After you finish up negotiations with Lyle he quickly see's you out of the City Hall. "Once you have finished your task please return here and ask for me. I will be able to sort out the balance of your payment once you present some token to show the leader of the goblins has been dealt with. Good luck" he finishes with a smile as he see's you all out of the door.

You stand at the foot of the steps to the City Hall. The tree stump covered in notices stands to the side of you and you all are surprised to see how low the sun is sitting in the sky, several hours have passed whilst you were negotiating the finer points of your current contact.
OOC:
It's late afternoon at the moment so you have time to do any of the odd bit's of shopping we've already discussed and anything else you want to today. Up to you all whether you are heading out now or going to find lodgings for the night and set off in the morning.
Sep 17, 2018 1:59 pm
Pomin scans the board for anything that might be within the region they'll be going into as an afterthought. "Well ladies should we delve into the night or leave early in the morning? We could use a bit of the voucher possibly for a good night's sleep in a dry bed before we start things off for the march towards the goblins." he inquires.
Sep 17, 2018 11:30 pm
"I vote for that."
Sep 18, 2018 3:43 am
"Tomorrow at dawn we shall depart, which gives us time to drink today."
Sep 19, 2018 1:11 pm
"I'll make the arrangements I guess." Pomin states trying to find a moderate inn where there's good food and drink plus beds they will likely miss a few days into the march.
OOC:
Unsure if you wanted rolls or just fast forward to the next morning, Pomin will likely turn in early since a tired scout ends up as a dead scout sometimes.
Sep 21, 2018 12:24 pm
In short order you finish picking up the remainder of your supplies and find an inn just off of the edge of the market called The Laughing Gnome. Whilst nothing special the inn is comfortable and in short order you secure a few rooms and a meal for the evening. Taking your ease and as much wine or ale that you care to partake of you while away the few hours left of the day before retiring to your rooms.

The next morning see's you all making your way out of Dawnsmoor. As the city lacks walls you find the transition from walking among the streets of the city to the trail east along the Skyroad to be unusual to say the least. Other than a few scattered clouds the sky is clear and the day quite a pleasant one, perfect for travelling which seems to be a thought you share with the owner of a single wagon you can see some distance ahead who appears to have decided to set off from Dawnsmoor a good while before dawn.
OOC:
Up to you all how you're feeling this morning and how much you indulged the previous evening. All in you'll have had to pay 6 silvers each if you all wanted an individual room or you can split the costs if you wanted to share (one room will be big enough for all of you if a bit of a squeeze). A few drinks would be included in that but if you're character is really going to town feel free to knock a few more silvers off to reflect that.
Sep 21, 2018 2:00 pm
Pomin uses the joint funds they have in the coffers. Goes to bed after a modest meal and is up before dawn. His smirk and carefree manner change once they get on the road to actually work to someone with sharp eyes and a serious face.

Khurza decides to drink responsibly for the night, knowing in the morning everyone will need to be in top form. At dawn she gathers her gear and looks ready for the day ahead.
Sep 22, 2018 5:47 pm
Nya goes to bed early and is busy sharpening her dagger when the others emerge.
Sep 24, 2018 2:00 pm
OOC:
Could we say Prong is 'in the background' until we hear word from them again?
Oct 3, 2018 11:29 am
As you pass the wagon you see a single dwarf driving steadily along whilst puffing on a old looking pipe. Other than a friendly nod in your direction the dwarf doesn't react to your presence on the road. As you begin to out pace it Prong seems more relaxed than you have seen her since you all arrived at 'civilization', turning to you all she says she will range out to ensure nothing is going to surprise you all on the journey before loping off into the distance. Turning your minds to the journey ahead you make steady progress through the day.
OOC:
Ok, Prong will be about if needed/Mushroommage returns but if they're not back online within the next week or so I'm going to assume they're not going to be back and will probably look to fill their slot.

Could I get an Easy Survival check for the group as you're trying to navigate your way to where the Gobbo's are likely to be, you can have a Boost die for the map you're using and another as you're pretty much just following the road at the moment.

Oct 5, 2018 9:38 am
OOC:
Yeah was really just looking for one check for the group so Pomin's is fine
You quickly outpace the dwarf and his wagon and head on into the grasslands surrounding Dawnsmoor. Following the dirt track that you were assured is the Sky 'road' you make good progress through the day, passing the odd traveler making their way towards the city before you begin to think of making camp for the evening. Scanning about you spy what looks to be a comfortable site that sees regular use and a number of other travelers already seem to be settling there about.
OOC:
You still have an hour or so of light if you want to try and find a camp site on your own or you can approach the travelers here. They appear to be a mix of merchants and other folks you would expect to find on the road
Oct 7, 2018 12:45 am
Pomin will assess the travelers to see if they can be trusted if he doesn't have a sense of that yet, if they seem like decent folk he'll attempt to propose a joint camp with a night guard rotation.
Oct 7, 2018 11:29 pm
Nya follows along, likewise trying to ascertain if these are trustworthy folk (aka marks).
Oct 8, 2018 5:54 pm
Khurza will give anyone who is staring a little too much at them a mean glare, wanting to protect the team.
OOC:
If I need to coerce I am ready.
Oct 9, 2018 2:00 pm
As you approach the camp you can see three distinct groups.

The first is the largest and is made up of two heavily laden wagons with a couple of cook fires going. Around ten individuals grouped around them seem to be a mix of merchant types and guards, mostly humans with a couple of orcs.

The second looks to be a gnomish family who have a small wagon with what appears to be all of their worldly possessions.

The third is a pair of catfolk. They have positioned themselves at the outer edge of the camp, close enough to benefit from the safety such a grouping offers but far enough to afford some privacy.
OOC:
You can all make an Easy Perception check to see what you pick up whilst entering the camp. You know the usual way of things for these type of arrangements is for each group to stand their own watches unless they already know one another.

Nya - as you enter the camp you get an occasional friendly nod from the others there, especially the family, but do not pick up anything else of note. You do however pick out a spot for you to set-up your camp that is somewhat sheltered from the wind by the merchants wagons.

mcneils5 sent a note to Remnant
Oct 12, 2018 12:29 pm
Dropping off his pack at a camp location close but apart from the other three groups Pomin's goofy good nature peeks out a bit.

"Well looks like we're fortunate we have a spot with a bit of a wind block from the merchants." Pomin states plainly with a smile.

Stroking his face he says in a more quiet tone for them to pick up as being closest to him, "Merchant's guards I think got complacent and are sneaking drinks don't expect them to be fully vigilant, I'll see if the merchants are good natured if so I'll warn their guards, the catfolk are paying a lot of attention to the caravan, a little too much really so I'll look into that, plus the patriarch of that family is hiding an injury so I'll take a look before greeting the catfolk and then the merchant party." he explains quietly to the others before jerking outright.

"Well I'm off to see if the gnome fellow over there also enjoys a bit of the gnome pipeweed... it's a bit of a male romance so I'll be off..." Pomin belts out aloud mischievously to see if the father is game as he marches off with a bit of spring in his step.

"Kinsfolk! Salutations, I've come to see if the as a fellow gnomegentlemen if you'd like to partake in a bit of Gnomish Pipeweed." Pomin explains looking on his own body where the gnome has an injury and then in the gnomes face before looking at the man's body where the injury might be and then smiles dumbly like a gnome looking like someone trying to find an excuse to smoke a bit of pipeweed.
Oct 15, 2018 9:27 am
The gnome who appears to be the father looks slightly surprised as Pomin comes over but his expresion quickly changes to one of greeting "Why hello there. Please join us" he smiles and says as he takes Pomins hand in greeting. Gesturing for him to take a seat by the fire where a gnomish woman of mid years is preparing their evening meal the gnome rattles off some introductions "I'm Sylvester by the way. This is my wife Sophia and our boys are somewhere about, you can usually hear em long before you can see them" he says with a chuckle. "Tell me friend, what brings you onto the road? You and your companions seem to be travelling pretty lightly.". If he has picked up on Pomin's hinting about his injury he makes no sign of it
Oct 15, 2018 1:53 pm
Pomin sits and speaks plainly about the situation scanning the area and looking about. "We were requested to survey the area for some rather nasty fellows that may have a den of sorts about in the area for their tribe. There's one in particular we should be wary of in charge. We're unsure of their overall intentions but it's not good since they've done a bit of river piracy. You might want to keep your sons in eyesight since it's not brigands I speak of... So what can you two tell me about the other parties camping... and your injury? If something dangerous comes I'd like to know I didn't leave you at a disadvantage assuming you'd be fine Sylvester." He gauges the two after talking as he prepares a long pipe.
Oct 16, 2018 9:54 am
Sylvester shrugs whilst filling his pipe "The merchant was here when we got here and the catfolk arrived just after. Just seem like normal travellers to me". He fingers the rough bandage along the side of his ribs for a moment "We ran into some trouble with some goblins a couple of days ago, there were just a couple of the little buggers so we didn't have too much trouble seeing them off but one of the caught me by surprise as they turned to leg it." he continues to tell you they were travelling south following Flametail River and had just passed the southern edge of Kurnan lake when they had their run in. Based on the description it wasn't far off the likely area for the goblin settlement you had noted on the map.

