Wheezing, Erevain pulls himself to his feet. Seeing that Alalla is alright, he coughs, then sets his feet in a wide stance and hunkers down, shield above his head. It begins to glow an emerald green. "Ug! Have a lift!"

Casting Jump on Ug. He needs to touch Ug to cast the spell, so the idea is to use the shield as springboard. That should get him up in the rafters for his 2nd turn. No Athletics check required.

Ug dashes towards erevain hurling two hand axes as he runs. The first flies true and buried itself deep in the creatures jaw and the second embeds itself harmlessly in a rafter above its head. With a Goliath leap Ug lands on erevain shield and pushes off into the air landing nimbly on the upper rafters. Maul held firmly in both hands Ug breaths out on his weapon once more covering it with frost. He then slams into the mass of bones. Ug doesn’t count this thing as a mommy. It falls battered and broken from the rafters landing with a crunch on the stone floor.

Ug deals 72 damage (lethal?) and knocks mommy prone.[color="blue"]

The bone monster staggers under the barrage of handaxes and arrows. When Ug lands near it, it lashes out with elongated hooks, but lands only one blow against the goliath. It isn't enough to slow Ug down in the least. As the maul falls for the last time, the creature once more explodes into dust (After resistances, Ug takes a total of 35 damage). This time the creature does not reform.

Alalla stiffly collects her weapons, then holds a wad of bandaging to the wound in her shoulder. It still feels like she's being hung from the ceiling by it.

"Mommy always comes back," Al repeats, watching the girl dance. "That thing isn't dead, but maybe we can get at least a short rest before it... grows back, or whatever. Maybe if we sweep it up and set it on fire that will dissuade it? It worked on the zombies and trolls."

Fergy thinks hard trying to see if he knows anything about this type of creature and if it can come back, or what might keep it dead.

Examining the bone dust, Fergy finds that it still resonates with stubborn necromantic energy. It seems that while the creature sustained damage heavy enough to temporarily destroy the body, it will eventually reform. How soon, he does not know. It could take an hour, or it could take nearly half a day.

Unfortunately, he is unsure how to keep it from reforming.

Shrugging, Fergy says, "Stand back, I'm going to be awesome."

Fergy casts firebolt at the pile of remains a few times to see what happens.

"Great. I'm going to watch the door, someone watch the dust. We'll switch off and rest as long as we can." Al walks stiffly back to her chair at the entrance. She frowns at the blood spattering its cushion, then kicks it aside and stands at attention instead.

Fergy's fire singes the floor, but whether it has affected the dust is hard to tell.

The party rests as long as they can, taking turns watching the dust suspiciously. Meanwhile, Sehriya continues to float across the floor, sometimes humming, sometimes straightening the furniture - though her efforts don't seem to make the place any tidier.

When the bone creature finally rematerializes five hours later, it does so quickly. In just moments it is back, bone mandibles clattering.

"Alright," Zenithral says firmly, standing up, bow in hand. "I've had enough!" His eyes glow and his whole quiver ignites with light (Zenithral regains 13 hit points). His arm is a blur and his arrows glow fiercely as he fires a volley of radiant and shadowy projectiles at the thing. (It takes 79 piercing damage and 10 psychic damage. It must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or be unable to see further than 5 ft. for 1 round.) After his barrage, he falls to his knees from exertion. (Strain: Zenithral is prone.)

With the undead monster dispatched once more, the party manages to get the rest needed to continue on. The time passes strangely, however, and the heroes experience strange dreams and thoughts while they sleep, all the while accompanied by Sehriya's quiet voice. Alalla, in particular, feels the weight of this disturbing place weigh down on her, but with characteristic stoicism manages to shove the feeling aside.

When they rise and prepare to continue their journey, the companions feel a strange mix of emotions at the thought of any more time spent in this terrible place.

Long rest achieved, and everyone gains Inspiration! However, due to this HORRIBLE NASTY AWFUL PLACE everyone gets back only SIX hit dice. So if you ran out, you've only got 6 to work with today. If you had 2 left, now you have 8, etc.

Ug catches up on some much needed sleep. He didn’t even wake up during the second attack.
Ug uses has 4 hit dice before the rest, used all 10

Unable to catch much sleep, Zenithral spends much of the time repairing the dozens of arrows he's fired off. As he does, he gets into a rhythmic trance, scraping wood, wrapping twine and tapping in iron arrowheads. The room seems a little lighter with each arrow, and the rest feels fulfilling despite the brooding atmosphere of the Hand.

When everyone is ready, he stands, quiver somewhat refilled. "Let's get out of here," Zenithral says lightly.

"Please," Alalla says, massaging her temples. "I'm going to start chewing on my arm if we have to stay in this tower much longer." Her voice is flat and devoid of humour or sarcasm. "If that bone thing doesn't beat me into the ground first, that is."
