As you are not overly pressed for time you perform a pretty thorough search of the tents. You find a mixed assortment of trade goods, presumably taken from a number of different caravans and barges over the last few weeks but those are too bulky to move quickly by yourselves. Asides from those in the storage tent you find a total of 250 Shields in various coins and gems and hidden in among some of the crates you find a particularly finely made warhammer (apply Dwarven Craftsmanship).

The other tent was obviously the witches personal tent, a small bed made from various animal skins sits at one side and various fetishes and talismans dangle from the roof of the smokey interior. Next to the bed there is a small bench which seems to be where she mixed and prepared various concoctions. A quick search through her belonging turns up enough supplies for two sets of Herbs of Healing, two flasks of poison and a Health elixir.

"We should burn the witch's possessions. Not useful for anything but dark magics." Indeed, Jabari seems squeamish of the witcher's possessions. He plucks the pieces of ritual perephernalia from the roof one by one, holding each fetish and talisman with two fingers as if it were a soiled pair of breeches, and stuffing them into a burlap sack. He then drops the sack into the goblin fire pit, ready to light it before the group departs. He leaves the bench of herbs and poultices alone for now. "Not sure if we can trust these herbs and potions. What do you two think?"

"That witch was no fool, I'd wager these work as intended." Khurza overlooks the medicines, noting some look superior to what she has used in the past. "The majority of their supplies are stolen anyway, quite the collection." She holds up the hammer, feeling it's heft in her hands. She decides to keep this for now, it would make a fine deal, or a the very least should go back to it's owner assuming they are alive.
OOC:
I am guessing the warhammer is the one from the book with heavy melee as the skill needed.

Also 250 shields or silver ;)

OOC:
Yeah, it looks brand new so it probably never saw it's owner or was made with the intention of being sold.

250 Silver Shields....to clarify those are coins not shields made from silver :)

Jabari leaves the herbs and potions for now. "I really should patch myself up," the man admits. "Maybe in a bit... Mr. Pomin, you promised a cut of the spoils if I helped you fight this band, so I'll take you up on that offer. Not much we can do with the trade goods." Jabari approaches the stump where the three adventurers have been piling silver and gems. "Does your--our--employer expect us to return them somehow? What about these gems and coins? Or should I take my cut of those?"
OOC:
Looks like it breaks down to 83/83/84.

"That fool did not risk his life for them, only for a job done." Khurza shares a wise proverb she developed during her life as a mercenary.
OOC:
I am torn between having Jabari take the smaller share because he's been around longer or giving him the extra because he kept us alive. Tough choices amirite?

OOC:
Ha ha! I can take 83 if that works for you two. If we sell the hammer, a third of that, too, I guess.
Jabari laughs at the proverb, but the laughter is quickly replaced by coughing as a small trickle of blood escapes the corner of his mouth. "Your people have sages as wise as my own." He regards the piles of trade goods they'll be forced to leave behind. "Shame to just leave these things here for any bandit to find. But unless we come across a passing wagon train, I suppose we'll just have to leave it to the wolves."

"We will simply have to tell them to send a caravan to retrieve the goods. It will ultimately be their decision." Khurza does consider it is a rather large amount of goods to just leave. Alas they have no wagon.
OOC:
That's true, it's worth a tidy sum.

Pomin stows a few of the animal skins using them to protect the various fetishes and talismans regardless of if they're useful he didn't want to leave them behind for someone else to use as well as the concotions. That done he looks to the others about the discussion of employee and payments.

"We're here for the head and reduction of raiding attacks on the waterways, additional bonus for the information about her co conspriator would need to be negotiated, drawing an concise map and escorting people to come back for the goods is up to the city lord and the merchants to discuss. What we've found I figure that we take is a bonus that we can 'expense off' there was no clause about our employer paying for our furneral or injuries to be mended though so I figure this money and items we take work towards that. I think you should be also paid for the official job proper we've lost sevderal along the way not due to death but the objective seemed unattainable without you." Pomin finally states.

"As for the injuries."

