I will be on a family trip from 6 Oct through 11 Oct, and will have limited access. I should be able to check in at least once a day when back at the hotel, but my participation will be otherwise diminished.

Took the scout subclass for rogues...
-added average (5) hp + con (2) instead of rolling (total from 17 to 24)

Since we just leveled, I've been thinking of changing an Eldritch Invocation: swapping out Fiendish Vigor [8 temp HP] for Improved Pact Weapon [sword is a spellcasting focus and gets +1 bonus to its attack and damage rolls, and the weapon you conjure can be a shortbow, longbow, light crossbow, or heavy crossbow]. Since he's a Hexblade, it makes sense. Thoughts?

Seems like a good idea, especially if you want to do something in your other hand instead of hold a spell focus, like holding a shield or dual-wield. I agree with you that Fiendish Vigor is best at low levels. The +8 temp hp is nice, especially since it can reset between fights or traps or whatnot, but as your own HP has grown and our party healing resources are improving, its value is decreasing.
