You awaken to another blustery and frigid day. The temperatures begin below freezing.
OOC:
You lose your levels of exhaustion thanks to the long rest. I will ask for con saves again should you do any long distance marching.
What do you do?
Oct 25, 2018 3:32 pm
OOC:
if the fires still going
Bebaral will warm himself by the fire.
OOC:
else
habbhbh is it colder then yesterday? Bebaral puts on his warmest looking attire.

Say, last night i thought i heard something, There Rumors that undead aren't to far away, do you think they migrated this way?
Oct 25, 2018 4:51 pm
Gu'lorg would have meditated and read his spellbook in the morning, in preparation for the day. He would also have continued to investigate his new arcane focus (the staff of defense), viewing its glass craftmanship.

When Droop'lorg awakens, Gu'lorg would have talked with him a bit about training him with some simple cantrips, and then they would both pray to Bargrivyek. After their prayers, they would join the little man by the fire.

You heard something? Do you have anything else to go on with that? What did it sound like?
Oct 25, 2018 6:39 pm
Nine has been standing motionless near the fire from the time his watch ended until people begin to wake and move about. Fair morning. Nine is very curious to know what sort of sounds you heard as well, B-b-ebaral. Would you like to explain?
Oct 25, 2018 7:10 pm
Rubbing his hands towards the fire, I'm not sure, it kind of sounded like wispering? maybe mummers? It was getting late i coulnd't make them out.
Oct 26, 2018 9:13 am
I raise my head from the Urmon's Journal that I was reading since my watch ended.

— By the way, I identified this potion here. I put it on the ground near me. It will make the person that drinks it invisible for an hour or until he performs some aggressive action against someone. Honestly, I'm surprised to see it out here... In Neverwinter it would cost around two hundred gold pieces. Maybe this Glasstaff created it himself, there was an alchemy laboratory afterall.
OOC:
Leylin is using unassembled tent as pillow and has wrapped bedroll around his shoulders for warmth. He is also keeping drink in his mug almost hot with Prestidigitation.
"Cleaning services" (also Prestidigitation) are offered to anyone that is interested. Leylin himself removed all dust and dirt from himself and his equipment both before and after meditation
— On a side note, I can obtain information about magical items, but this takes at least an hour of time and I can't be disturbed during the process... Just for the future information.
Oct 26, 2018 2:01 pm
Bebaral interested with the information.

Wow. Thats a nifty trick how does one go about learning how to do that? Having something like that could greatly help me out in my travels and study. But you are right depends on who would sell such a concoction it could easly go for more gold.
Nov 5, 2018 12:57 am
OOC:
DM prompt...what’s the plan? Heading out to Agatha’s?
Nov 5, 2018 1:05 am
— Trick? Are you sure that you're student of Arcane? I look at the Bebaral bemusedly. If you are, then you should know about the spell called 'Identify'. My technique replicates its effects, but through outher means. That's all I can say.

I stand up from the tent-"pillow" and begin assembling my equipment.

— We should move out... I pause for a second. Right, I should probably tell you what the 'errand' is about... I need to visit a banshee that lives around this ghost town. So I would understand if some would choose stay begind while I'm doing that.
Nov 5, 2018 2:45 pm
OOC:
I'm back, and so is our GM. Great! :)
While I've been quiet so far I raise my head, alert, at the mention of the deadly ghost creature. As I see that everyone is busy packing and chatting, I calm down and take a second to analyze what I've heard in my semi-consciousness.
— A banshee? We need to go visit a banshee?! By The Dragon's tail, you don't show up unprepared to a banshee! I'm sure we can handle that together, but it requires some preparation to make sure that no one gets caught hearing its wail...
Nov 5, 2018 3:22 pm
— We're not going to fight it. I keep gathering my stuff. At least - I was told that she is open to communication. And that exactly what I was sent here to do. To communicate with her.

I stop. Look around my companions slowly. And add:
— With words. Not weapons. Or magic. Words.

Gu’lorg is brimming with excitement at the prospect of this experience.
Nov 5, 2018 8:05 pm
Nine finishes gather what little belongings it has and looks to Lelin, A banshee that is prone to talking sounds like an interesting experience. This one would be glad to join you in your communications with it.

Once camp is broken the group heads out into the cold and follows the old trail leading to the northwest into the Neverwinter wood. Based on Sister Garaele's description the lair should be just a few miles outside of town.

The forest grows dark and still as the trail winds deeper into the trees. Heavy vines and thick layers of moss drape the branches, and the air is noticeably colder than it was in the ruined village. The moisture around your nostrils begins to freeze and puffs of fog can be seen as you exhale. Rounding a bend in the trail, you see a screen made from the warped branches of trees standing close together, woven into a dome like shelter in the shadows. A low doorway leads inside.
Nov 5, 2018 11:34 pm
— W-w-wait a s-second. As the dome appears, I focus a second and try to feel if some evil is at work in the area. I suspect that the banshee we mentioned might be around, if not in the hut.
Action: Divine sense
[ +- ] Divine sense
OOC:
Honestly, that class feature is completely lackluster as written. But it feels like the in-game intent is to use it in such occasion.
If I detect something, I'll inform my companion of my discovery. Otherwise, I'll say it seems to be good and joke about drinking tea with a banshee.

Yes, but its not using the part of the weave.. Its.... interesting.

