of remembrance for various reasons. Marcus arrived for a ritual that the church was going to perform with several relics. As the service were commencing two cloaked figures, a brute of a man and a woman, disrupted the event and stole said artifacts. To cover their escape they turned an untold amount of people into undead to cause chaos, and slip out unnoticed by the guard. Marcus was paired up with a stranger that was slated for execution by the church to help him recover the relics. Malphas was this man, with him and his paladin guard, Lysander, they chased after the two. In their pursuit they gathered several people who seemed willing to help. A gnome monk Eldobik his gnome friend Tixhin, a Half-elf ranger Bacta, and a very odd old wizard Nornin. These people helped them get out of the city and track down the two who were attempting to flee in airships. The Venetores chased after the thieves downing the airships, but all five of them died in the process. The party splitting up, half traveled to the last airship finding a horde of undead. They held their ground, till the appearance of a ghostly bone dragon. At which point Malphas used a strange magic to get Bacta and Marcus to safety, staying behind to do what he could. When the party gathered back up at camp and returned all they found was the area decimated, covered in ash, and Malphas's two swords on the ground. Bacta found a trail left by several elves and two humans, and they continued their chase. Eventually, they found the two thieves and the elves that accompanied them. The woman, who was revealed as the necromancer, Killed the paladin Lysander and ordered the elves to capture the party for a sacrifice to an entity she called father. While she teleported to a newly arrived airship the second ship set down to retrieve the prisoners. Malphas, somehow survived the undead with only a scorched and useless arm. Charged out of the trees with six tendrils of shadow extending from his back and a single downward stroke he launched hundreds of feet skyward to the escaping airship. Eldobik attempted to talk the elves out of their hostilities but were clearly under some mind altering effect, and the party was forced to kill them. Some sort of magical battle occurred on the airship leaving three elves who had plummeted to the ground along with one of the stolen relics and a black crystal.

Now the party is left with an airship, that the wizard might have just broken, to continue the quest for the relics.

Seeing the halfling tied up, Bacta reaches into the crate and removes the gag. "Are you ok?"
OOC:
Is the halfling breathing? Male or female?
Jul 31, 2018 1:42 am
Eldobik stares at the egg for a moment frozen in shock. Oh... Marcus! What just happened!? He places the gem in his bag and gingerly picks the egg up, cradling it to his body. There was a light, it surrounded us, and Preta simply evaporated! This is all that was left!

At Tixhin's call Ink would follow him.(assuming this would be after the conversation with Marcus finished. Otherwise it would continue as they walked.) Oh! He gasps as the crate swings open. Are they alright!

"Can anyone unlock these chains? Do you see keys anywehere?" Bacta looks around while keeping one eye on the halfling to see if she stirs.

The halfling you discovered in the crate is covered with dirt like she was dragged and thrown into that box with little care. She wears a well used but nice padded leather armor and her right eye is covered with an maladjusted eye-patch that lets you glimpse an old scar. She's got a visible bruise an her left chick and some dried blood on her lower lip. She remains calm, but her eyes are filled with rage and she's looking at you with a steely gaze.
[ +- ] The halfling
They don't look like the others. They look... concerned. I take a second to observe the new faces, wary of anyone I don't know after what happened. As they ask the question, I answer slowly, still emerging from this strange lethargy. 'Feel like I just wrestled with a boar. I'm as good as you can be after what they did to me, though. Now, will you help me out of this box? I'm no commodity. Saying that, I raise my hands and shake the shackles.

Eldobik - Marcus looking surprised gives a shrug. Gathering up the paladin Lysander, he begins the trek home.

all - Searching around the ship, you find a stool next to a small table is a key ring with several keys on it. After several attempts you find the right key for the shackles. Tixhin, hip deep in a crate, starts tossing metal components out. Wiggling out and upright with a smile he holds a indistinguishable metal part from the others. He quickly runs off into the back.
Aug 5, 2018 8:24 am
hello there, my name is Niv Fazor Nornin. I’m never home on a sunday. The old man pats the halfling on the head before he turns and walks out of the room and heads back to that stool they found. He groans loudly as he sits dovn.

