OOC:
Dwendylin is going to cast Healing Word on Korgazhar with a 3rd level slot and the Sacred Flame cantrip on the Bug Bear Fernal is attacking (DC 15 DEX save. Pass = no damage.
Dwendylin comes to stand just outside the cell corridor and mutters again in celestial, speaking only one word. "Life." She follows it up with yet another celestial phrase which sounds much more admonishing. "Burn in sacred fire."

Rolls

Healing word (level 3) on Korgazhar - (3d4+3)

(444) + 3 = 15

Sacred Flame - (2d8+3)

(21) + 3 = 6

OOC:
I am going to assume you are targeting the fleeing bugbear #10, as that is the one Fernal targeted. #8 is still near her, though.
The fleeing bugbear staggers and weaves as he runs, obviously wounded. The flames called down by Dwendylin just miss, as she miscalculates his movements, scorching the nearby table and benches instead.
OOC:
Julian is up!

Rolls

Bugbear #10 DEX Save - (1d20+2)

(15) + 2 = 17

Jul 24, 2019 12:12 am
Julian procures a flask of oil from his pack. As he extends his hand towards the bugbear attacking his steed, the flask momentarily floats in place above his hand before catapulting itself towards him.
OOC:
Julian casts catapult on the oil flask, hurling it in a 90ft line south-west of him. Dex saves from bugbear 5, 4, and the fire giant in order. The first to fail their save is hit for 18 damage and covered in flammable oil.

Rolls

Bugbear #8 Deception Check - (1d20+0)

Raging Fernal goes wild on the bugbear. Screaming I-chi she savagely attacks the bugbear.
OOC:
She hits for 37 points and if it still alive she hits it for 15 more....:) If dead she may move on.
OOC:
Notice she does not have advantage on those swings but probably did hit with both first rolls
.

Fernal lets out her characteristic battle cry, cleaving through the recently-arrived bugbear. Her blade blasts through its shield arm, nearly severing it before whirling back around like a demon and burying the burning blade deep into its thigh. The bugbear staggers in pain, nearly collapsing under the onslaught, but it manages to hold its ground. Its arm, however, hangs nearly useless at its left side.
OOC:
52 HP damage to the bugbear, but it does not fall yet. However, it is reduced to only 1 attack at disadvantage due to the severity of its wounds. I am working to update the map, though not a lot has changed since #10 ran away from Fernal.

Korgazhar is up!
Jul 24, 2019 7:12 pm
Fernal keeps wailing on the bugbear but her chat is now continuous. Her mouth is foam ringed and drawl hanging from it.
OOC:
With a free action Fernal goes Frenzy and with a Bonus action she attack the bugbear again. He takes another 20 HP of damage. Still deciding on if Fernal will take a move action.

Your bonus attack does not start until the turn after you begin to Frenzy, so this will have to hold until your next turn.

^This, and from a technical standpoint you have to make the choice when you start the rage, not during the rage. DM would probably allow you to refresh your rage as a bonus action, as I think that's RAW.

OOC:
From my interpretation, it states that anytime while raging you can elect to Frenzy:While raging, you can choose to frenzy. You can make a single melee weapon attack as a bonus action on each of your turns after this one. When your rage ends, you suffer one level of exhaustion.
Jul 24, 2019 8:26 pm
OOC:
Well then bug bear doesn't get 20 HP more of damage and Fernal doesn't move for her turn.
Jul 24, 2019 8:31 pm
OOC:
On your next turn, you can use that attack as your first, then if it dies you can move and select a new target.
Jul 24, 2019 8:32 pm
OOC:
Thanx. See how this all goes.. :)

Ah. I always read "you can go into a frenzy when you rage" as meaning when you begin your rage you may frenzy. I like your interpretation better though.

Bump! Just re-posting that Korgazhar is up, so it does not get lost in all of this OOC talk.
Jul 25, 2019 7:05 am
OOC:
Oof, I did lose track amidst the ooc talk.
Korgazhar turned to note the arrival of the fire giant. He was still plagued by the bugbears, but was fortified by Dwendylin's healing magic from afar, otherwise he might be insufficiently boosted to tangle with the huge flamed haired monster before him. "Get these critters off me!" He summoned his inner reserves and focussed his energy on his next efforts as he looked up at the giant's demeanor. This one was going to be tough.
OOC:
Using Fighting Spirit as bonus action (+10 temp hp and advantage to this turn's attacks). Both attacks on fire giant.
Woohoo crit! Too bad I used my bonus action already, otherwise I can use it for another attack. Greedy heh.

Korgazhar manages to ignore the two bugbears around him, focusing on the larger threat of the fire giant now arriving. His glaive slams into the brute, slashing through the protective armor easily and carving a pair of glaive-sized swaths in the giant's chest. The giant roars in pain and agony as Korgazhar's blade drives deep into his flesh, and he stops his advance.

As bad as the wounds look to anyone else, the giant holds his ground and brings a massive greatsword to bear on the smaller half-orc. His already dark face looks nearly black with rage and pain as he makes ready to carve up Korg for dinner.
OOC:
With the crit, a total of 74 HP of damage to Fire Giant #2. Aelfric is up!
Jul 25, 2019 10:31 pm
"A fire giant?!" Ælfric thought in shock as he dashed into the doorway. He looked from the bugbears surrounding the half-orc to the fire giant, trying to determine whether to whittle away at the lesser threats or help Korgazhar assail the biggest threat currently in the room. He chose one of the bugbears and fired!

"Try to keep the little ones off him," he thought.

With his arrow sent flying, he retreated into the cell again.
