Rolls

DM Random roll to keep players on their toes - (1d20)

(7) = 7

May 24, 2019 4:14 pm
"Which way to the orc slaves -" Korgazhar was halfway through directing his question to Julian when he stopped abruptly mid-sentence and cocked his head. He held up his hand to the others to signal them to keep quiet, and to back into the open cells to get out of line of sight. He himself did so in the first cell, but raised his own weapon in readiness. He wondered if there was time to hide the bugbear bodies as well. It was evident from his actions that he had heard something approaching.
OOC:
Hide action. Weapon readied to attack any creature that enters range and detects him.

Rolls

Stealth (with disadv) - (1d20+12, 1d20+12)

1d20+12 : (17) + 12 = 29

1d20+12 : (19) + 12 = 31

With disadvantage he says... :8

Julian did not hear what had alerted Korgazhar, but he'd found him to be pragmatic and reliable over the past few days, and so he trusted his judgment in this moment. He motioned the two they'd rescued into the far cell, holding a finger to his lips as though to say "be silent".

Rolls

Dex(Stealth) - (1d20+13)

(1) + 13 = 14

Dex(Stealth)[Ligeia] - (1d20+12)

(7) + 12 = 19

Ælfric sighed softly, preparing for what or who came their way.

Rolls

Stealth (extra +10 from Pass Without Trace) - (1d20+23)

(9) + 23 = 32

Hearing the sudden hush fall and Julian's gesture for silence, Dwendylin did as the others did and backed into the closest available cell as quietly as possible.

Rolls

Stealth (+10 from Aelfric's PWT) - (1d20+12)

(18) + 12 = 30

Fernal is swiftly to Korgazhar side wondering what her heard as she strains her hearing while hiding there with her unflamed rapier drawn.

Rolls

Stealth, Perception - (1d20+9, 1d20+10)

1d20+9 : (2) + 9 = 11

1d20+10 : (20) + 10 = 30

May 24, 2019 11:14 pm
OOC:
Hey @Fernal. Don't you have a +10 to your stealth from Ælfric's Pass Without Trace
May 24, 2019 11:20 pm
OOC:
Smiles.. +9 to stealth, and +10 to Perception. She doesn't have Pass Without Trace. Those are her natural abilities. She is a barbarian type like huntress. She doesn't look exceptionally small next to Korgazhar.

OOC:
Gene, Aelfric's Pass Without Trace is still on, but running out. So we all still get +10 Stealth.

I'd prefer the high rolls during combat :D

Oh I see.. LOL. haven't been adding that so that is 21 and not 11. All that much better.. :)… That 2 was a bit low of roll but her perception makes up for it..:) I'm sure Korgazhar doesn't mind her being next him. Armed or otherwise.
OOC:
I think she can hear bugs crawling across the floor right now.

[ooc]What spell did Ambrosia cast? Prestidigitation, I assume? Or something else? I want the newcomers to remember that you have none of your gear, so only spells with V,S are able to be cast right now.
OOC:
Your assumption is correct, I was sure to make sure Prestidigitation didn't have a material component before i cast it. I'll be sure to include the spell name from now on, my bad.

"Ah, well you see I was asked to do a bit of...reconnaissance on these brutes befoooooore.....oh" Ambrosia handles the spear with a bit of disinterest, before realizing that everyone has gone very still and very quiet. He follows suit
OOC:
Oh whoops, then the total is a 19 with that +10

For the next little while, you get +10 to your stealth rolls, thanks to Aelfric’s Pass Without Trace spell

Korghazar
Peering quickly through the barred window of the cell block, you can see a figure coming from the south tunnel. It appears to be a bugbear. It calls across the large room outside the cell block, a language you recognize as giant.

"Master keeper! Uthgar is late to turnover!"

From the right looms a shadow, and you can hear a low growl from someone, or something, very large.

Movement: Normal
Time In Steading: 45 minutes
May 28, 2019 1:15 pm
Korgazhar recognised the term the bugbear used. One of the prisoners had mentioned someone called the Keeper, who was the source of their torture. It was possible that they'd have to fight this giant keeper soon, with no real way to sneak out of the cell block. In a risky move, whether foolhardy or inspired, and with himself possessing the only humanoid-like voice amongst the party, Korgazhar called out gruffly in what he imagined the bugbear's guard voice would be like.

"Uthgar not late! Come here to turnover!" Korgazhar imitated, in giantish.
OOC:
Damn, that was an utter Deception fail. Better leave it to the bard to do Charisma rolls. Gonna throw in a Persuasion roll and see how that goes.

Korgazhar
"Not Uthgar!" yells the bugbear as he brings his morning star to bear. "Intruder in the cages!!" he yells back down the south hallway.

"Kill him." comes a low, raspy and very deep voice from off to the right, obviously a giant of some sort.

As you watch, you see a hideously fat, partially hunched over hill giant come into view. He moves off to the right while waving his arm toward the cell block.

"Eat well, my pets." he says with a snarling grin. Into view you see a pair of large apes, both perhaps 7 feet tall, with wicked-looking fangs and claws. They snarl as they move toward the cell block door.
May 28, 2019 3:44 pm
"Let them enter before we attack." Korgazhar braced himself to swing his glaive the moment the apes entered the cell block, and nodded at Fernal next to him to ready herself as well. He assumed that as the creatures were lured in, stealthy Aelfric would be able to make short work with his surprise attacks, and that Julian would use his magics accordingly.
OOC:
Readied action, attack first ape through the cell block door. Unless someone else calls out a better course of action, like charging out instead. Posting initiative first, logging out in a bit.

Rolls

Initiative - (1d20+2)

(5) + 2 = 7

"Stay close to me unless you wish to be left behind if things turn sour."