Ah, thank you for freeing me.
As I slowly stand up, I rub my aching wrists and look around. It looks like we're in some kind of ship, or maybe a strange warehouse. Then, going back to those who freed me from my uncomfortable room. Some introduction would certainly be appropriate if I don't want things to become awkward. That's when Niv presents himself and pat me on the head.. As he walks away I shoot him a look so cold that is a fire elemental would get a cold from it.
The name is Beeton. I am an investigator working for the peace of our great city, Thanos. Would you be nice and tell your friend not to die that again? I won't tolerate such disrespect again.
Now, would you excuse me? I have to inform the authorities of an upcoming attack against some precious relics. You wouldn't know anything about it by any chance?
I ask that as I already start to look around for my bag et weapon.
Aug 6, 2018 1:45 pm
"I believe you are too late to warn anyone." Bacta flashes the halfling woman the Shield Marcus gave him, "Do you recognize this? Do you know who is behind this attack?"
Aug 6, 2018 8:45 pm
What do you mean I'm too late? Did they attack already? They still had hours, if not days, of preparations! Then Bacta show me the shield and my eyes widen. Where did you get this? I don't think it is supposed to be left unwatched like this. Did... Could you tell me on what happened in the brief moment I spent in the crate please?
Aug 7, 2018 2:06 am
Unsure of why he was even involved in the events that have unfolded, Bacta just shrugs and turns away from the halfling to find a place to sit and rest for awhile.

"Someone tell her what’s happened. I’m tired. "
OOC:
Would like to take a short rest and spend some time investigating this shield relic Marcus handed me as well as use a hit die or two.

Hiding the egg in his bag, not taking a risk in having it thought a relic or something dangerous. He turns around smiling to the halfling and begins into his side of the story. How the spider contraption became alive in the alley, following it through the street, running... Literally.. Into this group and realizing we pursued the same people. The small heavily tattooed frame slumping as he describes the death and loss they suffered already. And thus we find ourselves here with you.

I listen carefully what is decried to me like I'd listen to the report of one of my fellow inspectors on a case I have to take. I try to examine every piece that this inky gnome is describing as if it held the key to solve the puzzling situation we ended into, trying to put two and two together and finding matches with my own story. But as he ends his story, satisfied of what he narrated I sigh, apparently disappointed.
I'm... Hu, not sure how our stories connect or if the even do. Something remains unclear to me though : who are these you pursuing, and how do they relate to the black shield you just showed me? Maybe this is where our stories connect.
Aug 8, 2018 11:27 pm
I mean, there's an obvious connection in the fact that you and I are here, and the fact that you have in your possession something I was trying to protect from the noxious plans of some organization I uncovered.
I say that more to myself, trying to figure out what is going on, than to you. But still, I look at the tatooed gnome in the eyes and continu ... but that's not what I was talking about. Are those you are chasing related to the... hum at this point I hesitate, suddenly afraid to show how much I know and don't. I address the end of my sentence to the half elf with whom I started this conversation:well, to this organization I mentioned.

As a matter of fact, it seems like you faced the same foes I did.
I take some steps out of the box and and inspect the crates that have been prepared for my saviors. At least, you didn't end in one of their crates. Then I realize something, quickly look back to the party and count the boxes again. Either there is more of you keeping watch outside or they planned on capturing other people.

Eyes going wide in realization that we are moving and assuming it's the old man, Ink bolts down the hallway towards the direction he thinks the cockpit is. After several steps down the hallway he groans in pain, keeling over gripping at this collar bone gasping for air. He groans again and grabs at his head with his other hand leaning on and sliding down the wall.
After the moment passes he pulls the collar of his shirt down to reveal a large black smudge of ink. His eyes roll in annoyance and he get back up, walking with more purpose and a gait like that of an off put politician, mumbling to himself as he goes.
Aug 13, 2018 1:39 pm
All - The same moment that Eldobik stumbles, Bacta's dagger gives off a flash of light. Eyes rolling Bacta collapses to the floor. suddenly the ship lurches into the air, you hear Tixhin from above deck, Whoops, she seems to be working again.
With that the vessel gains altitude quickly stopping hundreds of feet from the treetops. You can hear Tixhin's feet pounding across the deck. Soon he is below, he opens his mouth to speak, but pauses noticing Eldobik's predicament, My word what did you do? He pries his eyes away long enough to spot Bacta on the ground, I do say what is happening down here?
Aug 16, 2018 2:25 am
Ink follows Tixhins gaze to Basra and his eyes go wide. What IS going on here!? Are the rest of you alright? He rushes back to Bacta and attempts to rouse him. Come along friend, we cannot lose you as well, come along. He checks for breathing and then gently shakes the man by the collor of his shirt, getting gradually rougher and if there is no response he will proceed to back hand his cheek.
Aug 19, 2018 1:09 pm
Eldobik - You can feel Bacta slightly twitching in your grasp, but does not respond. His cheek turns an angry red from your backhand. After several minutes his eyes slowly open looking confused.

