Kama shakes his head. "Last time when we were underneath the manor, those skeletons didn't rise back up again." Then he adds, after a pause, "At least, as far as I know. I suppose we could con-se-curate the bones, but I ain't got no holy water.

"That boom must have been heard throughout the mine," he continues. "Maybe we ought to barricade ourselves in here and wait through the night, just in cast someone comes to check."

I take a long moment (about a minute), allowing my senses to reach outwards, towards the inner mine as well as around us, searching for any signs of humanoids as well as their approximate number.
OOC:
Using Primeval Awareness. Should give info on humanoids (#s and distance) within 5 miles. Hope I'm using this right.

He chugs his last healing potion and says, brightening, "Anybody for the other door?"

"Are they together, or in separate groups? Anyway, there's a door across the hall here -- and we can always double back and take the second passage from the entry cave."

Kama also steps into the hallway, following behind Stormsong. "Depending on what we see when you open that door," he says, "don't immediately go in."

"What, wading into the center of a dozen skeletons was a bad idea?" snickers the Goliath. He takes a listen. If he hears nothing, he'll open the door and peer inside, if not locked.

Stormsong hears nothing at the door, so he opens it. This chamber was once an office or storeroom of some kind. A large stone counter bisects the room, set with three dusty balance scales made of iron. Cubbyholes carved into the north wall are stuffed with dusty paper scraps. Several long dead corpses - gnomes and orcs by their look - are sprawled across the floor.

Kama closes his eyes and expands his other senses, opening his heart and mind to the presence of otherworldly beings.

Kama senses nothing amiss in the immediate area. It would appear that these are not animated undead, they're simply dead.

Kama gives the all-clear. "You guys check it out. Maybe one of these rooms can serve us as a camp. I'll keep an eye out while you search." He heads back north to the edge of the chamber with the stirges, keeping to the hallway and maintaining a watch.

"Scales...I wonder if this was some sort of ore exchange."

He gently looks through the paperwork in the cubbies, examines the scales, and any books lying around. He'll also randomly press things around the shelves, under the counter, and along the walls, looking for secret areas.

"Looks clean to me, but it's locked. I'm going to bust it open..."
