With one hand, Yillia gestures to the others to widen their formation and guides her own mount upwards. The beast must be around somewhere..

[ +- ] Aerial Mounted Combat
Group 2: You're all within a single actions Move. With an DC 15 Intimidate check, you can try and force the Manticore towards Group 3, getting them into range one round sooner.

Group 3: You are 240' away and will need to move at full speed (Move 60', Dash 120') two entire rounds to get into combat range.

Once you are in range, melee will be tough unless you end your Mounts move within Melee range (I reserve the right to mess with you, feather tangled haha) or Prepare an Action and direct your Mount to do a close fly by.

Ranged weapons should be no problem.

Your hippogriffs are faster than the Manticore so no problem keeping in range.

Lastly, add a Perception roll to each of your actions. It is possible for it to escape into the fog near the ground.

Edit: You're all faster than it, which is on Initiative 5. So go hard!

Noticing the other group in the distance, Yillia lowers her hand from the horn and returns it to her bow.
She mutters a quiet incantation and her vision warps, eyes locking onto the Manticore's figure.
(Hunter's Mark [Bonus Action]: +1d6 Dmg to Target, Adv. on Perc.*Surv. Checks to find Target).

Pulling herself upright on her steed, she draws an arrow from her quiver and looses it towards the creature.

Arrow issued, Yillia directs her mount to circle the beast, giving it a wide birth.

Yillia's arrow seems to hit the creature only a glancing blow (AC 14). She loses sight of it momentarily.

If everyone attacking the creature loses sight of it, it will get away. Hence the Perception checks. However, if anyone makes their check, everyone can still attack it, as you are assumed to coordinate your efforts.

Xella calls out towards the manticore. "Stand down!" The light of the sun glints off the leaf motif on her shield as she tries to force it back towards the other group into a more favorable position.

She may be small but she is fierce.

Xella flies in front of the manticore, her hippogriff snapping in fury, and the manticore turns towards the other group. She wisely methods her eye on the beast. (Suceess on the DC 13 Perception check; no longer any danger of it escaping this round.)

Group 3 is now only one round away from melee range, I.e., a full round of Dash and you can join the battle the next round. Ranged attacks are allowable during movement, since it is your mount that is doing the moving.

Reminded: Group 2 is (Sorgrimm, Yillia, and Xella) and Group 3 is (Balak, Felicia, and Mhorva)

Correct. My intention is that this round your Mount can get really close but not close enough for a melee attack. After your hippogriff's move this round, you can attack this round and you'll be within 20' or so.

Felicia is able to attack from 120 feet because Eldritch Blast of awesomeness. Mwahahaha.
Felicia digs her heels slightly into her mount, only using a bit of its capable motion to get her just close enough to attack. With one hand on the saddle's horn, her other points forward, wrapping the manticore in baleful magics before a crackling bolt of energy streaks out towards the beast.

Casting hex at the Manticore, cursing its dexterity, as a bonus action (90' range). Then casting eldritch blast as her action (120' range).

Balak switches from hammer to javelin, and he groans, his eyes turning bright red.

He takes the javelin if he is in range and throws it with caution to the wind.

Balak's javelin sticks into the side of the manticore, dealing 8 damage.

Total damage taken: 22

Felicia and Balak both momentarily lose sight of the beast, but are able to keep track of it.

Sorgrimm is up, and Mhorva, then the Manticore.