All - The now conscious Bacta seams dazed, his eyes are unfocused darting around wild. Tixhin quickly pulls a vial from his satchel popping off the lid he wafts it below Bacta's nose. After several moments his eyes clear and his movements steady.

Bacta - You awaken to Eldobik and Tixhin standing over you. Your nose stings with every breath and one side of your face burns. The two look at you with concerned faces.
Aug 19, 2018 5:36 pm
Bacta shakes the cobwebs from his mind before finally speaking. "I think I just received a vision." Bacta begins to tell his allies what he saw when he fell unconscious.

"There was a titanic metal gate and all around were banners and robed figures. The banners depicted the same three headed serpent that was on the note. A stone altar in front of the structure sat seven crystals: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, and black. One of the figures reverently collected them, connecting them together forming one solid piece. Energies swirled in the gate forming a portal, from this one gargantuan serpent head poked through, then another, and more. Soon dozens hung in the air eyeing the multitude before it. The host of serpents cleared the portal revealing the body they were all connected to. The monstrosity seemed to pause to take in a breath, suddenly all the eyes snapped open and carnage followed. Every time one of the snake heads opened its mouth a swath of destruction magic was released. I was then jolted into the sky, farther than any bird or airship could go. I saw an orb of blue and green more enchanting than anything I had ever seen before hanging in the blackness all around me. A fire spread across its surface consuming the five green masses and then the blue leaving nothing but a black orb."
Aug 20, 2018 12:22 pm
After gathering my possessions while Eldobik was taking care of his passed out friend, I approach to listen to what is being told.
If I was too late to prevent their theft, I want go ahead and prevent the upcoming disaster.
I take a second to assemble my memories in one consistent course of actions and begin to tell what I've discovered. In the merchant district, I've uncovered a meeting of a "small cult" that was referred as the Cult of the Serpent. They are not, I believe, that small. They might even be the largest criminal organization I've ever heard of!
Does "the Skaamor" speaks to anyone? I thought it might be a reference to either some kind of pre-cataclysm entity, or some recent construct they'd be trying to bring to life.
Cult of the Serpent, Skaamor, multi-headed monstrosity, crystals, portal... What you —what's your name again?— just described seems to match one of these theories.

Eldobik kneels quietly beside Bacta and listens to both stories with a concerned face. Do... Do any of these theories involve someone called little mother? He rubs his collar bone as he says the last of the sentence. I too had some sort of a vision, though mine was more just voices within my head. I wouldnt have mentioned it butits appears Bacta here may be the other disciple these voices mentioned.
Aug 20, 2018 3:07 pm
I close my eyes to focus on what I heard or saw in that warehouse or on the way to the crate where the party found me.

All - Tixhin corks the vial storing it back in his bag, I wonder Ink do you know whose disciple he is? Though, it sounds like we have more questions than answers. On the bright side, we have a fully stocked ship. She isn't the most powerful, but she is fast. From my calculations we could make it to Finngard or Zigan, any preferences? he awaits for a destination patiently with a beaming smile.
Aug 22, 2018 2:42 am
"I’m no ones disciple. That may be the only thing I am sure of right now. That woman though, I wasn’t sure if she was acting like she knew me or not. This blade..." Bacta pulls the bone dagger from his side and displays it to the others. "I spent the majority of my life in the jungles of Arbelladon. One day I stumbled upon a cave. I entered the cave that morning and in an instant," Bacta snaps his finger, "I was standing with my back to the cave with this dagger in my hand and the sun setting in the distance. Ever since that day I’ve had a nagging urge to come to Thessalon, specifically the city of Thanos. I searched for the cave but could not find it again. This dagger is connected to all this in some way. Do you recognize it at all?" The question directed at Beeton.

