Felicia and Yillia see nothing obvious, until Sassy points them out. There are shapes under the murky water, maybe several humanoid forms.

"Well, we can go get the rest of those upstairs and see what lies beneath or I can toss a rock and see what happens or we can all walk away slowly, but what fun would that be. This place is hidden for a reason and I after being a punching bag by the previous owner would like to find out."

While the others are investigating the secret door, Araaz questions the Genasi about his occupation and the reason for his presence here at this fort that seemed to be occupied by pirates or whoever they were. He is also intrigued by the genasi as he has never seen one of their race before other than in historical txts at the monastery. "My name is Araaz, good sir. May I have the pleasure of knowing yours? I have never met a genasi before and I’d like to learn more about your race? What brings you to this fort, and at the same time as these men who seem to be pirates of some kind?"

"Shoalar Quanderil, well met. I'm afraid I can't tell you much about my people, we are quite rare, and I've only met a handful in my whole life. As to these people, I understand they do have a reputation. They claimed to patrol the river and keep it safe, but I'm not sure how much protection they actually gave. Still, they have treated me well since I moored, bringing a passenger and some supplies."

Want to roll Insight against these claims?

OOC:
Berci is not against convincing! I’m doing a lot of "He’ll wait it out" only cause I’m busy. And don’t want him to just become stagnant. Need to make a notebook or something to keep track of it all. Looks like spooky zombies are gonna come crawling

Araaz bows his head slightly disappointed, "That is unfortunate that I can not learn more about your race. In the monastery where I grew up, we had a manuscript or 2 about your race, but they only gave vague descriptions and hints. Forgive me if this is a forward or rude question, but Is it true, from your experiences, that different members of your race have an affinity to the different elements and can manipulate them to your advantage?"
Araaz cocks his head slightly out of curiosity, asking the genasi, "You mentioned a passenger and supplies? Did you bring them here, or were they delivered to you by these men? Do you come here often to this keep? Do you know of any unsavory business that might be going on inside?"
OOC:
Araaz will ask these questions throughout the time he converses with the genasi, not necessarily all at once. Sorry DM!!! And I would love to roll Insight. The mention of a passenger when the others seemed to be looking for someone has piqued Araaz’s interest.

"I'm ready with my bow if you throw something". Yillia looks back up the stairs, there was definitely a possibility of alerting the others if it all went haywire
May 3, 2019 3:02 pm
Sassy gets a medium sized rock and prepares to throw it in.

Before I do this can anyone get a good count on how many there are?
OOC:
As for several was I able to get a count?

New perception roll if needed.

Araaz

The genasi simply hand waves and ignores your further questions. "I do not think your friends are coming back. Perhaps you can push my boat away from the dock?"

Berci
Did you go with the others or stay with Araaz? They're out of sight and probably hearing from each other.

Two to one odds, we got this. "she says giving bardic inspiration to the other two (d6 inspiration) while thinking we can always retreat back up the stairs.

She pulls her rapier and holds the stone with the other. "ready?"
She will throw the stone in unless one of them objects or says they are not ready.

OOC:
@qralloq, Berci is with Araaz and the genasi. Otherwise we would prob both be in the secret passage with the others.

Recap: Yillia, Felicia, and Sassy are underground, about to attack either merfolk or the undead. Berci and Araaz and entertaining the genasi, out of sight and hearing. Xella is I'm not sure where.

Action!

Seeing no objections she takes the stone and throw it into the water.
OOC:
Just for informational sake how far are they from the secret door and how far is that from the other group?
May 6, 2019 2:34 am
The water explodes and could as the creatures scramble to the surface, claw like hands digging into the edge of the stone ground.

Initiative please.
[ +- ] Map of the keep
OOC:
You are underground where the entrance is in the middle of the keep to the map top left. They are more than a hundred feet away at the boat. There is a building between you, and if they hear anything (dubious at best) it will likely lead them away to the river entrance of the stream.