As you are talking with him Sophia shouts out that dinners ready and in a blink three boys materialise. It's a bit hard to place specific ages on them but you'd say the youngest is barely an adolescant whilst the oldest looks to be nearing their maturity.
OOC:
Not sure on exact age ranges or anything for gnomes or other races in this setting so I'm assuming the usual tropes of Elves and Dwarves being pretty long lived and most other races (gnomes included) falling pretty much in line with a human lifespan.
Oct 16, 2018 1:00 pm
Pomin nods seriously trying to find out where they were ambushed and how close they are to that location now to try and line up his mental map of where they're going to scout versus where Sylvester and his family were ambushed to figure out possible patrol and hunting routes. He'll ask if Sylvester wants him to look at his injury later after they have dinner leaving him and his family to do just that. "Be mindful there are more then a few in the area, they've even taken to watching the river for easy prey a float..." he states nodding to the family before he gets up to leave.

Once done and arrangements made if needed Pomin moves on to the Catfolk's camp to see what they can tell him.
OOC:
Unsure if he's good on the injury but trying to find out about where they came from, looking at the injury might hint at what they're using for quality of weaponry (rusty dagger, shiv made from bone, etc). Once I find that out I'll look towards the catfolk.
Oct 16, 2018 5:29 pm
Khurza gets to work setting up camp, checking the space for hidden creatures (mainly snakes), spreading the bedrolls, and grabbing some firewood. She keeps a close eye on Pomin, and another on the strangers.
Oct 22, 2018 1:08 pm
Khurza - you quickly pick out a good spot clear of small beasties and get a small fire going for your camp. Things with the other groups you are here with seem mostly settled and Pomin is moving between the groups without any real trouble.

Pomin - Sylvester waves away your offer of help with the injury "Honestly, it's fine. Was just a scratch and it barely hurts anymore". From the description you think the familly were attacked just north of the area you were told the goblin settlement is most likely to be. Making your goodbyes for now from the gnomes you head over to the pair of catfolk. As you move towards them you see that they are quietly talking to one another, as you get almost within earshot one of them notices your approach and gestures to the other who turns to watch your approach. As you get close enough to expect a greeting they both stare at you silently.
OOC:
Updated map below. The red circle is the area you think the goblins will be, the red cross on the river is where your barge was attacked, the green cross is roughly where Sylvester thinks they were when they were attacked and the purple triangle is the camp you are at now.

Walking up Pomin stops a bit waiting for what looks like the duo are ready to receive a guest and have time to stop private conversations.

"Greetings, I'm Pomin, just making the rounds as it were to see how everyone is... also it seems there are goblins in the region so be mindful. Also anything you think we should be mindful of as well in the area is greatly appreciated if you give a heads up." Pomin states with a smile waiting for a response.
Oct 22, 2018 11:26 pm
Nya helps Khurza with setting up camp. She chews unenthusiastically on some of the rations she brought with her.
Oct 23, 2018 1:26 pm
The catfolk glance at one another before the one closest to you turns back to you. "We are fine" he says simply, the two continue to stare at Pomin.
OOC:
You can make a Hard Perception check if you like to see if you can glean any further information
Oct 25, 2018 12:52 pm

Pomin - as you study the catfolk you realise that when they glanced at one another there was an....odd pattern to what their ears and whiskers were doing. If you had to guess you'd say there was some sort of brief exchange between the two before the one responded to you but exactly what passed between them you're not sure.
OOC:
Any idea's for your advantage?
Nya / Khurza - as you both begin to get settled you get a couple of frendly nods from the caravan guards but other than that the other folk here seem content to leave you in peace
Nov 6, 2018 1:54 pm
Pomin looks from one to the other and blinks a few time and purses his lips.

"Well I've been in a relationship before and 'fine' doesn't always mean fine but also shoo, or I'm angry at you, or do you know what you did in my dream with my sister... I'm a Halfling, my associates over there and I are on a job but they're good people and we like doing good things and helping people out when it's possible and within reason, and we'll be out of your hair quite soon but if you want to talk and we can help I don't see why I shouldn't listen to see what we can do but your business is your business and I can respect that." Pomin explains with a curt nod.
OOC:
Playing the Halfling card: Might be much but could I use the advantage to have them realize I know something is up by their body language and non verbal communication and give them a chance to talk about stuff if they want but if they don't no harm no foul...
Nov 8, 2018 11:49 am
The catfolk share a fairly inscrutable glance before the other answers in a much lighter tone "And yet sometimes fine is just that. Our business is our own". Whilst nothing has been explicitly said you get a feeling of dismissal from their tone.
Nov 8, 2018 1:25 pm
"Well alright, you two seem like a fun bunch so I'll let you to it with your business. I guess let me know when you're not fine and I'll see what I can do to help." Pomin states at he extends a leg horizontal to the ground and does a spin to face the other direction to march off almost comically while whistling as he waves over his shoulder at the two. He'll make his way over to the merchants and the guards to be seen before approaching. No one likes to get snuck up on especially if their drinking on the job.
Nov 8, 2018 1:47 pm
The catfolk watch you leave and as soon as you are out of earshot they return to their conversation. They seem to be splitting their attention between you and your party and the activity around the caravan now however.

As you approach the caravan you get a couple of freindly nods from the guards as you approach but the rest of the crew seem to be busy with various small maintaince tasks about the wagons in additon to preparing their evening meal. You can see a dark haired human female who seems to be in charge, at least when she talks it seems like everyone else jumps and she doesn't seem to be spending much time getting her hands dirty.
Nov 8, 2018 2:56 pm
Pomin walks up to make himself be seen and looks for an opportunity when she's not giving orders Madam I am Pomin as the person I'm presuming in charge of the largest group here thank you for showing a presense that would hopefully deter any animals of denizens of the forest with ill intent. Anything in particular you'd like us to be mindful of? Pomin states.

Besides not bothering you anymore... he thinks as an afterthought since things seem to be a bit busy.
Nov 13, 2018 9:25 am
As you pproach she turns angrilly "I've told you before to clear off you litt....oh. Sorry, thought you were someone else" from her glance towards the gnomish family you're guessing she may have initally assumed you were one of their boys. She looks at you for a moment before shaking her head slightly "The names Darlane. As for what you can do well just the usual really, if you and yours see anything untoward just give us a shout so we're not taken by surprise. If you'll excuse me, I've a million things to attend to and I really would like to get some sleep tonight" she nods and turns and begins to head back to the caravan before you can get much chance to say anything else.
Nov 13, 2018 2:08 pm
Pomin nods trying to perceive if she's just stressed and/or tired, "Well when the late guard shift starts you've no doubt will need to add watching your guards if they fall asleep easily after sneaking drinks during work. Be mindful of the Goblins in the area... The Gnomes are here since they've survived an attack on the road." he offers up with a nod before heading back to the rest.

"Well the Gnome Family is nice but they've been attacked by Goblins on the way here, their kids don't knowthe meaning of personal space and possible thought to be thieves since they were among the merchants carvan, the cat folk seem to be playing things close to the chest so be mindful they have an issue with the caravan. Darlane the one in charge of the merchant caravan... she's..." Pomin explains to the rest.
Nov 18, 2018 12:21 am
"Duly noted," Nya responds, clearly uninterested in the goings-on of the other travelers. "Want some soup?" She offers Pomin a bowl.
Nov 19, 2018 8:40 pm
You all settle down for your evening meal. The freindly chatter coming from the camps around you all is a soothing change of pace to what you usually expect when on the road and as the night draws in you all settle down for the night.

Nya - you find yourself standing a watch over the middle of the night. A couple of the caravan guards have been quietly chatting to one another and from the snatches of their conversation you catch they seem quite, quite drunk. The father of the gnomish familly is keeping an eye on their camp whilst his family sleep and you can just make out the sleeping forms of the two catfolk on the far edge of the camp.
OOC:
Figured we were at a good point to move things along, just let me know if you want to wind things back. Rolled randomly for who was going to be on the middle watch.

Marithyme - can Nya please make me a Perception check, difficulty will be 2 x Challenge, 1 x Difficulty, and 1 x Setback dice (setback is for the dark conditions)?

Pomin lets the others know the situation and thankfully takes some soup before turning in. In his sleep he wiggles around and shifts his head around constantly. It almost looks like he's crawling around and climbing things in his sleep.

Nya - you watch the light of your camp fire on the edge of your blade, still keeping an ear open in the night when you suddenly realise something is wrong. Looking round you don't catch sight of any particular threat, the campsite being quiet....it hits you that things are too quiet. Your eyes dart to the merchant caravan and the two guards are clumsily sprawled out on the floor, you're just about to look to the gnomish family when you realise a dark figure is closing with you rapidly!

OOC:
If I don't need two maneuvers to get my bow out and shooting I'll aim plus invoking Painful Blow (upgrades difficulty from P -> PP)
"Whack off!" Pomin blurts as he aims for a dodgy spot his arrow sticking them in place.
OOC:

Painful Blow succeeds so: When you make a combat check increase difficulty by one, if the target suffers one or more wounds they suffer 2 strain each time they perform a maneuver until the end of the encounter.

I'd use another 2 strain to invoke Expolit Rank I: When making a combat check with a ranged or melee light weapon you may suffer 2 strain to use this talent, adds Ensnare quality equal to your ranks in this talent.

Damage -9
Maneuver for them -2 Strain per maneuver.
Pomin -4 strain from 2nd maneuver and using Exploit. Using my 2 advantage to activate Ensnare on meh bow.

I'm noticing Pomin is really good when he's grumpy and wants to just sleep in pease.

Still a bit bleary eyed Pomin snaps a shot off at the figure that was rushing Nya and is greeted by a snarling growl. It's hood falls back and you see the familiar form of one of the catfolk. It glances down at the arrow pinning the bottom of his trousers to the ground before whiping it's arm out and flinging a dagger at Nya before shouting to it's companion "Get the one with the bow!". As the dagger slices into Nya she feels a strange numbing sensation creeping up her arm.