"Where would we go? What leads do we have to go on to figure lol this out. Should we return to Thanos and speak to the church?"
Aug 22, 2018 2:49 am
Ink casts his eyes down and shrugs, I heard two female voices, one called me her only disciple and did not approve of my tattoos. He pulls the collar of his shirt down to show the black smudge of ink as he continues. The other told her that I must adapt or die... And she called the first one little mother while telling her that I was with a disciple of hers... The second voice rather...
I do have an idea of where to go...though, you advised against it earlier, it also gets us no closer to finding any answers to our current predicaments. Are we able to see the other vessel? We could make chase. He looks hopefully at the older gnome.

"You wish to blindly chase after these people? They nearly killed us all with seemingly little effort. First thing we all need is some rest. If we can somehow track them safely, without them noticing us, then, maybe.
Aug 24, 2018 1:02 pm
I don't even know you, but if some external input is welcome then I'd say that I agree with your elvish companion. It sounds rather reckless to chase those who almost killed you all without a sweat.
I then walk to Bacta and offer him some of my biscuits. Those biscuits aren't much, but it currently is the best I can offer to thank you for getting me out of that box. That, and my help if you are to look into that cult. Taking one of the biscuits, I crouch and quietly whistle a very high-pitched sound. Seconds later, a cute weasel jumps from behinds a crate and take the food before she climbs on my arm to settle on my shoulder. Here's Slinky, by the way. She's sneaky and clever, but she has a weakness for cookies. I say with a tender smile.

All - Tixhin shrugs, I'm not sure we can follow at this point. Their heading would be directly to the lost lands. I assume they intend to throw off any pursuit by changing course to Zigan or Finngard. Looking for some time at Bacta his eyes suddenly brighten, Well we have the shield, you have that nifty dagger and Malphas's swords. Eldobik has a few things as well, if we headed to my lab in Zigan we might be able to identify some of these... Maybe get some answers before we finally decide what to do? Tixhin looks like a child ready to burst with excitement, but poorly containing it, eyes wide hoping for some support to his proposal.

Zigan, been awhile, "I’m good with that plan. Before we leave Thanos though should we make contact with anyone? Is there anyone for us to make contact with? I feel like we have so little to go on. I suppose your lab is as God’s a start as any. "

These old ships are severely lacking. he turns a bit dour looking concerned, Do we really want to just hand that over to the holy empire before we find out anything about it? We were looking for the other two... could be useful in the recovery of those as well. You can easily tell he adamantly wishes to learn all he can about the shield, But, I will differ to the group should everyone be in agreement. Defiantly should set down well out of sight of the city, if we do go back, and we should be on the lookout for dragon riders. In two days they will have called in several units to patrol.

Eldobik & Beeton - you grasp the lesson well, soon you are able to operate most of the ship without too much trouble. Tixhin nods at you approvingly, as we go I can cover basic maintenance of the ship.

Bacta - No matter how many times Tixhin explains the ship to you, everything seems to confuse you more than you were before. After a frustrated sigh, he leads you down below deck near the back of the ship to a small room. Inside is a stove, cabinets and a few pots, Well, this is the last thing I have. Can you cook by chance?

All - After the lessons are over Tixhin pulls a book from his bag, So we need someone to operate the ship while the other two keep an eye out. I think I should take inventory of what we have here. As it is dark out we can move now to the city, or wait until morning?

Fyi: If anyone was wondering Nornin climbed into one of the magic crates and is fast asleep.

Yeah, I should be able to handle that. Bacta shakes his head, a little embarrassed. I suppose I can help keep watch as we travel as well.

All - Tixhin nods, I'll lower the Preta and we can drop the anchor. We will continue in the morning. Bacta if you could follow me for now. He turns and goes to some boxes below deck.

Bacta - Tixhin's friendly demeanor washes from his face, I'll be frank, we need to disguise you. I have noticed you trying to hide that Elven heritage of yours, but you could pass as a Zigan elven worker. Not glorious mind you, but it wont raise any questions unlike... he trails off just looking at your clothing, have you been to Zigan before? The box he opens has some plain, rough, workers clothing inside.

Actually, yes, I spent my childhood there with my parents. Bacta takes a look at the clothing and picks out an outfit with Tixhin's assistance.

