Leth glances at Felor. "This look like anything you might recognize?" He asks as he begins to walk towards it and get a closer look.

Leth finds the platform to be made of a high quality, dark grained wood, but does not recognize the symbols or other design elements.

Zangua hears something: a thumping, scraping sound coming from far down the stairwell.

"Maybe visitors," Zangua says, moving to the stairwell to see if something is approaching.

Mordred moves to the doorway and stands beside it, hidden.

From the stairwell the doorman emerges, his severed head tucked against his chest under one arm.

Combat resumes. The party has the initiative, each of you can take an action.

"Oh," says Zangua, shaking his head as he prepares to receive the enemy's charge, "that's not right."

I'm going to remain at the top of the stairs. If the doorman isn't in melee range, I will Ready my action to attack once he nears (adding rolls in case they're triggered).

Zangua thrusts his sword at the creature as it emerges, but it deftly deflects the blade with its free forearm.

"What the-" Leth says in a blend of both shock and disgust. He quickly draws two arrows and releases them one after another at the doorman.

"How do you win a fight against someone that doesn't die?"

Mordred racks his brain for any knowledge of demons that cannot die, and blasts it with a mote of fire.

"I didn't ask for an encore," Domarc remarks. Seeing that Leth still appears hurt, he use a bonus action to cast Healing Word on him. He will then take a moment to study the set up - the circle, sigils, lantern, and statues - does it seem familiar in any way?

Edit - I like it when I roll well after having not touched dice in a while

Leth misses his first shot, then bullseyes an arrow into the creature's neck stump as Mordred's mote of flame flies over its shoulders and scorches the curving wall behind it.

After seeing to Leth's healing needs, Domarc examines the platform carefully. Not all of the markings are familiar to him, but he does recognize some of the core semiotic elements of a levitation spell.

I think just Felor is up?

The doorman bursts into the room and unleashes a full force attack on the first person it lands in front of: Felor, still too frozen with shock to react to the monster's reemergence.

Edit: One claw swipe knocks Felor to the ground, leaving him an easy target for the stinging tail that plunges into a gap in his armor.

Felor, make a CON save. Everybody can take a combat action. The doorman is in the small chamber with you now.

Zangua charges in, trying to force the doorman off Felor. "Maybe we should have thrown the head away!" he suggests to the room as he swings his sword.

Zangua meets the creature with a brutal onslaught, carving deeply into its neck and shoulders and forcing it to stagger back toward the stairwell.

Domarc, Leth, and Mordred are up. Still need a CON check from Felor.

"I think this might be the way up!" Domarc yells, looking from the platform to the hole in the ceiling. Seeing Felor get mauled, he uses healing word on him, then steps onto the platform.
