To answer the question you asked me on Discord: Yes, it's a little bit like Pirates of the Carribean, although you guys aren't actual pirates. Think of the Kestrel as the Millennium Falcon. Captain Valrakas is like Han and Chewie rolled into one. And then put the Guardians of the Galaxy on board as the crew haha!

It went straight into wisdom. My character is extremely intelligent and won't know when to shut up. Its going to be a blast! Whats your take on starting with magic items? I only have 575 gold to spend but was thinking about a something magical.

Despite starting at Level 8, no one started with any magic items. The group has only recently gained a few after battling a group of merrows and weresharks, and no doubt there will be more to be found soon.
