My stats could be worse. Somebox did you want me to post for the (City) Domain so you can gander at it?

Just include it on your character sheet, but if you want to post here as well go ahead.

Both you and Cancerman's character can join in when you are ready. I am tempted to go the retcon route with Blaze/Potato's character, meaning the original members (and Cole) are going about their current business with no introduction to the MIA agents.

Full disclosure, I haven't read the IC thread under the assumption that I'd be newly-assigned, since I figured I wouldn't know what the original team was up to. I'll go over things when I get a chance so I'm at least aware of what happened.

I had jokingly referred to work, but that brought up the question of whether or not Lock agents have families. Would Jericho be considered a ghost in society like MiB, or would he have relatives?

somebox says:
Concerning playing "unusual" races: This is an ideal campaign for those kinds of characters, naturally it would seem easier to be a human, but I really don't want anyone to feel like their options are limited, more fun that way.

A little side note of my own: Lock has dormitories within its LA HQ, but also allows employees to live off-campus assuming they keep all information regarding their work secret.
@Somebox has been pretty open to us playing whtever we want so I imagine he won't object to you having a family outside of Lock, though if I recall correctly the other PCs backstories none of them have families. Rodrigo was a foundling, and has lived his whole life at HQ:
Quote:
Rodrigo was raised by Lock. He is told he was found in the dumpster behind HQ - whether or not this is true he has no idea but he has no reason to doubt Lock's leadership. As soon as he was old enough he began his training. He is motivated by his absolute faith in the organization and ambition to rise through the ranks.

Thanks for that. I'm still leaning towards having an expunged record of any public existence, just for convenience. That way, details of his life pre-Lock can be figured out at leisure.

I can see Jericho having an off-campus apartment. The public knows that he works at R&R Solutions as an IT Specialist, which often means long hours in the office and an irregular schedule, so he's not home often. However, he keeps his apartment clean, picks up his mail, and is on decent terms with his neighbors. Anyone that has been inside the apartment would easily see that Jericho doesn't host many guests with the sparse furniture, but he likes books as he has full shelves of everything ranging from literary classics to the latest mystery bestsellers; there's even a small section of romance novels.

For those that might ask, Jericho was never married and had no children, and at his advanced age he no longer feels the need for constant companionship and has settled into the lifestyle of a single bachelor content to live out the rest of his days in peace and quiet. He anonymously donates a good portion of his salary to various charities and community groups.

At Lock, Jericho is quiet, but amiable. He assists other agents in the archives with finding information or collating data to help investigations. He, along with other staff, work to build a database of the many creatures the agency encounters.

If Jabes doesn't mind, Jericho could be one of those who helped reprogram PROWL. That might build a party connection.

ok gimmie a few hours an i'll throw the cleric in here. :)
Dec 12, 2018 6:37 pm
@Cancerman No issue from me, everything sounds a-ok.

@Cavejohnson Sure, no rush.
Dec 12, 2018 6:53 pm
Okay, ready to participate when needed!

Now is an ideal opportunity for meeting Rodrigo and Prowl (who is now in NPC mode. I like the story connection with Prowl but I'll double check when Jabes comes back.), or alternatively you can wait for Cole to finish his interrogation.

I've caught up through the game. I figure I've been reassigned to the party by the director(s), at least on a temporary basis, to help with their investigation. Is there anything else I need to know (info about the characters, the job, etc) before I dive in?

EDIT: Full disclosure, I updated my list of known spells. Swapped out a couple of the technomagic spells for conventional ones from the PHB.

The party busted a pack of goblins who were hiding out in a diner without glamour, in addition to several hobgoblins. The plot thickens as questions about Ulgrik's superior come into play, coupled with the old man rescued from the diner. That's the absolute basic summary. The Commander of the branch doesn't seem too interested, but his niece Isabelle is your group's support. (speaking of, do you guys want a group name? I'm open to suggestions.)

@CaveJohnson Fish outta water. A cleric would be helpful indeed.

is almost everyone human?
in contrast how are the other species (tabaxi, orc/half-orc), elf/halfelf), dragonborn, etc.. ) Seen?
I'm leaning towards Half-elf as by i look moderatly human and hide the pointy ears. but ever since i've read the tabaxi, i've enjoyed them more then i probably should have :D

Also languages?
Are there specific xeno-language or "alien" language. or like Auran cover most wind based "aliens" and blah blah blah.?

also are dragon marks allowed?

Cole is Kalashtar, so he looks identical to humans.
Dec 13, 2018 5:58 pm
yea i looked into that :) Then theres the AI Druid rubot
Dec 13, 2018 6:25 pm
So looking at (Halfelf-drow) i don't have sunlight sensitivity. so whats the drawbacks for looking like a black human with pointy ears?
Imma just do human. variant :)

somebox says:
Some more details regarding Glamour: To the Janes and Joes (think I will use that term) it will render the user a normal human, they will retain body type and size, but all fantastical elements (scales, pointed ears, the works) will be obscured. To all of you it will be completely ineffective, but you will notice telltale signs when someone is using glamour, such as a strong smell or a glow in their eyes.
Dec 13, 2018 6:46 pm
Fantastical races use "glamour" which is a type of illusion spell specifically used to make their unusual traits look more human-like, or mask them completely. use of glamour is strictly enforced, and the method of applying are wide.

Languages are the standard d&d fare, less common speech can be covered by a more general language. (mostly for convienence)

Dragonmarks are allowed.

In addition you may forego one of your starting weapons with an appropriate firearm that isn't the Grenade launcher or LMG. This may vary from class to class however, so if there is any confusion please ask.

I have 200 gold left over from my initial spending to supplement my starting equipment. May I spend it on new spells to copy into my spellbook, using the rules in the PHB? That is, 50 gp for a 1st-level spell, 100gp for a 2nd-level spell, and so on?