Shiveringly beberal exclaims, "Why cant she live in a normal building in a normal city.. hopepfully it'll be warmer in this cave.
Nov 6, 2018 1:59 am
Sclasclemski sent a note to Ornux
Nov 6, 2018 9:13 am
— N-neverm-mind, we-we're good. I hop-pe this banshee has a teapot on the sto-ove.
While I did not sense anything alarming, I stay alert and look around cautiously for any sign of the dreaded ghost.
Nov 6, 2018 9:53 am
I take out the comb from the backpack and but if in my bosom. After quick check that I look as peaceful as possible, I enter the dome and stop right under the doorway.

— Lady Agatha? We came in peace and with hope to acquire some of your knowledge.
OOC:
Following is if she answers or appears before us:
I present the comb before me.

— This is but a token of our appreciation. We hope it grants us some goodwill from you, milady.
Nov 6, 2018 8:02 pm
You enter to find a home of sorts, sheltered within the dome of woven branches. It is sparsely furnished with chests, shelves, a table, and a reclined couch, all of it old and of elven craft.

The air grows cold, and a powerful feeling of dread grips you. a cold pale light flickers in the air rapidly taking on the form of a female elf, her hair and robes waving in a spectral wind. She might have been beautiful once, but a hateful expression twists her features now. "Foolish mortals," she snarls. "What do you want here? Do you not know it is death to seek me out?"

Upon seeing the comb, the ghostly figure smiles with cold amusement. "Very well," she says. "I know that you seek many things. Ask me one question, and I will give you an answer."
Nov 6, 2018 8:04 pm
Bebaral stands behind "no" and tries to not show hes a bit afraid.
Nov 7, 2018 10:58 am
— I'd like to know about the spellbook of a mage named Bowgentle, what is its location? I ask Agatha.
Nov 8, 2018 1:55 am
Agatha looks at Leylin as he asks the questions and responds swiftly, Hmm, curious, I traded the book, to a necromancer named Tsernoth from the city of Iriaebor. That was more than a hundred years ago. I do not know what became of the book afterward. She begins to float backwards from the party, Now, leave me be. Her words echo out as her incorporeal form floats through the back of the domicile.
Nov 8, 2018 2:38 am
Gu’lorg takes in the experience, and as he leaves, he contemplates on meeting her on non-hostile terms.

Perhaps warfare is not the answer to every problem...

He thinks about this, but keeps it to himself so his companion Droop does not hear these thoughts that go against thousands of years of goblinoid thinking.
Nov 8, 2018 7:35 am
After receiving the answer I bow politely and leave the dome. Outside I take some writing tools and write down Agatha's answer.

— And that's it. Now we can return to town and receive the reward. I turn back to my companions and address them, while also warming my fingers with the breath. If I remember correctly, there was a plan to visit some 'well'?
Nov 8, 2018 2:39 pm
Ye old owl well, i think we passed it on the way over. Bebaral claims shivvering as we leave the dome back into the brutal wind.
Nov 9, 2018 2:26 am
OOC:
To the Well? It is probably mid to late morning FYI
Nov 9, 2018 9:40 am
OOC:
How long would the journey take to this well?
Nov 9, 2018 1:32 pm
Nine cocks his head curiously at Leylin, That is all you seek? That information is very old. Do you not need to make sure that the book is still property of the necromancer the ghost spoke of?
Nov 9, 2018 2:29 pm
— I didn't seek this information. That was the task I was entrusted with. In this I'm but a messenger, not a seeker. I answer while unfurling the map and checking our path to this 'Owl Well'.
Nov 9, 2018 2:32 pm
OOC:
idk probably a few hours from where we are
Nov 9, 2018 2:48 pm
OOC:
Let's just head over to the well. Gu'lorg wants to research more magic items.
Nov 9, 2018 3:07 pm
OOC:
yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa magic!?!?!!! and probably undead.. but Magicc!! /spiritfingers
Nov 9, 2018 4:00 pm
— I think I lost track of our path at some point, I'll check the map with you.
On the way to the Well, I'll try to help those who are too cold with my magic tricks (Prestidigitation).
OOC:
Unless there's more to do before we go and follow Leylin on the way to that Well, I'm OK to move to the next story beat.
Nov 9, 2018 5:03 pm
OOC:
Leylin is also ready to move
Nov 10, 2018 3:51 am
OOC:
It’s a full days travel from where you are to reach the Well. You will reach it after sunset if you decide to march straight through...so you can

1) march 8 hours and reach your destination after nightfall

Or

2) March until sunset, rest, then finish the travel and reach the Well by early morning the next day

First 2 consecutive votes or 3 total is the selection chosen
Nov 10, 2018 8:35 am
OOC:
Bebaral like the sun so option 2, could we rest in the village or is that to far away?
Nov 10, 2018 9:43 am
OOC:
Rest is important :) 2
Nov 10, 2018 1:30 pm
OOC:
Definitely option two. While resting in the cold like this is dangerous, I prefer to reach our destination with time to scout before we rush into it.
Nov 10, 2018 2:06 pm
OOC:
Before resting Leylin will offer his services to identify any one or two items they wish to know more about.
I don't remember - does anyone still has that longsword from Redbrand's monter's stash?

Also in the morning Leylin will play a little tune and himself, Spark and Gulorg will have 9 temp HP.
Nov 10, 2018 2:06 pm
OOC:
You could rest in the village and travel in the morning. If you get up early you will reach the Well by late afternoon.