Ink nods and turns to the woman, Perhaps you could try whatever you had in mind for the exterior of our transport once we land? I could help you with that, though first... He gestures towards the cockpit, Shall we bring her down? Pausing for a moment. nicely.

You can feel that I am hesitant as I slowly answer Bring her down? Maybe I can help, yes... You'll need to explain a few things again, though.
I'm not sure the mark of the City Watch would be of any use as we decided to... pose as a merchant ship. But I should put on a disguise before I come to drive that vessel, and I think you should too. We must be ready if some kind of control comes to us as we land.

I think we mentioned costumes being in some crate? I'll go check out if there's one that fits me and put the thing on, over my leather armor.
I'm also trying to remember names that could be useful as we reach Thanos, like some major merchant or anything that could ease some of the suspicion they might have toward us.

Bacta - Tixhin looks impressed, this might be to our benefit. After assisting in the outfit selection he steps away cataloging the cargo.

Beeton - you are able to find a outfit, though a bit mismatched.

You recall a pair of merchants that you helped some time ago, Reidar Blackendbeard and Ixion Flavius. The dwarf Reidar is a partner in the Flavius crafted goods, They primarily sell dwarven crafts but use Ixion as the face of the company being he is human. Given that you probably saved their company, they are most likely to be a favorable choice.
OOC:
Going to be posting a new subforum for party inventory. Tixhin's list of what the ship has will be located there.

Nodding as Beeton speaks, Ink follows and begins to search for an appropriate disguise. The thought occurs to him however that he has his own set of skills that he could use and throws on some clothing that interests him instead. I am a Tattooist, perhaps a traveling tattooist wouldnt be a far leap? He exlaims as he pulls a dressy jacket over his shoulders. Mayhaps I should prepare a room as my disguise instead of clothing. He steps towards Tixhin, Is there by chance a room on board that would suffice as a studio?

I am so sorry everyone, I recently found out that I have been accepted to a new job and have been rediculously busy preparing for it. Things have calmed down now for me to be able to post again. However I fly out for 6 months of training starting in December and will have less time to post again. That being said, I will be able to post but my posts will be mostly confined to weekends. All - You easily coordinate lowering the ship together. With the ship secured, you all settle in for the night. In the morning you awake to Tixhin running through a ship checklist. With a satisfied nod he starts the engine begins the short trip to the city. The trip, though relaxing, is strangely uneventful. Other than birds you have not spotted any patrols or signs of activity. As you approach the city of Thanos you easily spot that the city is not right. From your vantage point you can see mobs aimlessly roaming through the streets. The gated entrance nearest to you sits agape one of the doors, broken from its hinges, rests awkwardly between the wall and the ground. Your ship slows Tixhin digs out a spyglass, I don't think this is good.
Nov 2, 2018 4:26 pm
Looking up from his current drawing Ink blinks through his glasses at the other gnome. What is not well my friend? He rises to his feet and walks over to the window with Tixhin. What coarse of action should we take? What are those people doing down there?

All - Tixhin shrugs to Eldobik, Looks like the large groups are sometimes chasing down individuals in the streets. scratching at his chin, I am unsure what this could mean, but I presume it has something to do with those monstrosities we dealt with. If that is the case, that would mean there are a few thousand down there.

Bacta you sense that there is undead present.
Nov 5, 2018 2:13 am
Bacta nods in confirmation, Yes, it would seem the city has been overrun with the undead. Are we prepared to clear the city? That seems to be what we should do right?
Nov 5, 2018 3:08 pm
Readying my blades and adjusting my armor, I run to the window to look at what's happening to my city! Of course that's what we should do! Quick, everyone gets ready!
Does anyone let me watch through his spyglass? I'll try to spot anything that would look like a noticeable pattern in the undeads' moments, or see what place appears to be in need for our help.
Nov 5, 2018 7:15 pm
I do not want to tell you that you are wrong my friends, however, that is a whole city worth of undead. We are only a handful of bodies against thousands. Perhaps the best we could do at the moment would be to close the city gates, walling the undead inside. Thus we contain the issue until we have a bigger force with us that we could take back the city. He begins to twirl a pointed metal stick with ink stains on one end as he speaks.

