Once he was seated, Cole pulled out his phone and checked his messages. One possible crisis after another... and he wasn't the leader! He was about to see how good a communicator he really was.
*Keep us posted, Doc. We need to know where you are so we can get out of here quickly if necessary.* he typed back.
"Some curious entity is by the van. Spidermoon's moving to see what it does but he'll hopefully keep us apprised," he thought to everyone.
To everyone but Diaz, he though,
"Diaz is going to make some crazy bid to grab that sword. I'm trying to talk him down but be prepared for this to go left."
"Don't do this, Diaz," he thought to the would-be sword-stealer alone.
"If it's that important to you, won't making it out of here alive to have it also be important? We aren't even sure about our getaway van. You do this now and we'll get killed and someone will pry that sword from your rapidly cooling dead fingers."OOC:
I'm not sure if I've broken the communication action economy but there it is.
Not sure about using Persuasion against a fellow PC but, also, there it is.