Quickly moving over to him she doesn't dare try performing first aid with that dagger inside of him. Pomin comes to and looks around smacking his lips his tongue coming out oddly. "Be mindful the male had another dagger with poison still on it... tie em up just in case and please search em." he mutters squinting like a he'd been drinking straight for a week his face contorted.

Noticing the fellow looking panicked he feebly waves. "This is why I stay in the back."

"Do not speak, rest." Carefully placing Pomin on his bedroll Khurza walks over the bodies, prodding each with her axe just in case. "You should sleep too, these cowards aren't going to bother anyone again." She says to Sylvester, giving him a cold look before checking the catfolk for anything of interest.
Dec 3, 2018 1:58 pm
As the camp begins to rise in a bit of a panic once the realities of what just occurred set in you see Sylvester turn back to his family and wake his wife. "Quickly love, I think some people are hurt over there".

Sophia comes over with a bag and makes a beeline for Pomin. "You been in the wars a touch dearie? Let me see what I can do to help ya" she says with a smile as she sits down next to the Gnome and opens what appears to be a rather well stocked apothecary's bag and sets to work tending his injuries. Whilst Pomin doesn't feel a massive amount better Sophia assures him the herbs that she has used on the particularly deep gash along his side will help it heal better. As she moves over to assist Nya you do feel that you can at least stretch out now without too much undue discomfort.
OOC:
No wounds back unfortunately but you can get rid of the crit you suffered
Khurza - as you begin to check over the catfolk a few of the caravan guards who were asleep come jogging over to help (they appear to be ones who were supposed to be resting not who were supposed to be on watch). One of them shouts over from next to the catfolk who Nya shot and shouts out "This ones dead!", the others help secure the other catfolk who seems to be merely unconscious but do nothing to interfere with your search of them.
OOC:
Including the ones that they threw the Catfolk had 6 daggers (3 each) that appear to have been coated with some sort of poison. In their supplies you find several large sacks, 2 weeks of rations, a couple of waterskins, and 3 stoppered clay flasks, 2 of which hold a thick, viscous liquid that smells sharp and unpleasant and another that contains a thiner liquid that doesn't seem to smell of much but make you a little lightheaded from taking a sniff

As you make your comments you hear Darlane's voice as she approaches "They're asleep alright but nothing we do can rouse them. I have a sneaking suspicion they were drugged.". She gestures to the catfolk "Apparently these two were being quite friendly earlier, sharing their drinks and the like. Looks like they slipped a little something special into them". She looks directly at Khurza "Well, it might've been simpler if both of them had died in the fight but I aint no murderer and besides I know a couple of folks who will want to talk to this one back in Dawnsmoor"

Darlane looks about to say something but stops herself "I can't think of anything in particular but like most merchants I carry some coin for sundry expenses on my journeys." she says carefully, you get the impression she was going to say something else before she caught herself. She gestures to the remaining catfolk "He's not going anywhere I can assure you. I'll be handing him over to the elves at Dawnsmoor, they take a dim view of bandits operating this close to the city so I'm sure they'll be appreciative of taking custody of this one. There might even be a reward if you want to come along to cash in? Regardless I'm grateful for your assistance. I should be in Dawnsmoor for a few weeks before I head back out so when you get back to the city come and find me and I have something for you."

Khurza - you think that the liquid wouldn't be particularly harmful in anything other than extremely large doses but you can't quite pin down what it is exactly.
OOC:
Well you can if you want to find out exactly what it is but even without a roll Khurza would be able to work out it's the same stuff they had their weapons coated with just based on how it looks
Dec 6, 2018 3:40 pm
"Well we're a bit disposed for the next few days you can simply mention us to the guards when you turn over custody I'm sure Lord Ethanath and his aide will want a full report of the event and people when we get back since we work for him. We will be back most likely before you leave." Pomin offers up wiggling a bit and folding his hands on his chest to get comfortable, "Oh about my shift ladies. I'm afraid I won't be of much use tonight really if something else happens."
Dec 6, 2018 10:09 pm

Darlane's eyes narrow suspiciously "I'm not sure what you are getting at but I'm sure he will be quite forthcoming with what they were after once the authorities at Dawnsmoor are done with him. Now, if you'll excuse me I have things to attend to.". She turns and gestures to her men who have finished securing the catfolk and they begin following her dragging the figure behind them.

After a short while the relative calm of the night begins to return, most of the caravan guards now stand awake and much more alert than they previously were and Sylvester and Sophia are casting nervous gazes about whilst watching over their sleeping sons. The only sound that punctuates the night closest to your camp is that of Pomin softly snoring....
OOC:
The Threat will translate as Darlane being slightly offended by your questioning for some reason and will mean any future dealings you have with her won't be on quite as good a footing as they would have been (she's not unfriendly or hostile by any means)
Dec 10, 2018 7:19 pm
I will let Pomin do the talking next time. Khurza snorts when Darlene leaves, frustrated she can't get through to her. No use thinking on it, Khurza prepares to take watch for the remainder of the night.
Dec 11, 2018 4:03 pm
The rest of the night passes without incident and you begin to break camp with the rising sun.

Darlane was up around an hour before dawn and quickly set her crew to getting their wagons ready to move. She appears to not have had much, if any, more rest through the night but any weariness on her part is quickly masked by working on getting everyone moving. The body of the catfolk is wrapped up in the back of one of the wagons next to the still living one. The merchants guards appear to have done a decent job at restraining him as he is bound by a number of rather thick ropes.

The gnomish family quickly get themselves ready to move, seeming to be wanting the travel the rest of the way to the city with the relative safety of the merchants. As they work Sophia pushes a bundle into the arms of their eldest child and gestures in your direction. He quickly comes trotting over and after a somewhat worried glance at Khurza makes a beeline for Pomin and holds the bundle out. "Here, momma said this is for you. Something about a thank you for helping with the trouble last night?" he curiously eyes Pomins bandages
Dec 11, 2018 6:19 pm
Pomin nods, "Tell them they have my thanks." Once they've packed up as well Pomin looks to make his way deeper into enemy territory for their mission.
Dec 13, 2018 11:23 am
You quickly make progress and leave the camp site and the events of the previous night behind you all. Pomin's injuries mean he is not moving as quickly as he usually does but still you make decent progress.

The next couple of days pass without further incident, the only concern you have as the days go by is that Prong has not met back up with you all. Whether they are still lurking nearby, have decided to find their fortune elsewhere, or that they have met an unfortunate end is something that remains a mystery as you continue your travels. On the morning of your third day out of the city you break north from the road, heading in the direction of Kurnan Lake into the area that you believe the goblin settlement to be located...
OOC:
Pomin get's another couple of wounds back for the 2 days. If theres anything else you want to do to recover any additional wounds just let me know.

Whilst Khurza's scan of the area reveals nothing in the afternoon light it occurs to Pomin that if the goblins have a camp here abouts then they would most likely have a fire of some sort and scanning the horizon he catches sight of two thin smoke trails. Both are quite a distance from each other, the closest would be three or four hours travel away.
Dec 17, 2018 12:25 pm
Pomin jumps down from a tree and points out what he's found from scouting. They've a ways to go with either choice he explains and he mentions there's likely patrols if they're organized. Thoughts of keeping on guard and trying to stay downwind come to mind.
OOC:
Do we have a map? Pomin will try and look for a method that gives them some cover on the way in so we don't get caught walking up on a patrol and things getting awkward.
Dec 18, 2018 9:06 am
OOC:
The only map you have access to is the one Lyle gave you all but it's not exactly detailed at this level. Pomin and Khurza - You make your way towards the closest camp fire you are careful to try and use the terrain to mask your approach as much as possible. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to have been as successful as you'd hoped as when you get within a few hundred yards of the camp fire Nya cries out from the rear of the as an arrow clips the side of her head and she falls to her knees, a group of goblins whoop and cry as they close in with you all.

Abadai and Aya - You have been travelling near Lake Kurnan for the last couple of days. Rumors of trouble and bandit attacks in this area have thus far proved to be just that, rumors but you still have kept a wary eye out as you made your camp for the evening. I amended the last post accordingly, they did one less damage (6 rather than 7). You don’t have anything noted in Khurza’s defence boxes on your character sheet which is why I missed it. If it’s an item or effect that would typically be present for your character can you make sure it’s noted there as that’s what I check when I’m working out the ‘bad guys’ dice pools.
Khurza’s axe swings out, seeing that her axe is coming right for them one of the goblins grabs a companion and uses it as a shield but her axe still carries enough momentum to cut a nasty gash accross the creatures belly. Crying in pain it drops the two halves of its ‘shield’ before snarling at the orc.

Aya is up then it’s any PC to take the first slot of the following round.

Realizing that something was amiss, Aya follows closely on Abadai's heels.

She mumbles words of power under her breath and a wave of magic flows out of her towards Abadai and those fighting the goblins.
OOC:
Sorry for being late to the party. It took me longer than I thought to catch up.

Anyway, casting the Augment spell while engaged with Abadai. That costs 2 strain.

Spending 2 advantage to give Abadai a boost, 1 advantage to add a boost to the next PC to go. And, if there's anything to notice, I'll "Notice a single important point in the ongoing conflict".

EDIT: Since I forgot my boost and got an additional advantage, I'd like to combine that with my "notice an important detail" advantage to give Pomin a boost instead. Is that cool, GM?