"I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain "
Pomin sings a whimsical look of mischief on his battered face.
OOC:
I'm going with the impression the Goblin Witch whammies him much like Mike Tyson would do in a fight... I can eat without a straw but I probably still look like shite.
OOC:
Look like only 2 wounds back, sorry bud it's hard out here for a Halfling.

Healing Jabari Avg Verse Check

3 Success, 2 Advantage, 1 Failure, 1 Threat

Total: 2 Success, 1 Advantage

Jabari feels a sense of warmness in the gnome's song, and before it's over, he can't help but hum along. "Neat trick, friend. The griots of my land can do similar feats. If we're set, then, I'll accompany you back to your employer. I do intend to return to my homeland -- just not without an army behind me. For that, I need the barons to know my name..."
OOC:
Will heal 1 strain for the 1 advantage unless Remnant wanted to use it for something else.

I'm about 50% in both pools. So hopefully only one random wild wolf encounter on the way back. eheh....

"An army? You must have truly big plans for such strength." Khurza begins to pack up her supplies and the two heads, preparing for the journey back.
OOC:
The persistent scent of gnome blood spurs on the pack.

Backstory alert!
Jabari regards Khurza for a moment then smiles broadly. "Now it's my turn for a proverb: It is the fletcher's knife that sends the twig to war." As he continues, he crouches beside the fire pit and rummages through his pack. "You see, I have an enemy. He's the sultan of a land far to the south and across an ocean from here." Jabari pauses as he pulls a bundle from his pack and unwraps a flint and steel. "This sultan is a tyrant. His armies constantly harassed my people--a bunch of peaceful herders. We insisted that we pay tribute to him, but we refused." Jabari begins striking the flint and steel together, sending sparks toward the fire pit. "A few months back, my people were finally destroyed--wiped out by this sultan's armies. I... was the only one to survive. I should have fought to my death. But an infernal spirit--what we call a djinni--denied me an honorable death while the rest of my people were slaughtered. I fled... here." Sweat drips from the man's nose as he struggles to get the fire to ignite. "Now I need to unite the other tribes against this sultan. But they'll never follow me unless I regain my honor. And that is what I aim to do in your cold lands. I've come to realize that I am no longer a twig. I am an arrow--" Finally, a spark catches, and the goblin fetishes burst into flames. "--one that will fly straight to the sultan's heart."

Jabari stands back up and grabs up his pack. "Tell me, friends Khurza and Pomin--why is that you have come to kill goblins today?"
Aug 7, 2019 12:03 pm
Pomin adjusts his newly acquired loot in his pack and hops a few times to see if he'll be able to move quickly with the load, "Money, connections, some reputation... Mostly money though. It's mostly what's need to get gilded." Pomin admits ready to beat feet now that they've made an indicator of their previous actions.
Aug 7, 2019 3:12 pm
"Money. I am afraid I do not have my sights set on anything higher, as I have fled the Broken plains as everyone I knew was killed. I in turn killed those responsible." Khurza tries to maintain a neutral expression, pulling out a piece of jerky to keep her kind from dwelling on her sadness. "So I came here, away from those bad memories."
Aug 7, 2019 4:23 pm
Jabari adjusts his pack and nods. "Then we are not too different. Money, connections, reputation--I'll need those, too, if I'm going to unite the Kalishtar tribes of my homeland." He smiles at the other two. "Maybe one day you'll cross back over the seas with me! But until then... where's this employer of yours?"
OOC:
Jabari's not touching the healing items the witcher left behind, so one of you should feel free to take them. My meta-brain knows they're probably OK, but he's too weirded out by them.

"Some elf magistrate in Dawnsmoor. He's more likely to have his...assistant handle the matter rather then discuss it himself. I don't care much for him."
Aug 7, 2019 6:56 pm
"Campaigning wars takes more then just that... several skilled people with specific background and tactical minds and logistic secure route also..." Pomin states frowning and shaking his head with a bit of his past memories, "plus not everyone makes it through to the otherside, sometimes you end up fighting for something that doesn't even come to pass... well if we can distress the assistant and he hasn't hung himself yet from the workload maybe we can make Dawnsmoor a base of operations."
OOC:
I'm taking anything of value that's light or useful.
