Fernal would like to use her Uncanny dodge on the first attack.. what would the total damage be then?
You would suffer half damage in that case. 16 HP

The pleasure of watching the Keeper fall is sweet but short as the footfalls of the giants ring out.

Gaze focused on the Bugbears assaulting Korgazhar, Ambrosia whispers "Don't you hear the Keeper's call to join him?"

After that he'll call out to his companions "Our choreography may need some work but you're managing wonderfully, go team!" and each member (including Ligeia) feels a surge of energy and a spring in their step.
OOC:
Casting Dissonant Whispers at first level aimed at Bugbear 7 or 9, whichever seems more injured (if neither is hurt then it will be on 7. WIS Save 17 or take 3d6 psychic damage and must immediately use its reaction, if available, to move as far as its speed allows away from me. On a success takes half as much damage and is not forced to move. Bonus action to use Mantle of Inspiration, spending one Bardic Inspiration to grant my 5 allies 11 temporary HP ad they can immediately use their reaction to move up to its speed, without provoking opportunity attacks.

Dissonant Whispers - (3d6)

Ambrosia
Seeing the half-orc take a pummeling from the bugbears, you step out into view to cast your spell upon them. One of them, the one immediately to the left of Korgazhar suddenly stiffens and grabs his head. Whirling around to see what demon assaulted his mind, he turns to run south, away from the source.
OOC:
Bugbear #7 fails his save and turns tail to run south. Korgazhar gets an AOO on it, with advantage since the faerie fire still coats it.
OOC:
Ligeia is up. Dwendylin has already posted her action - Healing Korg. Julian after Ligeia.

Rolls

Bugbear #7 WIS Save - (1d20+1)

(13) + 1 = 14

Jul 12, 2019 7:35 am
OOC:
Ok, I'll take Korg's reaction here then for the AOO, and the rest of my turn later, in turn order.
Korgazhar nearly faltered under the Keeper's onslaught as the giant hewed his huge axe on the half-orc. Still, he gave as good as he got, renewing his violence against him relentlessly. And even as one of the bugbears attempted to back away from the confrontation, Korgazhar caught its back with a thrust of his long weapon.

Rolls

AOO Attack (with adv, GWM) and Damage - (1d20+6, 1d20+6, 1d10+17)

1d20+6 : (10) + 6 = 16

1d20+6 : (6) + 6 = 12

1d10+17 : (7) + 17 = 24

Korgazhar
You can feel a warmth flowing over you, even as your rage lashes out at the cowardly bugbear. Unfortunately, you are still a bit stunned from the onslaught by the bugbears, and though you strike the beast your attack does not pierce its thick armor.
OOC:
AOO misses. Korgazhar healed for 34 HP by Dwendylin. Ligeia and Julian can go.

OOC:
I think I may have posted Ligeia's action already on my turn, without thinking about the fact that she does have a separate initiative.

OOC:
I think that was last turn, as she missed and the Bugbear struck her for 23 HP at the top of this round

OOC:
Any chance I can get an updated map? I'm a little lost as to the current location of everything.
Jul 12, 2019 6:16 pm
OOC:
Sorry, thought I had posted this. Note that Aelfric is actually in the first cell, vacated by Ligeia. Also, while steps are heard, only Korg can actually see the giants. Bugbear #7 is turning to run south.

OOC:
As a note, Julian likely would have had to have moved up to the first cell, else he wouldn't have been able to toll the dead the keeper. If there's room, he'll pop out and then back in when he makes attacks.

Question: Are any of the bugbears still affected by Hypnotic Pattern?

Question: Using Ambrosia's reaction-based movement, could Julian run up and mount Ligeia before his turn?

Question: How high is the ceiling?

OOC:

1. Yes, #4 and #5 are indicated as under hypnosis still (this is round 4 since casting)
2. Yes, with your being closer to the front you can easily get mounted given the free 30' of movement
3. The ceiling is roughly 15-18' tall.

Julian dashes out from the cell block with uncanny speed, thanks to Ambrosia's bardic magics. As he moves to mount his steed, Lenore flies from the keeper's corpse to the bugbear attacking Ligeia. Flapping her wings in the bugbears face, she manages to distract it long enough for Ligeia to trample the beast as she moves to take to a shallow flight.
OOC:
Lenore: Help Action granting Ligeia advantage
Ligeia: Hooves Attack against Bugbear 8, then a shallow flight north avoid the bugbears, then west to give vision on the fire giants. (Using as much of the 90ft movement as is necessary), preferably moving again after hypnotic pattern is cast to be far away from the bugbears if possible.
Julian: Hypnotic Pattern on the fire giants when they come into view, dropping concentration on the bugbears.

Julian
Leaping upon Ligeia, you command Lenore to aid her while you ready another spell. The bird does its best to flap in the face of the bugbear, but it does not seem to help. The Pegasus rears up slightly and strikes with her hooves, but the lumbering beast is unfazed. As you rush past, the bugbear swings a mighty blow at your steed.

The blow lands solidly on her flank, bringing a screech of pain from her as the metal spikes rip flesh from her haunches. Leaping away, you release your spell upon the two giants. One of them succumbs, the other cones charging your way.
OOC:
15 HP piercing damage to Ligeia. Please indicate your movement path so I can place you on the map accordingly. Fernal is up! Sorry it took me this long to get back. Yesterday was pretty busy.

Bugbear AOO on Ligeia - (1d20+5)

With a high cry of I-chi, Fernal goes into rage as she can't stop herself. She isn't reckless or berserker yet. She is attacking the bugbear in front of her.
OOC:
Resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. Beside Uncanny Dodge.
She does 26 hp damage.

Fernal launches into a ferocious attack on the bugbear, who manages to deflect her first attack but succumbs to the second. The barbarian woman opens a jagged wound down its arm and the bugbear roars in pain but still stands.
OOC:
Korgazhar is up!
Jul 17, 2019 2:31 am
Korgazhar hadn't had the chance to warn the others about the giants earlier, swarmed as he was with the bugbears. But now that the Keeper was down, and one of the bugbears had fled, the half-orc opened up viciously on the other two, assisted by the faerie magic that lined them. He needed to quickly take them down before the fire giants could reach him.
OOC:
Attacking bugbear #8 first. If #8 goes down to 0 with his 2 attacks, Korg gets a bonus attack on #9 with GWM. If not, he'll use his PAM bonus attack on #8. Will roll both options.

Edit: The damage roll for the 1d4 is 2, and GWF lets me reroll 1s and 2s. Lazy, let's say it's 3? (In case that last point matters).
So, 47 damage to #8, if that's not enough to kill it, then another 20. If that's enough, then 22 damage to #9.

Either GWM Glaive or PAM bonus attack (with adv) - (1d20+6, 1d20+6)

1d20+6 : (16) + 6 = 22

1d20+6 : (18) + 6 = 24

Either Glaive or PAM damage - (1d10+17, 1d4+17, RA)

1d10+17 : (5) + 17 = 22

1d4+17 : (2) + 17 = 19

Korgazhar launches a ferocious attack on the bugbear before him, his glaive slicing so deeply as to nearly sever the left arm of the creature. The bugbear stumbles backward, nearly falling, the shock of the wound causing him to pale visibly. Before it can react, a second attack by the half-orc rips a gaping wound in its chest, and it falls dead.
OOC:
67 HP damage to Bugbear #9 (not 8) and it falls. Aelfric is up!