What about survivors? Lets try to get closer to the city and see if we can spot anything...the undead shouldn't be able to reach us from here.
Nov 6, 2018 9:57 am
Does it look like some zombies got into the city, or is it more like the whole city has been turned into zombies?
Nov 6, 2018 2:36 pm
I do not wish to leave the survivors friend Bacta, I however do not see much likely-hood in our surviving if we rush into the city. Perhaps we scout the city from our Airship as we move around the city closing the gates, should we see survivors we then attempt what we can to mount a rescue. The metallic stick twirling elegantly between his fingers, Ink begins to Count the number of gates the city has. I'm concerned that there may have been a number of the undead that escaped the walls before we got here... if that is the case we will have this problem on a far larger scale.
Nov 6, 2018 8:05 pm

All - Circling the city several times you are able to grasp the dire situation. The undead have nearly overwhelmed the city, you observe several people who are cought by the horde witnessing their gruesome demise, only for them to join the unholy mob minutes later. The worst of the city is the Cathedral. All the doors and windows are blocked, but the entire building is swarmed by undead trying to break in. Tixhin looks appalled, This cant be right. There is no way something can spread like this naturally.

Everyone roll perception checks (Beeton gets a temporary +2 to this roll.)
Nov 13, 2018 10:20 am
As I notice the cathedral has been barricaded, I quickly deduce that there must be people to rescue in there: The Cathedral has been used as a shelter by survivors! They need our help, can we park the ship over it and help them out ? How many people can this ship carry over, like, a mile?

While that's a good start, no kid, elder or injured people could climb up that rope without help. I start to look a little bit desperate at the perspective that, while we are safe and near them, we could be unable to save most of those who need us down there...
And then an idea pops in my head: How about a large and solid piece of cloth? We attach it to some ropes and people get in that giant sack. It will be uncomfortable as hell and people will walk on eachother's head, but it's only for a short distance. We'll land at a reasonable but safe distance outside the city. Maybe they can even help to close the city's doors!

Beeton - You can see that the bell tower has a ladder leading down into the cathedral. You are unsure if anyone injured would be able to make it out this way, but it gives you access into the building.

Bacta - you spot a curious sight, as the undead hoard against the building some zombies are starting to climb on top of the others.

All - Tixhin ponders over the suggestions, The ship could potentially carry a few hundred people. How we will get them onto the ship I am unsure of though. Getting the ship to the roof is not an issue, but the street. He points at the steadily growing hoard around the building, I think the street is out of the question.
Nov 19, 2018 3:20 pm
I'm not very heavy either, and I think the two of us won't be too much to help the injured ones to get up the bell tower.
I say this while I look though my backpack for several things. I take out a sack, then another one, a hammer and pitons. Anyone got a solid rope? I think I left mine... down there.

I think for a couple of seconds, apparently trying to find the best of several option in my mind... I think we could drop the merchant ship thing for now. As a member of the City Watch, I'll have some authority and trust down there. And I think trust is what they need, right now. What do you think?

I too have about 50 feet. Perhaps Miss Sharpeye and I are lowered to the roof. We begin to file the survivors to the roof as you gentlemen tie us a rope ladder? I can start that ladder as we lower the ship towards the roof. He rushes to his pack and pulls out the rope, beginning to knot it as he returns to the group at the window.
Nov 21, 2018 2:46 pm
Bacta assists with creating a rope ladder.

Ink looks out the window at the groups of undead. Are they...? They can not be....Are they climbing on each other!? An alarmed look crosses his face as he turns around.

He must hurry. There is not much time. He walks to the door, attaching the rope ladder before tossing it down. He crawls down the ladder to the roof and calls down the bell tower to the potential survivors within.
We are friendly, decending the bell tower!

Beeton & Eldobik - The ladder leads to a small landing, The only way to continue is a spiral staircase leading further into the Cathedral. After several rounds you come out into an unlit silent hallway branching to your left and right.

Both the spiral stairs and ladder are old, but very well constructed and maintained.

Bacta On over watch of the zombies you observe them slowly massing on the building, you figure they may reach the roof in anywhere from an hour to a few hours. The pile up is not coordinated, the progress is rather slow.

Bacta - Observing for several minutes you notice a pattern. The undead are dragging away bodies of town guards, in addition to any that seem to be armed, or armored. The remaining dead eventually rise and join the growing mass below. You are unsure what possible use the undead could have for those dragged away, but you do notice that none of the zombies swarming the building have any real weapons or armor.