Don't sweat the delay, has been a bit slow all round really :)

So as a base effect of the Spell Abadai will add an Ability (Green) dice to their next check and you have 4 Advantage to spend. You could give a boost die to 2 specific PC's (2 Advantage Each) but that would use all of your Advantages. Based on what you've previously said it would be an Ability and a Boost die to Abadai and just a Boost die to Pomin, you happy with that?

Excelent, right then new round is up:

Abadai stepped forward and raised his staff in the direction of the group of goblins who were yet unengaged. "nihilo fulminis tempestates excitant deserto"
OOC:
*the desert storms call forth lightning from nothing

If I’m right, I’ve got my specific green ability dice plus the boost from the slot, correct? Instead of the Sirocco with Fire, it will be lightning.
Attack + Lightning + Range = Hard (PPP) but Staff automatically allows + Range, so drops it to (PP) I forgot that autofire would increase the difficulty, so adding that extra die.

That makes it 1 success, 3 advantage which can activate Autofire 1 time to hit two of the goblins for 7 damage each and I’ll use the other advantage to pass a boost along to next PC from the goblins being a bit startled from the lightning.

Pomin - as you are staring, trying to draw a bead on one of the gobbos that shot you are momentarily blinded as two bolts of lightning stab down from the sky at the group. As your vision clears you can see one of them dead on the floor and another appears to be barely hanging on.

Pomin and Khurza - over the din of the fight with the gobbos you are both now aware of the two figures who have crested a ridge nearby. From the lightning and fire flashing out at the gobbos you are pretty sure that at least one of them is lending you some magical assistance.
Jan 12, 2019 9:51 am
The remaining goblin archers turn their attention to what seems to be the most dangerous threat and begin sending arrows in Abadai's direction. The other group keep trying to press the attack against Khurza. As their attacks seem to be having some effect the goblins cheering and crying gets more excited and energetic

Khurza - the blade is indeed very well made and although you haven’t had much experience with them in the past you think the blade is of Dwarven make. You also note a very small mark on the blade towards the hilt, checking another couple of weapons you find the same mark

Everyone - you quickly move to where Abadai and Aya have set up camp, a couple of you helping Nya along. The area is in a slight depression in the ground and should allow you to keep out of sight of anyone passing near by.
OOC:
c__beck - you can try a few rolls to heal up some of the party, other than a few Wounds I think Pomin is the only PC to have taken a critical injury in the fight (other than Nya who is technically an NPC now). There was also a goblin left alive but unconscious so you could have either brought it along or ‘disposed’ of it....

"Dwarvern, the smith who forged these imprinted each with their logo. Might fetch a fair price, but that still leaves the mystery of how these blades were acquired. Khurza stockpiles the weapons. Still admiring the sword in her grasp, Khurza thinks she spots that damned vulture from earlier. She swears it's peering right at her, but doesn't wish to draw attention to the fact, the others might think her paranoid. And then she feels...strange, like a tingling sensation envelops her hand. Not knowing why she is compelled to place her hand over her wounds. A stinging sensation overcomes her, like stepping into an open flame causing her to drop the sword in shock. Annoyed she looks for the bird with half a mind to kill it now, only to find it vanished from sight. Settling for exacting revenge later, she doesn't notice her newly closed wounds.

"Ugh, this slaughter is interfering with my magic. Here, take this instead," and she hands Pomin a small vial of liquid with a slight gold sheen to it.
OOC:
It's a healing potion. If it's your first one today, drinking it will heal 5 wounds.
Feb 12, 2019 10:50 pm
As you are all begining to tend to your injuries you beging to hear a low groaning coming from your goblin 'guest'. It appears to be waking up....
Feb 13, 2019 1:58 pm
"Quick put on your best dark flunky mercenary face." Pomin states before notching an arrow and aiming at the goblin quite visibly for when he wakes up fully. "The play is Matriach is suspected of a double cross here to make sure everything's on the up and up... we're here. Doesn't look good when they attack us but makes sense... if they're hiding something. Also dibs on their arrows... they really hurt." he mutters as the wheel spin in his little head.
Feb 13, 2019 8:48 pm
"Good choice." Stowing the swords Khurza gets ready for another interrogation, cracking her knuckles and clearing her mind from that odd distraction. "Wake up." She nudges their prisoner with her axe pommel.
Feb 15, 2019 12:16 pm
As Khurza nudges the goblin it makes a grunting sound and then opens it's eyes. It's brief confused expresion is replaced by one of terror as it starts to scream "AARGHHHYOUNOKILLME!!!!!"
Feb 21, 2019 3:26 pm
"That's entirely up to you friend my associate here can very much do so, I don't want to get dirty though and we're here since our employer has suspicions about your matriarch or some of her underlings, they're going to muck up the deal but nothing personal... I'd answer the lady myself if you like your head being attached." Pomin stats backing up and giving Khurza room to talk or swing as she sees fit.
Feb 21, 2019 7:26 pm
OOC:
And here I thought I replied this whole time. My next post will probably include a coercion check, whats the difficulty?
"Where'd you get these?" Khurza asks in an even tone, planting one of the blades in front of the squirming captive.

The goblins shrieking stops abruptly as it's eyes frantically dart between Pomin and Khurza.

The goblin casts a wide eyed glance back and forth between Pomin and Khurza, a puddle rapidly forming around it. After a moment it seems to calm down a touch and starts talking "Long beard brought them for Great Muklack. Was payment. Are ours" it says as it starts to reach for the blade in Khurza's hand before thinking better of it.
OOC:
How do you want to spend your advantages? The goblin seems to be fairly compliant at the moment.
Feb 26, 2019 7:34 pm
OOC:
Advantages are difficult for me to pin. How about the goblin treats Khurza with a modicum of respect, and isn't a crybaby, out of fear for their life.
Feb 26, 2019 7:58 pm
"You think he knows what happened to Mukmik and those goblins with him?" Pomin asks Krurza.
Feb 26, 2019 11:23 pm
Khurza reflexively moves the blade away, eyes cast downwards as she listens to Pomin. "Perhaps, they ought to know something." She stares back at their captive. "Goblins have been raiding boats around here, why? And who is this Long beard?"
Feb 27, 2019 12:59 pm
The goblin frowns for a moment, seeming to be thinking really hard. "We attack 'boats'" it says boats as if the word isn't familiar to it "to take shineys. Make people stop using 'boat'. Attack ones Great Mucklack tells us to, not sure why she decides which to leave. Long beard has....erm....long beard" it makes a gesture from its face down to just below it's waist.
Feb 27, 2019 1:11 pm
"Long Beard fellow, not as tall as a human but twice as wide? Ruddy skin tone?" Pomin asks moving his hands at the dimensions he's implying to see if the Goblin doesn't know what a dwarf is.
Feb 27, 2019 1:33 pm
The goblin smiles and nods vigorously
Feb 28, 2019 2:55 pm
OOC:
Well this sound very Warhammery Dwarves never did like Elves much after 'the incident'.
"What we going to do with him Boss lady? He seems to know about Sir Longbeard the Dwarf do you think he knows about 'the plan'?" Pomin offers up asking Khurza what she thinks.
Feb 28, 2019 7:30 pm
"We could kill him." Khurza answers maliciously with a toothy grin, but it fades quickly. "Maybe not. We could use him, for intel, and what's the word? Test-I-mony?"
OOC:
Which plan was it?
Mar 1, 2019 9:50 pm
The goblin casts a frantic look back and forth between Pomin and Khurza "Me not know about plan, me know nothing! No kill MEEEEEE!!!!" it starts wailing again
Mar 3, 2019 10:39 pm
"Will. You. SHUT UP!" Khurza's patience grows thin at the ever annoying babbling, she looks ready to punch their prisoner, repeatedly. "The next thin you say better be helpful. Where is your camp?"
Mar 5, 2019 11:06 pm
Khurza, Pomin, Aya - the goblins mouth shuts suddenly with a click, it's eyes wide as it stares at the orc towering over it. Raising a shaky hand it points to the closest of the smoke trails Khurza and Pomin had spotted earlier.

Jabari - you have been wandering the lands here abouts for the last few weeks. The cold, damp north being decidedly unpleasant compared to what you are used to but every time you've thought about heading south again your 'friend' advises against it, they have been quite insistent that you stay in this land bereft of any decent sunlight much to your chagrin. You have been travelling for most of the day when you begin to hear some strange sounds in the distance, screams maybe which are then cut off as another voice shouts out "Will. You. SHUT UP!"
Mar 6, 2019 1:16 am
Jabari pauses. These Northerners can be a bit paranoid, especially when they see someone who dresses a bit differently or has different-colored skin. But they're not as bad as tribal rumors had them out to be. Their ale is passable, and their fires are warm enough. The man considers whether to make himself seen.

"Good. How many?" Khurza is quite pleased her commands are not ignored, staring at the puffs of smoke.
OOC:
I may want to roll discipline depending on his answer.
Mar 7, 2019 1:51 am
Wait a second… Is that…? Jabari feels his blood rush to his temples. Yes it is! The flush is replaced by an intense chill. Here, all the way in blasted north, it's a hated Al-Kalimi. "You merciless fiend! Have you led me to this cursed land to finish me off once and for all?"

The djinni's mocking voice echoes in the tribesman's head: "No, no, my prince! He is of no consequence. Your destiny lies with the others. Go with them! Then you shall find a way to free me from my prison…"

"You are more useless than a camel with its hump full of shit! Shut up shut up SHUT UP!"
OOC:
I think the presence of the Al-Kalim guy would set Jabari off something fierce. The others can presumably hear him now.

