Hypco - Do you wish to place any particular restrictions on my Wild Shape list? so many creatures per rating?

The class I'm least familiar with is druid, what do you mean?

Druid Wild Shape is restricted to beasts of a certain challenge rating or lower. Some DMs require that druids have witnessed the animal before they can change into that beast, or restrict the animal to the specific natural environment the druid is from. However, nothing in the rules explicitly prohibits a druid from the mountains shapeshifting into a giant seahorse, so long as the CR is within the druid's level.

I think the main thing they're looking for might be whether or not flying creatures are allowed - a lot of DMs disallow them from a balance point of view.

Okay, that's what I thought but since I'm not all that in tune with druids, I wanted to be sure. I dont care, if your level and the book says you can do it, you can do it; even flying.

I think thats a lazy copout to disallow flying for balance reasons; especially at 8th level. Maybe at 1st, and that's a hard maybe, but at this level most of you have access or have/had the option to gain flight. Druids need to spend a slot to shift so they aren't getting flight for free. I don't know, maybe it's my inexperience, but I dont see any problem with allowing it. I'd like to hear everyone else's thoughts though.

Specifically I was referring to the list of beasts. If the list is open to any of the challenge ratings I am able to (which is CR2 thanks to circle of the moon) then great.

And restrictions on swimming and flying are built into the Druid abilities. I think it’s level 6 befire you can use beasts that fly and level 4 for swimming.

The additional restrictions are only what I've heard and read about; I've never had a druid in my games and I've never been able to play a druid at a higher level. People say that druids are overpowered because they can turn into a great ape or something and wreck the encounter, based on the CR.

I'm with HypCo. If the rules allow, go for it. As a player and a DM, I like to see other players go to their full potential. And, if it's a issue, DMs have all sorts of tools at their disposal to make encounters "balanced."

I’ve never played a Druid previously but do like their abilities. In XGE there are options in there for a starting list of creatures you can use wild shape with from when you start but by level 8 there are probably fewer beasts that you haven’t encountered vs have anyway.

Ok, should have done this sooner but Update: I'm still here, I promise. Weekends I will probably use as "break days", since GP slows downs during those days; depending on my workdays, I'll most likely be around for ooc and such but won't post any game updates. Monday was a busy workday for me and I didn't have much to push this forward. Tuesday was my day off and I spent it going to a game store and my intended "quick trip" turned into watching two games of Magic and playing one. HOPEFULLY today proves somewhat lax at work and I can get running again. To help put things back in motion:

If you had/have/want an alternative introduction, let me know so I can get back to getting that done so we can start.
If you're fine with the current introduction (king's request) or wish to "return" back to it, let me know as well.

I'm cool with whatever. I know I based my character loosely on the premise that the king (or his representative) would request aid, and someone chose Eliesannor. Whether that reason was based on the hope that her skills would suffice or to get her out of the way is purposefully left vague.

Long story short, she is a small noble half-elf with a cheery and polite disposition (as young nobles are wont to have), combined with a disturbing mindset conformed around a shadowy and dark power. Let the king make of that what he will!

That's fine by me too, I designed my character as the "definitely trustworthy advisor" type, which makes sense given the Shadar-Kai's whole deal.

I'm fine with the Intro as is, but am happy to go along with whatever the DM puts together. The story is intriguing and I'm sure whatever you come up with will be fun.

I am also okay with the intro as is. Tlannatar is not of noble birth but is in the king's employ however the DM sees fit. I think that is also flexible enough to still work even if HypCo decides to change the intro.

I’m good as the shunned relative of the king who steps up when the Druidic tribe is asked to send aid at the Kong’s request.

I'm definitely good with Graelmyrra being sent based on a request sent to the monastery by the king. Her group is frequently contacted to act as recovery specialists, assassins, and spies as it is. :)