Eldobik - You strain to listen and can only make out an extremely subtle droning hum. You can only catch slight moments of the sounds, and you are unsure of which direction they come from.
Dec 13, 2018 11:39 pm
I join Eldobik down the ladder and advocate for calling again to avoid any accidental shot at us. If he agrees, I'll call by presenting myself as Beeton Shareye, investigator of the City Watch and protector of the citizens of our beloved city.

Eldobik & Beeton - The man bolts up at your voice, poorly attempting to look inconspicuous. He begins to stutter, Br..br..brother I .. uh.. he pauses for a second seeming to think over what you have said, Safety... on the roof? Wait, are you from outside? not a member of the Clergy? He remains at the door peering down the dark hallway trying to spot the speaker.

My friend, I need not explain to you things that are not of import. Remove they self to the roof. He call around the corner.

Eldobik - You can just overhear him mumbling to himself, Bossy bastard isn't he. Lord have I not had a trying enough day? he slowly works his way down the far wall of the hallway, hand against it for guidance. Soon as he is able to see around the corner his stern expression relaxes when he spots you. He quickly glances down the hallway from the direction he came, clearly he is fearful of something. Standing some ten feet away, you can easily make out his shabby features. He wears the plain brown robes of a general member of the Clergy. His hair is short and black, standing just under six feet tall, he gives off an easy going vibe but his dark eyes have a certain sharpness to them, Well, lets get out of here. He makes a sweeping motion with his hand shooing you back the way you came. He remains on the far wall at the corner waiting for you to move. He doesn't seem to be aware of Beeton (to your knowledge)
Feb 13, 2019 12:14 am
Friend, remove yourself to the roof. her turns back to the door and pauses before looking back to the man. Leave your instruments of entry. I shall ensure the people on the other side of the door are not far behind you on the roof. And inform our companions up there that we will be along shortly.
Feb 15, 2019 6:58 pm
Eldobik & Beeton - He appears confused, people? All the prisoners were killed hours ago. I was trying to escape through the dungeon. On that thought, I recommend we leave. He looks frightened, If they find you we'll all be killed. As if summoned by his words the subtle hum grows until you can clearly hear it echo in the halls. You can make out the voices from the hum as they drone onward through their ominous dirge. The mans eyes widen in terror, Quickly, it's almost over. This is bad, Lord if you ever did care about me let there be the fastest dragon alive on this roof. He appears torn between running and not leaving you behind. His eyes scream their fear as they dart down the hall.

Feb 26, 2019 2:28 pm
The Cult of the Serpent, it's them! Quick Eldobik! We need to find a way to stop that summoning!! Whatever that Skaamor is, we cannot let them awaken it!
I look around as if there was a solution lying just for me to pick up, then ask a little roughly to the man that just talked: The undead, outside. Are they hostile to everyone? And then, turning back to my gnome companions: We need to either colapse that church on their heads or find a way to unleash the horde that creeps outside onto them. But how?!
Mar 2, 2019 2:59 pm
Ma'am I couldnt agree more that we should stop something like that from happening. However, from the sounds I believe we may be too late for that. He hurriedly glances back to the door.

Beeton & Eldobik - With a resigned sigh, Milady, one of them walked through the undead catastrophe to get here, and I'm afraid your little companion... pausing for a moment he holds his hand out measuring both your heights. He composes himself and continues, Your friend is all too correct. Even if we could collapse the church I fear it will be too little to late. I doubt anything we do can stop, or even slow that thing.

You feel the floor beneath your feet rumbling.

I hesitate for a couple of seconds as Eldobik pushes everyone toward the roof. We could try something... But a sudden rumbling, stronger than the ones before, shakes me up and brings me back to our very belicate situation. We are the ones that could get caught in a building collasping!
I wish we came in here ten minutes earlier... All right, it looks like we should run for our lives and plan better when we know what was summoned in here. Go, up the rope!I'll let the others go first, securing our retreat and making sure we didn't miss something important.

Your deepest fear sets in, the building could actually collapse. The man easily spots the ship hovering just over the roof, seizes the rope. With an agility you didn't think he had in him he ascends hastily onto the Preta.

