Just outside the cell. He's not entering the scary place!

Fernal watches with some impatience. Can't just dispel the magic? Obviously she has little knowledge in the matters at hand.

Aelfric
In an instant, the darkness dissipates, and you see Julian kneeling next to a woman who is bound in chains. She is slim, human and perhaps midway between five and six feet tall. Her auburn hair is matted and tangled, and her body shows numerous bruises all over. her clothing is torn and bloodied, telling a story of someone who has endured much pain, only to be kept alive in order to continue the process.

The shackles hold her around the neck, and her hands are encased in an iron clasp that has a chain connecting it to the chains around her feet. As she moves slightly, you hear the sound of chains rattling, indicating that the silence has been dispelled as well.

Wow that nice as she notes the darkness is gone, but is surprised to see the tortured woman there now. I hate giants. She steps in the cells Any remove chains? as she notes there are no locks.

Extending his hand toward the chained figure, Julian spoke words of celestial, more a command than a reasurance, "Be well, friend.", ordering the wounds themselves shut and the body to heal itself.
OOC:
Using my free casting of healing word for the day.
"Your restraints are of a magical nature. Do you know how they can be released? A word perhaps, spoken by your captors if you were ever to be unchained? Ælfric. How did you know how to dispel the darkness?"

The woman is curled knees to chest against the back wall of the small cell. Her thin, but muscular arms hug her knees as she rocks back and forth, mumbling incoherently beneath her breath. You can't quite make out what she is saying, but can see her lips moving. The moment Julian speaks the healing word, her rocking and whispering comes to an abrupt halt. She then raises her head slightly and a sky blue eye opens up and pierces out from behind a curtain of tangled red hair. "Who are you!?" She barks. Social graces have long since been beaten out of her.

I hope I'm not posting out of turn

"As in any age, some people simply can't remember their passwords... so they write them down," he explained to Julian while pointing to the scrawled word on the bugbears' desk.

Ælfric looked over the redhead and wondered what help she could be against the giants.

"Fernal said it, red hair: we hate giants. I'm guessing you do, too. Let's see how we can get those chains off you."

I'm surprised I didn't see that myself when Julian searched the room with that 23 investigation check. XD
"Enemies of your captors, and your liberators. Let us see if they were foolish enough to use the same password for these chains. Asfaroth"

Fernal seems to have lost interest in this cell and now moves over to the next one in line.
OOC:
Does it have darkness too?
May 11, 2019 7:01 pm
OOC:
For some reason I read Julian’s investigation as the cell, not the guard room. Apologies.
Fernal
Yes, the other cells are sheathed in darkness and barred.
May 11, 2019 7:13 pm
Rather than trying to pick the lock for fun and giggles, Korgazhar keys. See others. She ask for the keys to open the next cell.
May 11, 2019 8:12 pm
"I will give you the keys once we free this one, Fernal."
May 11, 2019 8:35 pm
Fernal comes back to the cell. Keys seems she see no reason for delay. She will take them and work the other cells right after.
May 11, 2019 10:04 pm
OOC:
If you are going to attempt to take the keys from Julian, and he elects to refuse, you will need to roll initiative and describe your actions/attacks used.
May 11, 2019 10:06 pm
Yeppers to see if he gives up the useless keys.. LOL

Polaris_AEthernalis sent a note to Ket_Onwall
OOC:
Is Fernal actually approaching Julian and attempting to take the keys or no, because he isn't handing them over at this moment. From his perspective, any of these cells could be trapped, contain dangerous individuals, or otherwise add more unneeded complexity to the current situation, and he doesn't want Fernal to be the one to investigate them at this point based on her actions during the fight with the bugbears.

As in swiping the keys from Julian's hands? They're not currently in his hands, as they were placed elsewhere when you were checking the other cells. A note sent to the DM will confirm this isn't a decision I'm making in response to you trying to swipe them, but something I'd already imagined he'd have done once finding they were not useful in the moment. They're not in sight.