Khurza, Pomin, Aya - the goblins face creases with concentration, at one point it seems to be in pain before it looks at Khurza and says in a very serious voice "We are many goblins. Yes, many"

Just as you are about to round on the figure you hear a strange accented voice drift from the near distance "...a camel with its hump full of shit! Shut up shut up SHUT UP!". Abadai, still tending to Nya, lifts his head and quirks an eye at the voice but does not otherwise say anything.
Mar 7, 2019 3:45 pm
"Hmm trade route infringement and new leadership might be needed... also goblins can't really annotate a good count, none, couple, few, many... many could be 6 to over a 100 unless they're of some intelligence and they know how to actually count." Pomin mutters with a sigh since it'd be easier to just scout it out himself. Hearing someone odd loosing it he looks to the others then the goblin.

"Ah the goblin eater is here, excellent... Well boss if he wasn't truthful that one fellow will find out after he's gobbled him up." Pomin lies through his teeth with a smile going to investigate the yelling.

"Hello... are you having a moment? Calm down if you can I'd hate to have to shot you..." Pomin calls out.

Jabari hastily stuffs the lamp in his pack but then drops the rucksack at the sight of the gnome's arrows. He thrusts his arms straight out to his sides, palms forward, fingers splayed—a gesture that means "I'm unarmed and mean you no harm" in the South. But these Northerners are strange creatures.

He smiles the smile that has kept him alive in these frigid lands so far. "Greetings for this day, my friend! Sorry if my tongue has bothered you. I have been tracking a band of eseku. I believe you call them 'goblins'? Looks like they attacked you before I could stop them."

He pauses to gauge the Gnome's reaction.
Mar 8, 2019 2:52 pm
"Well enough for me we've been employed to find the ongoing of these goblins and the major play they'll likely be involved in. Unsure if you're most the altruistic type but fancy getting paid to assist?" Pomin states lowering his arrows.

Pomin semi introduces the new comer on the way back. "Freelancer tracking goblins... since we're down a few figure one more pair of hands won't hurt. Actually what was your name and why were you tracking them? I'm Pomin by the way."
Mar 8, 2019 6:21 pm
As the Gnome moves to rejoin the others, Jabari snatches up his rucksack and wipes off the wet grass and dirt. "If this is your idea of a joke—" he says to the lamp within, "—forcing me to team up with a hated Al-Kalimi… On the bones of my ancestors, I swear I'll throw you from the coldest mountain in this gods-forsaken land!"

Jabari trots over to catch up with the others. "Greetings for this day. I am Jabari Na'Hamada, last of my name, last living member of the Ufahamu tribe from the deserts far from here…" His voice grows stronger, and he stares at the man with the staff and turban. "…and only survivor of the massacre of my tribe by the hated forces of Al-Kalim!"
Mar 8, 2019 10:22 pm
Oh joy, more shouting. Khurza says mostly to herself as Jabari approaches, moving her hand away from her axe. It would be wise not to aggravate him, she'll have to play along for now. "Khurza Bonokgra of the Broken Plains. Also last of my tribe." Khurza says dryly, eyeing up this stranger.
Mar 9, 2019 1:10 pm
Jabari drops the baleful gaze toward the mage and bows low to the Orc. "Last of your tribe? Then surely you can understand why I'm shocked. You're traveling with one of the people who wiped out my own people." He puts his hands out again in the same "I'm unarmed" gesture. "Well, Al-Kalimi? The gods have made it clear that they're torturing me. Go ahead! Finish the job that your caliph didn't. Kill me then, go on!"

"I vote for we wait till they finish dealing with our companion with the arrow sticking out of their head..." Pomin states looking at Khurza.

"You thought I was a handful..." he mouths with a smile and a wink.
Mar 11, 2019 1:55 pm
Abadai merely shakes his head and continues helping the now quite groggy looking Nya "I have no quarrel with you Ufahamu but if you wish me to end you then please wait quietly and I will attend to you when I have a spare moment". Nya groans and tries to stand but Abadai gently pushes her to the ground before looking to Pomin and Khurza "I have done what I can for your friend but something is preventing my magics from healing her fully. If you are set on dealing with this goblin threat then I shall escort her to safety until you are done"
Mar 11, 2019 2:59 pm
Jabari jolts upright. "Sorry for the… outburst," he says to Pomin and Khurza. "I didn't notice your wounded friend here." He sits on a stump, head hanging low. "I have to admit—I'm shocked to see an Al-Kalimi helping someone. All the ones I've ever met have been riding horses and chopping down Kalishtar." He takes a deep breath. "But if this man wants to take your friend to get help, it won't do anyone any good to stop him. Besides, I have more important business with this goblin band."

"Abadai you have our thanks, if you think it's best to go to town send in a status report once you've settled down and brought Nya back safely we've made contact with patrols and heard tale of 'Longbeard' is in leageue with the goblin matriarch."

"Race and gender have no role in what kind of A-hole one has the potential to become. Now that it's the four of us... What business do you have and also miss wince your traveling companion may not be traveling for a bit do you wish to make some coin with us or assist him on his way to caring for our companion? " Pomin asks moving about looking for arrows from the fallen goblins and checks out their gear. If he sees anything of value that could help pay for Nya medical cost he'll check for that as well.

"Also no one's surprised how calm he is?" Pomin asks looking up and staring at Nya's 'pet'.
Mar 12, 2019 2:05 pm
Abadai nods "I will take her to Dawnsmoor and we will see you there on completion of your mission, farewell my friends" he says as gathers Nya up and the two of them head south.

Pomin makes a quick check over the dead goblins but asides from the weapons doesn't find anything of worth.
OOC:
Pretty sure it was Prong with the 'pet' way back.
There are a total of 10 Daggers and assorted arrows that are made to a decent quality, the rest of the goblins gear is worthless
Mar 12, 2019 2:52 pm
Jabari offers to help the Gnome and Orc gather up anything useful. As he drops a few arrows in a pile, he glances to make sure the Al-Kalimi is far enough down the road to be out of earshot. "Glad to run into you; sounds like we're headed the same place." His voice falls a bit as he stares off for a moment. "My people were wiped out not even three months ago. I'm the only one who lived. The other tribes are running scared, so I came across the sea. Been making my way east from Redwater as a caravan guard." Another pause. "But what I really want to do is rally your Northern nobles for support against the Caliph of Al-Kalim." He snorts. "Most of them just laugh me out of their stone houses. Baroness Katrin of Goldhall told me I am too unknown here. I need a reputation. Do some 'deeds' she said. She told me there were rumors of goblins messing with trade around Dawnsmoor, so that's where I went." He smiles and shrugs. "A Kalishtar king without any subjects. How's that for fate?"
OOC:
Jabari can use a spare dagger, if Pomin and Khurza would share one at this point.

"Well I guess we all have our reasons for what we're currently doing..." Pomin states oddly looking at what they've accomplished and nods.

"You three ready? And what do we do with him?" Pomin adds looking to the others.
Mar 17, 2019 11:34 pm
"We may have to-" Khurza suddenly falls silent, after a second she continues in a whisper, fearing the goblin will begin screaming again. "We could kill him, I'm not sure what alternative there is."
Mar 18, 2019 1:32 am
Jabari slides one of the goblin daggers into his belt.
OOC:
No one said not to, so I'll take one as a backup weapon.
"Is there any advantage to having him along as a hostage?" Jabari keeps his voice down, as well. "The eseku are not common where I am from. I don't know much about their customs."
OOC:
Jabari's not the one to make such a roll as an outlander, but maybe someone can try a Knowledge (Geography) check to see if Goblins care about getting their own kind back?

You engage in a quick quiet conversation over the risks of keeping the goblin alive. Jabari, you know that whilst goblins usually operate in groups they are at heart cowardly creatures and you are pretty sure that given the choice the goblin would flee rather than risk betraying you all. As you turn to study the goblin again however the patch of ground he was sat on is empty.

McNeils, Jabari was originally curious whether having the goblin along as a hostage would give us a bargaining chip with his tribe--Would they care about getting him back alive? Did anything about that aspect of their society come up in our conversation before the little bugger ran?

OOC:
You don't think they'd place any value on a fellow goblin being held hostage or anything similar. From what Jibari knows they only work in groups out of necessity or when a stronger creature forces them to do so.
As Pomin scans the terrain he quickly catches sight of the goblin running at full pelt in the direction of the nearest of the smoke trails. It keeps glancing back in your direction and as soon as it becomes aware you are aware it has escaped it picks up the pace.
OOC:
1 x Threat for it to be aware you know it's gone. 2 x Threats to put it at Long Range from you all. If you're going to pursue him I'll need a Simple Athletics check from everyone, will compare the results to whatever the gobbo gets to judge if it increases it's lead on you all or if you close with it. You can also try to do something to stop it but it is at Long Range.

OOC:

It's attention torn between watching where it is trying to run and the individuals pursuing it means the goblin tracks a bit off course and begins having to negotiate through some rougher ground.
OOC:
Ok, how about 1 x Threat so that it's not quite heading straight to where it's friends are and I'll use the others to add some difficulty dice to this next check from the rougher ground it's run into
Whilst Khurza gains some ground with the goblin Jabari seems to positively fly over the ground towards the small figure. It makes a choked, terrified sound as they close with him.

Pomin rounds a bend to head it off but can see his two companions panting and staring down at the goblin corpse a short distance away. It appears that even despite the commotion there are no other goblins rushing to your position.
Apr 1, 2019 12:51 pm
Jabari gives Khurza a grin. "He was dead before you even took a swing." He wipes the dagger on the goblin's tunic, stands, and puts the blade in his belt. "Don't think he would have been much use to us anymore—with or without the head."