Boop, I'm just going to continue.
All - Mere moments after you start your ascent with violent cracks and pops, the roof finally gives in. Several pockets first appear then the majority of the center gives way. Tixhin steers the ship away from the collapsing building. Pieces of the building drop into the crowd of zombies below, and a large ornamental statue breaks away smashing scores of zombies as it lands. Still pulling away from the building the rumbling soon stops. Halting your drift Tixhin eventually pokes his head out, That was a close one. I'm glad you guys made it out of there. Letting everyone catch their breath for a second, Well, where do we... He trails off looking back at the church, What is that thing? Drawing your attention you all see a single winged creature hovering over the church. Out from the caved in roof you spot a second creature then a third. Soon near twenty creatures swirl around the roof with more pouring out by the second. Some of them dive into the zombies tearing into them, feasting. Near a hundred creatures you eventually loose track of numbers. With a shriek then turn several diving at your airship. Tixhin turning into a dead run to the helm screams out, Guns, Use the rotary guns!

What are those?! I ask to everyone. Have you ever seen something like that?

Bacta - You remember seeing something similar in a book. They are said to be Odi, creatures born of hate, and when someone bears hate long enough it gives birth to an Odi in the realm of shadow.

Mounting the rotary gun it whines as it spins up, unleashing a hail of bullets. Spraying into the sky you manage to cut down 4 of the creatures.

Eldobik - All you can recall is they seem to be some kind of creature of shadow and hate.

Your gun kicks up cutting into the lead of the swarm, you cut down 7 of them.

Beeton - hopping onto the nearest gun, it roars to life, aiming for the bulk of the swarm you cut a swath through 81 creatures.

All - Tixhin guns the engines sending the ship lurching forward. Shouting for the helm, Keep them off us. Just in time for swooping at the ship. None of them manage to reach any of you, but several tear into the ship leaving gashes in the side and flank of the hull. Three of the Odi legs twist out of their bodies as they land on the deck. They move and start gnawing on the suspension cables connecting the hull to the balloon. More of the creatures pour out of the collapsed roof with no end in sight. The man you brought on board begins chanting hands quickly drawing out arcane symbols in preparation for some spell.

You can continue to fire your gun (same rolls D20 and D100) or if you choose to attack the Odi that have landed (All three are within a normal movement range each at a different cable.)

Be gone monstrosities of hate. Eldobik shouts as the creatures are shot. That's seven for me! Faster friend Tixhin. Eldobik continues his barage on the creatures.

I'll take care of the ones that get in. I shout, releasing the deadly trigger. Someone come with me and the others continue to shoot at them!!
With that said, I dash toward the unknown creatures that are gnawing on the suspension cables. Putting the shadows and various boxes that lie around, I attack the first creature from an unexpected angle, trying to find where it's weak points are with a swift rapier attack.

Movement: 25ft or so
Bonus: cunning action (hide)
Action: rapier attack + Sneak attack
OOC:
I assume I have advantage because I attack while being hidden. Rule otherwise if not applicable.

Eldobik - Getting the hang of the rattle of the gun as it unloads, you cut down 71 creatures in blaze of fire.

Bacta - Your bolt strikes true lodging in the monsters head. In a blast of smoke it vanishes your bolt dropping to the deck of the ship. Tendrils of smoke twist and contort wisping away in the direction of the cathedral. Echoing in its wake you hear a dark chuckle.

Beeton - Quickly stalking up behind the creature you appear to remain undetected. It's difficult to discern a weak point on the creature. The form of the thing does not appear to be as one, but a collection of shadowy pieces warping and shifting endlessly together. Striking at what you assume is the heart, you feel no resistance as your blade enters. Suddenly its form bloats and breaks blasting you with its smoky form. A dark laughter surrounds you, feeling your chest tighten as it threatens to overwhelm you. Roll a Charisma Check

All The man finishes his chanting energies swirl around him. Opening his hands he releases the spell, a sphere of energy radiates out from him striking dozens of creatures in its wake. The magic begins to take hold, nearly every creature in range is effected. Lights begin to pop off like fireworks as the creatures are transformed into chickens. The third and remaining creature on the deck drops down now a chicken that is roaming the ship. The man looking around confused scratches at his nose, That... was not supposed to happen. Reaching into his robes he retrieves a small book. He begins flipping through the pages mumbling to himself. Finally gaining speed the ship begins pulling away from your pursuers.
