"We may have to-" Khurza suddenly falls silent, after a second she continues in a whisper, fearing the goblin will begin screaming again. "We could kill him, I'm not sure what alternative there is."
Mar 18, 2019 1:32 am
Jabari slides one of the goblin daggers into his belt.
OOC:
No one said not to, so I'll take one as a backup weapon.
"Is there any advantage to having him along as a hostage?" Jabari keeps his voice down, as well. "The eseku are not common where I am from. I don't know much about their customs."
OOC:
Jabari's not the one to make such a roll as an outlander, but maybe someone can try a Knowledge (Geography) check to see if Goblins care about getting their own kind back?

Whilst it is left to it's own devices the goblin, seeming a touch bored now the threat of imminent violence isn't likely, starts scratching at itself whilst it stares off into the middle distance.
OOC:
An average Knowledge (Adventuring) check would seem more appropriate in this case

Pomin thinks about it.

Rolls

Avg Adventure Know Check

1 Success, 3 Failure

Total: 2 Failure

OOC:
Nothing comes to Pomin's mind, anyone else want to try?
Mar 19, 2019 11:02 pm
Jabari tries to remember what he can about eseku back home.
OOC:
Gave Jabari a setback to account for his knowledge being related to his own lands. Apparently he knows something, but those 4 threats are troubling... :D

Khurza regrets not devoting enough time to a bestiary when she had the chance.

You engage in a quick quiet conversation over the risks of keeping the goblin alive. Jabari, you know that whilst goblins usually operate in groups they are at heart cowardly creatures and you are pretty sure that given the choice the goblin would flee rather than risk betraying you all. As you turn to study the goblin again however the patch of ground he was sat on is empty.
OOC:
That'll be the Threats used :) If you want to try getting eyes on it you'll need a Hard Perception test
Mar 21, 2019 3:49 pm
"Hey, wasn't he right there?" Pomin mutters looking around.
OOC:
Oh did going to be good. Eagle eye moment spotted followed by a Oh shit moment, plus I think I peed and poo'd a little we should run

"Damn." Khurza immediately dashes to Pomin, standing back-to-back with him while drawing her weapons as she prepares for a possible surprise attack.
OOC:
I'm gonna go ahead and not roll for this one.

OOC:
McNeils, Jabari was originally curious whether having the goblin along as a hostage would give us a bargaining chip with his tribe--Would they care about getting him back alive? Did anything about that aspect of their society come up in our conversation before the little bugger ran?
Mar 27, 2019 12:59 pm
OOC:
Any other insight on the goblin (my post above)? If not, Jabari will scan the horizon to see if he spots him.

OOC:
Whoops, sorry peeps. Thought I'd put an update on this a few days ago....my bad!

OOC:
You don't think they'd place any value on a fellow goblin being held hostage or anything similar. From what Jibari knows they only work in groups out of necessity or when a stronger creature forces them to do so.
As Pomin scans the terrain he quickly catches sight of the goblin running at full pelt in the direction of the nearest of the smoke trails. It keeps glancing back in your direction and as soon as it becomes aware you are aware it has escaped it picks up the pace.
OOC:
1 x Threat for it to be aware you know it's gone. 2 x Threats to put it at Long Range from you all. If you're going to pursue him I'll need a Simple Athletics check from everyone, will compare the results to whatever the gobbo gets to judge if it increases it's lead on you all or if you close with it. You can also try to do something to stop it but it is at Long Range.
Mar 28, 2019 2:04 pm
"Lets get out of his line of sight then circle around the long way. If they send a runner to the backfield we'll know they're organized... If we hurry we can isolate the runner informing of invaders." Pomin mutters watching him go.
Mar 28, 2019 2:23 pm
Jabari has already taken off after the goblin before Pomin utters his warning. The desert nomad has the goblin's dagger in his hand, ready to throw if he can close the distance.
OOC:
Jabari doesn't suspect an ambush, just an escaped prisoner.

"Coward!" Khurza also takes chase, wanting nothing more then to tackle the little annoying creature.
OOC:
If applicable I will use the advantage to scare the Goblin with the mighty shout, perhaps causing them to trip or run into a tree.

"It's a Goblin of course it's a coward..." Pomin states shrugging his shoulders and picks up their gear that they need before shooing off their departing companions "Best get back to the city before you get ambushed, be mindful of catfolk..."
OOC:
I figure I'll take a dagger and the arrows and give the rest to the people going back if they haven't left yet.
Mar 29, 2019 3:41 pm
It's attention torn between watching where it is trying to run and the individuals pursuing it means the goblin tracks a bit off course and begins having to negotiate through some rougher ground.
OOC:
Ok, how about 1 x Threat so that it's not quite heading straight to where it's friends are and I'll use the others to add some difficulty dice to this next check from the rougher ground it's run into
Whilst Khurza gains some ground with the goblin Jabari seems to positively fly over the ground towards the small figure. It makes a choked, terrified sound as they close with him.
OOC:
Jabari can move up to be engaged with it if you want (and can have a boost due to the Threats the goblin generated). Khurza is now at Short range to it and Pomin is at Extreme range

Rolls

Goblin Athletics

1 Advantage, 1 Failure, 3 Threat

Total: 1 Failure, 2 Threat

Mar 29, 2019 4:17 pm
OOC:
I'll spend my time trying to catch up even though I'm going the long way around to intercept while looking for more goblins.(If that makes sense)
Mar 29, 2019 4:20 pm
The years spent roaming the deserts seem to pay off as Jabari closes with the creature before it reaches a patch of rougher terrain. With goblin dagger in hand already, the man nearly topples into the goblin as he thrusts with the blade.
OOC:
Maneuver to engage with the goblin, stabbing with the dagger for my action (and taking that aforementioned boost die!) Will spend the advantage to pass a boost to the next character if the goblin's still alive; maybe they take heart that their new companion can handle a blade?

ETA: Forgot that the dagger has Accurate 1, for another boost. Rolling that now. Drat. Looks like 7 damage to the goblin.