OOC:
Yeah I'm going to give them another week or so to see if they return but for now lets assume that Aya went with Abadai and Nya for now. I've found in most of the games I've run on here it takes a bit to get a solid group who are going to stick with the game, was a shame Marithyme dropped out but they at least discussed it with me first and I get why they needed to....as for the others, well, it is a tad annoying when people drop out without so much as a word but it is what it is :)
Gathering yourselves you part ways with Abadai, Aya and Nya, them heading directly away from what believe is the goblin camp. Moving carefully you pick your way along being especially wary for further scouts before you find yourselves in a dip in the terrain, beginning to smell a particularly strong smoke scent coming from nearby as the sun is beginning to sink below the horizon. Listening you catch the rough sound of goblin voices in the near distance.
OOC:
You've followed a dip in the terrain for some distance (you think it may have once been a river bed) but that is petering out ahead of you all. What's your next move?

Yeah you can add two boost dice to the check (one as previously mentioned and the other for Jabari listening in too) - for every success you can ask a question (such as do they sound angry/agitated, are there any other voices, etc) or just leave it with me to drop some general facts that you pick up

Keeping quiet and your ears peeled you pick out maybe a dozen voices but the number seems to increase slightly as you are listening, perhaps as some of them begin to wake up. All of the voices seeming quite excitable but not aggressive or angry, occasionally a deeper, louder voice cuts through the air and quietens them for a moment before they slowly begin to get wound up again.
Apr 12, 2019 1:28 pm
"Looks like they were mostly down and are getting up, only one in charge there enough to shut up a dozen or so goblins from their normal antics. Curious who the Matriarch has out here maybe the aforementioned 'Longbeard'." Pomin lets the others know in a whisper. "Maybe we can look for a vantage on the way higher up where we can see the leader and take charge."

How do you handle those? Best character rolls with a couple of setbacks for the other two of us? Or boosts in that we're helping point out bushes to duck behind, etc.?

In Star Wars, there's a rule that the stealthiest character can make the initial Stealth check, and then they can pass any excess Successes to the next character down the chain. Presumably this is to indicate that the first character has shown the others where to step, duck, etc. Of course, this then requires three separate rolls.

Yeah it's a bit unclear on the face of things in the book. What I'd say is it'll be the best character in the group to make the check (Pomin in this case) with a boost die for anyone who has it as a career skill or at least 1 rank in it (to reflect the basic level of familiarity with the skill) or a setback die for every person without. In this case it'll be Average difficulty with 2 x Setback dice if I'm reading things right

Thanks :) Yeah you can use a triumph to take a 'free' immediate maneuver on any roll you make but it still counts towards the limit of doing 2 maneuvers in a round. It's not 100% clear but I'm going to rule the 'free' maneuver doesn't count for the purposes of taking Strain (so you could do another maneuver and an action without taking the usual 2 strain) - that make sense?

Khurza breaks out in a sprint toward the isolated goblins, using her boost in speed coupled with the goblins unpreparedness to maneuver herself between them and the camp, blocking them from slipping away. It's Remant's Triumph to spend, of course, but one possibility is that maybe the scream echoes in such a way that the camp goblins misinterpret its location and are thus looking the other way from us?

Exploit ensnares him but if it went through his chest when he went to scream I'll say I threaded his lungs with the arrow so he screams but he's got no 'juice' to put into it since his lungs collapse. (so it comes out a gasping gurgle)
"We should probably get to moving... might as well make this look like goblin infighting..." Pomin searches over the body quickly removing his arrow and tries to do a rush job of doing a frame up job his face dark while muttering about this getting sloppy...

OOC:
Is another Stealth check in order? Or do we assume this little skirmish distracts them enough for us to continue?
OOC:
No, you already made a roll to move where you wanted and that encounter was the outcome of that. Now you've resolved it I'm going to say you have a clear run to a good spot to observer the camp.
You move quickly to put some distance between you and the goblins you bumped into, quickly finding yourselves cresting a wooded ridge to the east of the goblin camp. From your point of cover you can see the goblin camp is a ramshackle affair, most of the goblins seem to sleep out in the open as there are only two hide covered tents - one has a smoke trail coming from the top and the other goblins seem to keep their distance (you assume it is for the leaders use) the other seems to be still but a couple of goblins stand at the side of it looking pretty bored. Most of the goblins in the camp seem to be interested in doing their own thing, fighting with one another for the most part, but a couple that appear slightly more serious than the others are wandering about mostly beating the others to get them to start doing whatever tasks need doing.
May 10, 2019 5:55 pm
Jabari frowns at the sprawl of the camp. "That's a lot of goblins." He scratches his beard for a moment, his gaze fixed on the camp. "Maybe we can cause a distraction to draw most of the rank and file away. Then we swoop in and subdue the leaders." The man grins and shrugs. "I mean, I'm brave, but I'm not suicidal."
May 10, 2019 7:44 pm
"There's a guarded tent possible prisoner or cache and two lieutenants to deal with besides the Matriarch. I'm a bit curious about the other tent but regardless taking out the two vigilant ones quickly will give us the option of mass confusion with no chain of command from the others if the Matriarch isn't aware of our doings... Maybe the food supply for diversion... do they even think that far ahead?" Pomin mutters trying to figure out things in his head his head rocking from side to side as he muddles through it, "Anyone know any good assassination techniques?"
May 12, 2019 8:35 am
Jabari - as you are talking about possible distractions you begin to feel a warm sensation coming from your pack accompanied by a sensation of almost eagerness.

OOC:
I will pass on that.
May 12, 2019 6:07 pm
Jabari tries to ignore the djinni for the moment—at least until they have a better idea of what their options are. He looks to Pomin. "You good with that bow? A flaming arrow setting one of those tents on fire might be the distraction we need."
OOC:
Jabari will pass on the Perception check. But he's mulling over whether it's worth asking the djinni for guidance.
May 13, 2019 1:07 pm
"If we take out the two vigilant ones first there'll be more panic on what to do possibly... we kind of need to deal with someone who might be in one of those tents... if there's captives I'd hate to have to report or think about we burned someone alive..." Pomin mutters still at a point of indecision shaking his head from side to side.

As you stare out over the camp two things jump out at you. The first is that you pick out a decent looking route that should let you get to the rear of the tents, out of sight of the guards. The second is that a large number of the goblins, ten by your count, seem to be getting ready to head out which should leave around six goblins in the camp (from the ones that you can see).
May 13, 2019 2:05 pm
"Right we need to hide and keep our vantage, they're mustering for sortie likely for a patrol with about half the camp's numbers... Who would have thought doing nothing for a bit would be this helpful?"
May 13, 2019 2:21 pm
Jabari seems relieved to see the surveillance pay off. "We still might have to deal with that raiding party if we take too long at the camp." He studies the path a moment and points two fingers toward the tent. "But we can't bee too noisy getting to that tent. Else we might stir the hornets' nest—especially since we don't know who's in there." He looks to the Orc and Gnome. "Who's it you're looking for exactly?"
May 13, 2019 3:16 pm
"We just need to bring back the head of Muglack... maybe find info on Long Beard, check the other tent to see if it's a prisoner or a cache of some sort or... Mug's boss."
May 14, 2019 1:33 pm
OOC:
Looks like we have 4 Story Points in the pool. Using 2 now.
Jabari stares intently at the tents for a moment. At any sign of Pomin or Khurza attempting to say something, he holds up a finger as if to shush them. He seems to be holding his breath. He shudders. Then he rummages around in his pack and produces a tarnished brass lamp.

"So, forgive me a bit of desert magic, Coldlanders. This spirit has plagued me since before I came to your frigid lands. But it's been a bit more… cooperative ever since I came north." The man rubs the lamp with a cloth and holds it up to his ear. "Djinni! Wake up, you! Are there any prisoners—prisoners who are not goblins, you devious fiend—in this camp below us?"
OOC:
Leaving the particulars of how this djinni manifests to you, McNeils! Does the djinni manifest? Can the others see and hear it? The ability's supposed to be usable in the midst of combat, so I suppose the djinni doesn't need to be invoked in this way or to appear in any visible way (but presumably can if it wants to). Rules of the ability would suggest that the djinni can communicate with Jabari directly while still stashed in the pack. But Jabari doesn't necessarily know any of that.

As Pomin and Khurza watch the shadows seem to gather round Jabari before moving in the direction of the goblin camp before gathering back round Jabari a few moments later. A whispered, serpent like voice seems to come from the wind around you all "You alwayss sssummon me for sssuch mundane tasksss Jabari, if you were to releassse me I could be of ssso much more assistanccccceee" the voice seems to sigh, knowing such arguments typically prove fruitless. As the shadows seem to get drawn back into Jabari's pack the voice fades, whispering as it does "There are no prisssonersss in the camp"
May 15, 2019 12:53 pm
Jabari stares at the lamp a moment. His voice is barely more than a whisper: "Odd. It's never spoken to me from inside the lamp before…." The outlander stuffs the lamp back into his pack and closes it. "This, this thing—we call it a djinni. It's why I am in your sun-forsaken lands. He keeps me alive thinking I will someday free him. Free it." He holds the sack up to his face. "It's not happening, you hear me? Not going to happen!"

Jabari throws the pack back onto his back and sighs. "So, no innocent prisoners to rescue. So much for heroics. Guess we sneak down to the nearest tent and take out the sentries?"

