OOC:
Yeah, that's why I said you can keep or change it depending on when your turn comes up.
Jun 13, 2019 8:37 pm
OOC:
Sorry for repeating. Must not have seen when you initially said that.
Jun 13, 2019 11:19 pm
OOC:
I'd love to keep my last attack but change the target... but I don't think that'll fly. Let's hope the attack below isn't horrid.
Jun 13, 2019 11:46 pm
The strike against the wizard was brutal but only more brutality would win this skirmish.

"Julian may still be alive but I'm not risking getting stoned to death," he thought.

Ælfric darted forward, loosed an assassinating arrow, then ducked into Ambrosia's cell.
OOC:
Moving forward 3 or 4 squares, however many are necessary to get line of sight on Fernal's Bugbear #1, attacking with advantage. If that one is dead already, I'll attack Bugbear #3 also at advantage. After attacking, I'll move into the cell where Ambrosia is. Speed = 35 feet.

Rolls

Longbow w/ advantage, damage, sneak attack - (1d20+9, 1d20+9, 1d8+5, 5d6)

1d20+9 : (19) + 9 = 28

1d20+9 : (5) + 9 = 14

1d8+5 : (1) + 5 = 6

5d6 : (44124) = 15

Elven Accuracy [rerolling the 5] - (1d20+9)

(2) + 9 = 11

Aelfric and Fernal attack the approaching bugbears with deadly accuracy, severely wounding them as they get near. Korgazhar moves to cut down the first two bugbears to arrive, his blade cleaving through both of them before they can even bring their weapons to bear. Rushing past, the half-orc killing machine moves toward the big prize, the hulking Keeper across the room.

Meanwhile, from within the cell block, a streak of fire blasts into the Keeper, igniting his thick hide and filling the chamber with the smell of burning flesh. As he cries out in anger, patting the flames out, he reaches for a massive, giant-sized axe and yet a third stone. All around the approaching bugbears, a technicolor eruption of arcana appears, as Julian hypnotizes two of the bugbears while Ambrosia bathes them in a glittering light that sticks to their forms like a blanket.

As the first round comes to a close, you hear the trampling of feet from the south, as reinforcements arrive. With a grin, knowing his comrades are there to help, bugbear #3 rushes at Fernal and hefts his morning star. With two powerful blows, the spiked balls slam down onto the barbarian, who just manages to deflect the first, but gets clipped by the second.
OOC:
Fernal takes 5 HP piercing damage (halved to 2 HP for raging)
OOC:
Bugbears #1 and #2 fall, #3 is wounded by Aelfric but still lives. #4 and #5 are under the effects of Julian's Hypnotic patter. #3, #4, and #5 are all covered in Faerie Fire, so there is advantage to hit. Everyone can go, but the order is Bugbears, Ambrosia, Keeper, then the rest of the party.

Rolls

Bugbear #3 Attack #1 on Fernal - (1d20+5)

(13) + 5 = 18

Bugbear #3 Attack #2 on Fernal - (1d20+5)

(16) + 5 = 21

Bugbear #3 Damage #1 on Fernal - (2d8)

(64) = 10

Bugbear #3 Damage #2 on Fernal - (2d8)

(11) = 2

[ +- ] Hill Giant Steading - 10
OOC:
Check your positions, let me know if you are off anywhere. And thanks for your patience!
Jun 19, 2019 11:48 pm
OOC:
As Dwen was planning to run back and heal Julian after the boulder toss, any possibility I can be a little further back so I can reach him this round?
Jun 19, 2019 11:56 pm
OOC:
Yeah, I was trying to keep you within 30' of Korgazhar, but consider yourself just INSIDE the cell block right now.
Jun 20, 2019 10:54 am
Seeing the poor misguided optimism dancing across Bugbear #3's ugly mug, Ambrosia cheerfully pipes up:

"Oh bless his heart, he thinks he's winning!"
OOC:
Casting Vicious Mockery, WIS 17 Saving Throw, no damage on save, 2d4 and Disadvantage on next attack on fail
He then raises his jovial tone for all his party members to hear:

"Look alive my sensational saviors, we have more friends to entertain!"
OOC:
Bonus Action using Bardic Inspiration to grant 11 temporary HP to up to 5 creatures (myself and the 4 other PCs) I can see and that can see you within 60 ft (If need be i'll expend as much movement as necessary to be within eyesight of the 4 other players). Each creature can immediately use its reaction to move up to its speed, without provoking opportunity attacks. 4/5 BI uses remaining.

Ambrosia
The bugbear gets a look of pained confusion as he comes to realize that perhaps he is not gaining the upper hand with the arrival of reinforcements.

Rolls

Bugbear #3 Wisdom Save - (1d20+1)

(7) + 1 = 8

OOC:
With the bardic blessing from Ambrosia, everyone let me know where you want to move, if at all. Then i will post the Keeper's action.
Jun 21, 2019 3:00 am
OOC:
Thanks for the inspiration and reaction movement Lancelot, excellent play!
Korgazhar was invgorated by the energising words that the angel-touched Ambrosia spoke. With a focussed growl, he charged right at the Keeper. "Fernal keep the bugbears distracted. The rest fire at the giant!"
OOC:
Full 30' towards the Keeper
Jun 21, 2019 3:14 am
Do those reinforcement bug bears move before Fernal does or after her? Be kinda pointless to say a move if there certainly not going to be there where they currently are shown.
Jun 21, 2019 1:16 pm
OOC:
Using the reaction from the bardic inspiration, after I heal Julian, can I move back to the front line closer to Korgazhar? Not sure exactly how everything will resolve.
Jun 21, 2019 2:32 pm
OOC:
Fernal: The bugbears have all gone already. The reinforcements all used the DASH action to get to where they are on the map. Dwendylin, yes. You get this reaction movement in addition to the movement you will get on your turn. So you can move to Julian right now, then on your turn heal and move again.
Jun 21, 2019 4:01 pm
OOC:
Julian can also move with his reaction ;) ;)

Rolls

Bugbear #3 Deception Check - (1d20)

(5) = 5

Jun 21, 2019 7:26 pm
Fernal still holding back from going to rage or even berserkerhood is straining. While in combat she is panting. She eyes the bugbear before her like piece of steak and decides how to dice it up.

First attack with a 28 doing 24 HP of damage and Second attack with a 19 doing 9 points.

(dice roller hates me!)
OOC:
Checking to see if it dies before possible movement.
