(Sanora will repeat last move, pummeling the frog before it tries to eat her)

Matthias blasts the frog, and it groans painfully, making a desperate attempt to swallow it's prey.

Elmo slips around frog e to flank frog f with sanora. Frog c lashes at Elmo as he makes the heroic attempt, but it only licks his mail armour and falls flat in the mud from the bad taste.

Elmo swipes at frog f with his battleaxe from his advantageous poisition, and it rolls away from Sanora. His axe swings with such velocity that it hits the frog on Darf.

Frog C jumps high into the air and lands by Anrin, a potentially tasty morsel. It bites hard on his crunchy frame, and Anrin is grappled by it's teeth and long tongue.

Another frog grapples Sanora, and each frog is now singlemindedly focused on eating.

The frogs are trying to crunch their prey in their slippery mouths, but they are too big to swallow. Darf pries the teeth away, and Matthias' body is somewhat tough, unlike healthful food.

"Pathetic. Must we wait while you fall prey to toads? Have at you!!"

Turuko strikes it squarely and the frog falls around Matthias. He brings a foot down on it's head, and recoils from the moat grime.

John flanks with Darf, felling the strange creature. Kobort pushes darf out of the way, grunting "pUNY one!", and strikes at the other frog.

Darf keeps his distance from the frogs knowing that if he tests the boundries he may fall victim to a strike he can not handle. Instead of russing in, he takes a flash of time to focus then hastily kneels and takes a dagger from the straddle on his boot. As he comes up he swiftly flings the knife right in between the eyes of frog C.

Rolls

Attack roll for frog C - (1d20+5)

(6) + 5 = 11

Dagger damage - (1d4+3)

The dagger shoots between Sanora and Anrin (half cover), but your aim was a little high. The frog continues to gulp at Anrin, unaware.
Aug 20, 2015 1:11 pm
Sanora at first makes an attempt to free herself from the toad(s?) gripping her, but decides to use the proximity to her advantage and just strikes for what she hopes is a pair of blows that will end her entanglement.

"Your choice in prey was poorly made toad!"

Sanora's shortsword arm is compromised by the grapple, but a blow to the head injures the frog, and it closes it's eyes for a few seconds in a recoil. It's relex is to pull Sanora closer into it's jaws.

Matthias, seeing Anrin and Sanora being devoured makes a snap decision to assist Anrin first since he has less backup than Sanora does. Holding his hand forward he recites a few arcane words and glowing magical bolts dart forth from his hand, swerving unerringly into the frog holding Anrin.

Frog C is toast, and withers as if it has lost moisture.

Elmo stumbles through the mud to flank with Sanora, and goes for a killing blow. The frog responds by crunching Sanora with it's teeth, but it is too weak to cause much pain.

Turuko dashes in to flank with Kobort, trying to steal the limelight from Elmo. His staff catches in the mud, but he managed to connect a final blow with his heel, knocking the final frog out.

All participating characters gained 46 experience points

There doesn't seem to be any sign of life around the moathouse. By the west tower is a door which is hanging off its hinges, at the end of a short, rotten drawbridge.

Elmo is the first to speak: "We stick together at all costs. The frogs were together because they were hunting for food but I doubt that's the last of them!" His head seems to have cleared and he speaks with an authoritative tone, although panting.

"Have appreciation, without me and Kobort here, you would surely be a meal".
Aug 20, 2015 5:00 pm
Matthias will nod in agreement with Elmo, "Well said, we won't last long if we don't work together and keep our eyes open."

Matthias will speak before anyone can take offense to Turuko's comment, "You both certainly did well, but this was a group effort, none of us would even be alive still if we hadn't worked together. So long as we're here we must watch out for each other.", he then looks around at his companions, who are bloodied and exhausted, "That being said, we may want to find a safe place to catch our breath before we proceed into bandit infested ruins."

Short Rest Healing - (1d6-1)

"And Jaroo said there may be cultists nearby. So FAR away it is. I can find a save haven in the heavy brush off the road we climbed on our way here. We need food and water to regather our strength"
Aug 21, 2015 4:30 pm
Anrin smiles through the pain of his wound, but is terser than usual, "Yes, we should work together - and rest." He looks in the direction Elmo suggested, ready to move with the party. Could he have been so wrong about this man's character? Was it just the alcohol that changed him for the worse?
Aug 21, 2015 7:15 pm
The party reaches a low thicket where there is ample room to rest. Elmo walks a circle around the group to scout for danger, and returns, quickly reaching for his waterskin and taking a few swigs, then several more. It seems to satisfy him.

short rest complete - you may roll hit dice
Aug 22, 2015 4:42 pm
Anrin's eyes narrow as he sees Elmo at the 'waterskin'. But for now the paladin has more pressing concerns. He sits surrounded by the low bushes, getting his breath back and working feeling back into the limbs numbed by the frog's horrible maw.

Although still aching himself, the halfling looks around to see if any of his companions are in a worse state than himself. A little healing, anyone? I have 5 HP to dish out to the needy...

I'm going to be afk for the next 48 hours. Anrin will go along with any party decisions, and stick his longsword into anything evil. Also please take whatever you need from my healing pool.

Darf struggles to pull himself to the resting spot, where he plops down with fatigue. he is happy that he gets time to recover and his exaustion is painfully vivid. He says nothing and does nothing but lie there in the blissfulness of rest, waiting for his companions to start moving again

Darf also wishes to look for he blade he threw earlier in combat.