As for the Stealth issue when you are moving as a group it would be a group check so the person with the highest dice pool would make the check with usual additions for Skilled/Unskilled assistance (whilst this seems counter intuitive to some I view it as extra eyes keeping a lookout whilst moving) and you would need 1 net success per individual moving in the group, 3 in this case.
OOC:
So, I think this would qualify as Unskilled Assistance, yes? Looks like Pomin should make the check plus 2 boosts for the pair of us oafs following behind. At first as you start moving towards the camp things go well. You are able to use a natural dip in the terrain to keep out of site as you advance on the tents. You are a few yards away from the back of the suspected storage tent when you begin to move up the slope but as you do your feet, despite your best efforts, disturb a patch of stone that goes skittering down to the bottom of the slope. As you wince from the noise you hear a shout of alarm from the camp and the sound of several goblins starting to scramble about....

The other tent is at Short range to you all. Pomin is at Medium range to the goblins, Khurza and Jabari are still technically at long range but only need to spend one manoeuvre to move up to Medium range (as they both spent one Manoeuvre closing last round)

You can see they have a mix of long daggers and bows
Jun 2, 2019 2:09 am
With some distance remaining until the goblins close on them, Jabari slips over to the entrance of the tent that, until moments ago, had been guarded by the goblin sentries. He pulls on the entry flap and looks inside for any threats hiding therein.
OOC:
1 maneuver to engage with the tent entrance. He's looking inside the lighter-colored tent that he and Khurza are flanking. As it's the heat of battle, I'm happy to roll a Perception check; just let me know the difficulty. Otherwise, I'll wait to finish his action for after he sees what's inside.
Jun 4, 2019 9:19 am
Jabari takes a quick glance inside the tent, he sees a number of sacks and boxes that the goblins have obviously looted from the merchants they have been attacking.
OOC:
If you want to have a more detailed look you can spend a second maneuver to make a Perception Check, difficulty would be Average with a Setback die due to it being dark in the tent.
Jun 4, 2019 12:35 pm
"Nothing to worry about here!" Jabari calls to the others. "Looks like loot—no Goblins." The man advances forward, shield at the ready, and stands near the Goblins' fire.
OOC:
No Perception check; Jabari was more concerned about threats in the tent. Trading his action for a second maneuver to move forward toward the fire.

OOC:
I'm happy for the Assist to apply in this instance, seems quite narratively fitting
With an almost gleeful cry the goblins surge forwards. The armoured one and several of the others rushing towards the imposing form of Khurza and the other group rushing towards Jabari.

Whilst the others attention is focused on the onrushing tide of greenskins Pomin notes the flaps on the second tent parting and a figure emerges from the tent. It is another goblin but this one is adorned with a number of fetishes and other strange trinkets and it carries a long staff that seems to be made of lashed together bones. She grins in your direction and points the staff whilst shrieking and sending a blast of dark energy at the gnome.

All goblins are now either engaged or at short range to everyone.

So are you up at your wound threshold or down?
OOC:
Up, from page 112 of the Genesys rulebook:

When a PC suffers wounds greater than their wound threshold, they are knocked out and incapacitated until their wounds are reduced so that they no longer exceed their wound threshold (likely through healing). They also immediately suffer one Critical Injury. In some rare and dire circumstances, this could result in the PC’s death.

Nice summer themed avatar Remnant.
Jun 20, 2019 4:06 pm
OOC:
For the 3 Threat, I'm going to say the Goblins attacking Jabari stumble over themselves and fall prone. This will mean they have to use a maneuver to get back up, and melee attacks on them get a boost until they get back up.
Jabari blocks some of the Goblin onslaught with his shield, but he feels the sting of a dagger nonetheless. As one of the Goblins lunges for another stab, the tribesman sees an opening and trips the attacker. The Goblin falls back, sending its cronies tumbling, as well. Jabari takes advantage of their misfortune and stabs downward at them.
OOC:
That's 9 damage before Soak, plus I'll use the 2 Advantage to crit and kill one of the Goblins outright. Then my free maneuver to back out of engaged range with them (so they'll be unable to return attack, since they have to spend a maneuver to get up and a second to re-engage).

She didn't use a maneuvre, just an Action to sling the pain at Pomin. My bad, I thought the spell the goblin was doing was a Curse and not an attack (it's one of the pre-prepped ones in the statblock) which I had in my head wouldn't be affected by Defense. Rolling a setback for it now and a crit in case it's relevant.

Ok that's either a Severity 1 Sudden Jolt (15) or a Severity 1 Off-Balance (25) if Pomin still has a non healed crit (I've it in my head he was injured previously but could be mistaken)
I their eagerness to slice into him the goblins fighting Jabari tumble over themselves as his sword flashes out, cleaving into two of them as he dances backwards. The lone surviving goblin tries to quickly extracate itself from the bodies of it's companions.

OOC:
Mcneils, how far is Jabari from the witcher? Could he get into engaged with her/him this turn? What about Khurza? Somebox, I'm wondering if we should concentrate our efforts on that threat, as it seems the most dangerous... Jabari sneers at the Goblin flailing under the weight of its dead companions and considers slaying it before it becomes a threat. But then he sees the trails of black magic coming from the witcher's staff. "I've had enough magic for one lifetime..."
OOC:
The final Goblin minion Jabari was fighting should still be prone, meaning it can't hurt anyone this turn--It will have to spend a maneuver standing, and another engaging with Jabari or Khurza.
The desert nomad charges the witch with shield and sword raised, pressing the attack before the sorcerer casts more dark magic.
OOC:
One maneuver to engage with the witcher, a second (2 strain) to Aim. Attacking with the sword. Was hoping for a crit, alas. That's 8 damage on the witcher before Soak. And I've used a SP to upgrade her next magic check.

What would it cost to break the staff, or grab it (and the thug's sword)? Right now I'm thinking we try to parley/intimidate them, or beat them down when they have no weapons.
Jul 3, 2019 6:28 pm
OOC:
You could probably grab one of them with a maneuver using your shield hand, assuming your shield doesn't need to be grasped. Or say you're stepping on the weapons, putting your weight down. Either would hopefully only take a maneuver and still allow you to attack. That would force them to try an opposed Athletics check to get the weapon(s) back and eat up their actions, unless they opt to attack unarmed or cast magic without the staff.
Last edited July 3, 2019 6:28 pm

OOC:
For a weapon break without sunder you have to damage it through the quality states, slightly damaged, damaged, heavily damaged, broke. Whatever you think makes the most sense, Imma chill over here in the shade... XD
Jul 4, 2019 11:16 am
OOC:
Right, after having a trawl through the rulebook here's what I'm going to say for damaging items in a combat encounter:

Without Sunder - Held Items
Must take an Aim maneuver to target the specific item and then spend an Action to attack it.
Attack will be at 2 x Setback if 1 maneuver spent aiming, 1 x Setback if 2 Maneuvers spent aiming.
Attack can only damage it one level on a successful attack, Triumphs or 3 x Advantages can be spent to damage it further

Without Sunder - Non-Held Items
Do not need to use Aim Maneuver to target item.
Can use an Action to attack the item at normal difficulty
Attack can only damage it one level on a successful attack, Triumphs or 3 x Advantages can be spent to damage it further

With Sunder - Held Items
As per weapon quality
When attacking a target can spend 1 x Advantage to Activate Sunder (even if attack misses) and select 1 item held or worn by the target to be damaged 1 level.
Can spend additional Advantages to damage Item additional levels (must be same item)

With Sunder - Non-Held Items
Do not need to use Aim Maneuver to target item.
Can use an Action to attack the item at normal difficulty
Attack can only damage it one level on a successful attack, can damage it an additional level for each additional Advantage spent

We'll try the above and see how it works, I'm a bit worried it might be too easy to destroy items but we can always change it on the fly. Thoughts?
Jul 4, 2019 1:13 pm
OOC:
Those rulings look fine! It's actually pretty hard to destroy an item without Sunder, but I think that's by design to protect PC items. What's good for the goose and all that.

Grabbing the item or stepping on it and forcing them to try to wrestle it back might be more effective than trying to destroy it. Another option is to throw it into the fire, but that requires Khurza to sacrifice her attack.

Crossing fingers that we turn the tide somehow! :)
Jul 4, 2019 5:06 pm
OOC:
The rulings look reasonable to me, but I guess we'll have to put it into practice. Grabbing the weapon does seem smarter given our lack of sundering tools.

WELP I put too much stock in attacking it seems. Uhhh advantage to to Jabari, who is inspired to run away before he too dies.
Khurza tosses her shield to the ground, replacing it with the bothersome staff. "Don't come any closer, or I'll rip it to splinters!" She swings at the Witch, trying to get her to back off, or just kill her.

As the goblins collide with one another Jabari sees his opportunity. A flurry of quick strikes leaves two of them lying dead or dying on the floor with the last one looking absolutely terrified.

As the thug tries to attack Khurza the witcher starts sending barely controlled blasts of lightning out at the orc. Both of them jerk back as the backlash of the magic licks out towards them

Khurza's axe cuts into the Witchers chest as she screeches in pain and frustration, on the back swing the orc carves up the goblins torso and she falls silent and falls to the floor with a thud.

The Goblin Thug roars in anger and launches another attack against Khurza in retaliation.

The other goblin looks almost sick at seeing the witcher fall. Looking from Jabari to Khurza and then at the bodies lying strewn about the place it throws it's weapon to the floor and begins to run.
OOC:
10 damage to Khurza

I'm assuming that put's Khurza down but there are those couple of Threats to play with

Jabari stifles a cheer upon seeing the witcher fall. But then he sees the smaller goblin flee and the larger one land a slash on Khurza's flesh. The man considers throwing a dagger at the fleeing goblin—last thing he needs is that goblin fetching reinforcements. But he chooses immediate survival and turns his attention to the goblin thug instead. Seeing the goblin momentarily distracted with a stuck blade, Jabari says, "You still want to do this, Green-skin?"

