We'll here's hoping! Does anyone know if 5e has the equivalent of smoke sticks from 3.5? I was hoping to have something I could throw into a building, grounds or room, yell fire and cause some panic in case I ever need a distraction to get in somewhere but I can't seem to find anything.

No worries, I am just thinking ahead and making sure I have a plan for when I inevitably need a distraction or get caught.

I'm starting to plan out my arcane trickster spells. I know I am mostly going to be taking utility spells to help with cover and stealth but I am sorely tempted to take booming blade 2d8+2d6 damage at third level is not too shabby. Message also seems like a really solid utility spell.

@Qralloq: Will a familiar count as an ally for the purpose of sneak attack and pack tactics? If so, I will definitely be taking find familiar. Hell, even if it doesn't I might still take it just so I have some aerial recon available before I sneak in.

No, familiars can't attack so they can't be counted as an ally that way.

That's fine, I thought as much but I wanted to check anyway, thanks! I still might take it though for that sweet, sweet aerial recon but I have some time to work it out.

Hi all! No idea yet what I am playing, but am excited to be here.

Stats: 13, 15, 12, 10, 13, 12. Not great, but not terrible either. I can live with that.

EDIT: I am getting a strong urge to play a dragonborn paladin, although I am tempted to take a variant human instead.

Camp I was second away from picking that. Decided on Dragonborn barbarian instead. Great minds think alike

At this point you could try avatar checks, I.e., posting in here but as your character. Maybe consider a quick "on camera" paragraph of why you are in this town, either permanently, temporarily, or passing through.
