Chapter 5: Return to the Surface

The woman stares at Elfog as the dwarf speaks in a different language.

Mai'ngor watches the two struggle, unsure what to do, for fear of harm to either one.

After a bit of silence, the woman finally reacts. With a pleading scream, she lifts the dagger high in an obvious attempt to stab down at the angry dwarf.

"A little help!" Elfog pleads with the others. "I don't want to be hurting her!"

The dagger trembles in the woman's grip, hovering above her head. With a river of tears matching the flow under the ferry, she stares unblinking at Elfog without really looking at the dwarf. Through the window of her eyes lies panic, fear, and confusion.

The woman's arm in Elfog's grip twitches. Not in an attempt to escape, but as means of gesturing. It doesn't get far.

With his free hand Elfog will make a grab for the gold chain around Hunter's necklace.

The woman glares at Elfog. "Unhand me, you stumpy little turd!" she hisses, cheeks flushing red in both anger and embarrassment.

Without releasing his grip on the necklace, Elfog will kneel down besides Hunter... "Can you get this thing off of ya?" he asks, gently tugging at the chain.

Hunter closes her eyes and mumbles something incoherent, though a choice curse or two in dwarvish might be understood. She lets go of her dagger and reaches with her free hand over to Elfog's grip, where she gives a weak tug as if to gesture something obvious.

No longer concerned with restraining hunter the barbarian grabs the chain with both hands. Taking a few deeps breaths his face starts to redden as he attempts to rip the chain in two.