We had some really bad rolls! But I think our Catfolk Primalist up and quitting on us also made an impact. I created Jabari with the understanding that we had a dedicated healer. I'll hopefully be able to post Jabari's next moves later today.
Jul 17, 2019 12:16 am
Jabari stares at the fallen goblin for a long moment, just catching his breath. The goblin's limp body goes blurry in his vision as the sound of blood pounds in his ears. As his focus returns, Jabari remembers he came here with two strangers. A quick look at the Orc and Gnome suggests that both need medical attention. He elbows his pack and hears the lamp jangle inside. "You damned fiend! Leading me here to nearly die with no healer in sight."

Jabari peers inside the tent the witcher came out of. That witch must have some sort of healing supplies in here...
OOC:
I'll spend that last Story Point to say a friendly healer passes by and helps revive Khurza and Pomin (or agrees to do so for a cut of whatever loot is in these tents). If that won't work, Jabari is hoping to find the equivalent of an apothecary's kit. I'll spend the SP for that, too, if necessary.

Jabari performs a quick search of the two tents nets and manages to locate a couple of Health Elixirs among the various goods and other possessions. After quickly administering one each to Khurza and Pomin they are both awake, if not completely back on their feet just yet.
OOC:
Yeah I'm not so keen on the wandering healer idea so hope the above works for you for a SP. Pomin and Khurza get 5 wounds back and can both also make a check to recover some strain
Jul 17, 2019 1:34 pm
Pomin comes through with a snort and looks around in a dazed matter looking down at his hands and his bow a bit away from him and around at the others. Rolling to his side he hacks and spits out bloody phlegm before snorting again and wipes his mouth with a shaky hand.

Look at the others from the ground upside down he flails an arm in the direction of the others.

"You guys look rough..." he comments.

He flops about on his back over to Khurza slapping her boot with his hand his chest rising rapidly and wheezing a bit. Clearing his throat again and spitting off to the side he grunts and sits up his head bobbing slightly his eyes closing mostly. His breathing in irregular for a minute before he calms himself.

His voices comes out cracked at first.

"Not how I expected to use this but we still have to look about and sneak back..." he mutters spitting again.

"I got the magic in me...
Every time I say the words, it turns into gold...
Everyone knows I've got the magic in me..."
he sings quietly swaying slightly.

He flops back down and puts up a finger, "Gimme a minute, I'm tired..." he states his slitted eyes looking half dead again. He flops in a fit of coughs and looks up at the sky through mostly closed eyes.

Did the bird do this? How can this be? While musing on her still alive body Pomin's soft song begins to take hold, healing her wounds and regaining her energy. Feeling much better she takes stock of the situation, noting they must've won the fight.

Pomin shuffles through the tent of the Matriarch.

"Could you grab her staff and chop her head off Khurza... We'll need proof and a reminder for them not to follow us."

Once inside Pomin sniffs and moves crap away from a pouch. "I'll take this since she's dead and can't use it..." Pomin states grabbing an apothecary kit.

As you are not overly pressed for time you perform a pretty thorough search of the tents. You find a mixed assortment of trade goods, presumably taken from a number of different caravans and barges over the last few weeks but those are too bulky to move quickly by yourselves. Asides from those in the storage tent you find a total of 250 Shields in various coins and gems and hidden in among some of the crates you find a particularly finely made warhammer (apply Dwarven Craftsmanship).

The other tent was obviously the witches personal tent, a small bed made from various animal skins sits at one side and various fetishes and talismans dangle from the roof of the smokey interior. Next to the bed there is a small bench which seems to be where she mixed and prepared various concoctions. A quick search through her belonging turns up enough supplies for two sets of Herbs of Healing, two flasks of poison and a Health elixir.
Jul 31, 2019 3:20 pm
"We should burn the witch's possessions. Not useful for anything but dark magics." Indeed, Jabari seems squeamish of the witcher's possessions. He plucks the pieces of ritual perephernalia from the roof one by one, holding each fetish and talisman with two fingers as if it were a soiled pair of breeches, and stuffing them into a burlap sack. He then drops the sack into the goblin fire pit, ready to light it before the group departs. He leaves the bench of herbs and poultices alone for now. "Not sure if we can trust these herbs and potions. What do you two think?"
Jul 31, 2019 7:35 pm
"That witch was no fool, I'd wager these work as intended." Khurza overlooks the medicines, noting some look superior to what she has used in the past. "The majority of their supplies are stolen anyway, quite the collection." She holds up the hammer, feeling it's heft in her hands. She decides to keep this for now, it would make a fine deal, or a the very least should go back to it's owner assuming they are alive.
OOC:
I am guessing the warhammer is the one from the book with heavy melee as the skill needed.

Also 250 shields or silver ;)

Yeah, it looks brand new so it probably never saw it's owner or was made with the intention of being sold.

250 Silver Shields....to clarify those are coins not shields made from silver :)
Aug 1, 2019 5:25 pm
Jabari leaves the herbs and potions for now. "I really should patch myself up," the man admits. "Maybe in a bit... Mr. Pomin, you promised a cut of the spoils if I helped you fight this band, so I'll take you up on that offer. Not much we can do with the trade goods." Jabari approaches the stump where the three adventurers have been piling silver and gems. "Does your--our--employer expect us to return them somehow? What about these gems and coins? Or should I take my cut of those?"
OOC:
Looks like it breaks down to 83/83/84.

Ha ha! I can take 83 if that works for you two. If we sell the hammer, a third of that, too, I guess.
Jabari laughs at the proverb, but the laughter is quickly replaced by coughing as a small trickle of blood escapes the corner of his mouth. "Your people have sages as wise as my own." He regards the piles of trade goods they'll be forced to leave behind. "Shame to just leave these things here for any bandit to find. But unless we come across a passing wagon train, I suppose we'll just have to leave it to the wolves."

OOC:
That's true, it's worth a tidy sum.

Pomin stows a few of the animal skins using them to protect the various fetishes and talismans regardless of if they're useful he didn't want to leave them behind for someone else to use as well as the concotions. That done he looks to the others about the discussion of employee and payments.

"We're here for the head and reduction of raiding attacks on the waterways, additional bonus for the information about her co conspriator would need to be negotiated, drawing an concise map and escorting people to come back for the goods is up to the city lord and the merchants to discuss. What we've found I figure that we take is a bonus that we can 'expense off' there was no clause about our employer paying for our furneral or injuries to be mended though so I figure this money and items we take work towards that. I think you should be also paid for the official job proper we've lost sevderal along the way not due to death but the objective seemed unattainable without you." Pomin finally states.

"As for the injuries."

"I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain "
Pomin sings a whimsical look of mischief on his battered face.

Backstory alert!
Jabari regards Khurza for a moment then smiles broadly. "Now it's my turn for a proverb: It is the fletcher's knife that sends the twig to war." As he continues, he crouches beside the fire pit and rummages through his pack. "You see, I have an enemy. He's the sultan of a land far to the south and across an ocean from here." Jabari pauses as he pulls a bundle from his pack and unwraps a flint and steel. "This sultan is a tyrant. His armies constantly harassed my people--a bunch of peaceful herders. We insisted that we pay tribute to him, but we refused." Jabari begins striking the flint and steel together, sending sparks toward the fire pit. "A few months back, my people were finally destroyed--wiped out by this sultan's armies. I... was the only one to survive. I should have fought to my death. But an infernal spirit--what we call a djinni--denied me an honorable death while the rest of my people were slaughtered. I fled... here." Sweat drips from the man's nose as he struggles to get the fire to ignite. "Now I need to unite the other tribes against this sultan. But they'll never follow me unless I regain my honor. And that is what I aim to do in your cold lands. I've come to realize that I am no longer a twig. I am an arrow--" Finally, a spark catches, and the goblin fetishes burst into flames. "--one that will fly straight to the sultan's heart."

Jabari stands back up and grabs up his pack. "Tell me, friends Khurza and Pomin--why is that you have come to kill goblins today?"
Aug 7, 2019 12:03 pm
Pomin adjusts his newly acquired loot in his pack and hops a few times to see if he'll be able to move quickly with the load, "Money, connections, some reputation... Mostly money though. It's mostly what's need to get gilded." Pomin admits ready to beat feet now that they've made an indicator of their previous actions.
Aug 7, 2019 3:12 pm
"Money. I am afraid I do not have my sights set on anything higher, as I have fled the Broken plains as everyone I knew was killed. I in turn killed those responsible." Khurza tries to maintain a neutral expression, pulling out a piece of jerky to keep her kind from dwelling on her sadness. "So I came here, away from those bad memories."
Aug 7, 2019 4:23 pm
Jabari adjusts his pack and nods. "Then we are not too different. Money, connections, reputation--I'll need those, too, if I'm going to unite the Kalishtar tribes of my homeland." He smiles at the other two. "Maybe one day you'll cross back over the seas with me! But until then... where's this employer of yours?"

"Some elf magistrate in Dawnsmoor. He's more likely to have his...assistant handle the matter rather then discuss it himself. I don't care much for him."

"Campaigning wars takes more then just that... several skilled people with specific background and tactical minds and logistic secure route also..." Pomin states frowning and shaking his head with a bit of his past memories, "plus not everyone makes it through to the otherside, sometimes you end up fighting for something that doesn't even come to pass... well if we can distress the assistant and he hasn't hung himself yet from the workload maybe we can make Dawnsmoor a base of operations."
