Your arrow flies straight and true, striking the chosen bugbear. To your dismay, however, the arrow does not pierce its thick armor and hide.
OOC:
Top of the round, Bugbears are up!

Korgazhar
Bugbear #4 grins widely at the arrival (and distraction of the fire giant. You are able to deflect one of its blows, but the morning star catches you solidly in the back, and a shock of pain runs up to your head. Likewise, the second creature next to you manages to hit you in the chest, nearly knocking the wind out of you as it dents in your breastplate.
OOC:
12 HP piercing damage to Korg from BB#4, 10 from BB#6. Sorry for the double roll, must have clicked twice quickly... I took the first result.

Ligeia
The bugbear confronting Ligeia and Julian swings two wide, powerful blows, and while the Pegasus swats the first away with his wing, the second blasts through and hits Ligeia in the chest with a sickening crunch.

Fernal
As the magic of Ambrosia sends yet another guard scrambling away in fear, the lone bugbear confronting you swings his heavy morning star at your head. You manage to duck out of the way, but on his back swing he catches you in the thigh, sending a stinging feeling up your leg.
OOC:
2 HP piercing damage to Fernal (this was halved due to rage)

Ambrosia is up!

Bugbear #8 Attack 1 on Fernal - (1d20+5)

Bugbear #8 Damage 2 on Fernal - (2d8)

(22) = 4

As Ambrosia looked about the act, something seemed....off. Korgzahar wasn't supposed to be swarmed like THAT! Rather than letting the sequence continue off script, the radiant performer decided to lend a helping hand to the confused Fire Giant.

"Remember, your death scene is coming up. Break a leg!" came a friendly whisper.
OOC:
Dissonant Whispers at 4th level to the Fire Giant, WIS 17 or movement+full damage

Dissonant Whispers - (6d6)

(562435) = 25

Ambrosia
You release the horrific visions upon the lumbering giant just as he begins to swing his massive blade at Korgazhar. He stops mid-swing and grabs his head, swatting at the invisible visions plaguing his mind. With a cry resembling something like fear, he turns and begins to move south.
OOC:
Giant fails his save! 25 psychic damage and Korgazhar gets an AOO. Ligiea, you are up!

Rolls

Fire Giant #2 DC 17 WIS save - (1d20+2)

(5) + 2 = 7

Quick question. This is the bugbear struck by the flask of oil. Did he take the 1d8 damage at the start of his turn, or does he take it on my turn? Also, is Julian seeing him essentially attack Ligeia despite being on fire and taking no effort to extinguish himself?

The bugbear is essentially shrugging off the burning oil, though he tried to extinguish it when first hit. Granted, it is reasonable to think he would try to pat out flames where he could, but would not forego trying to kill you. That said, yes, he took fire damage at the start of his round.
OOC:
i KNOW he took 8 damage, but looking back I don't see it anywhere. :/ I rolled again and posted it to the turn. I'm staying with his original 8, though.

OOC:
Gotta love AOOs! Edit: I take it back it was a bad roll.
Another effective spell from Ambrosia meant that Korgazhar could avoid the threat of the fire giant's upcoming attack. Instead, the half-orc got the chance to spear the giant from the back as it turned tail, confused by the mind magic.

Rolls

Glaive AOO (attack and damage) - (1d20+11, 1d10+7)

1d20+11 : (3) + 11 = 14

1d10+7 : (1) + 7 = 8

Jul 31, 2019 11:34 pm
Korgazhar
The giant turns to run, and you see the perfect opportunity to strike. You lash out with your glaive, but the sudden appearance of one of the bugbears distracts you just enough for your blow to glance off of its armor.
OOC:
AOO attack misses. Ligeia is up! Gwendylin can post after that.
Aug 1, 2019 4:21 am
Ligeia attempts to, yet again, bludgeon the bugbear engaging her. Lenore flies in the creature's face, attempting to distract the creature and grant Ligeia advantage.

Rolls

Hooves(Attack Roll, Advantage, Damage Roll) - (1d20+6, 1d20+6, 2d6+4)

1d20+6 : (17) + 6 = 23

1d20+6 : (14) + 6 = 20

2d6+4 : (23) + 4 = 9

OOC:
Can I have HP totals please. I assume Korgazhar is still the only one seriously hurt?
Aug 1, 2019 6:18 am
Korg is at 58/94, with one more use of a +10hp boost left. I figure after this massive battle, we'll need to find a place for a short rest and plan where we go next.
Only if we really can't find a safe zone then do we need to get Julian to teleport us all out.
Aug 1, 2019 6:16 pm
Ambrosia is at full HP 55/55 with 11 Temporary
Aug 1, 2019 6:23 pm
Ligeia
The hooves of the Pegasus strike true this time, thanks to the aid of the pesky Lenore. A hoof catches the bugbear in the snout, causing a gush of blood to erupt from the apparent breakage.
OOC:
Roll initiative for Lenore as well. technically you help your ally and they have to attack before your next turn. So, if Lenore goes AFTER Ligeia, you would have to wait until your next turn for the advantage to apply.... if that makes sense.
OOC:
Dwendylin is up! - Julian 33/52 plus 11 Temp, Fernal 63/65 (I think this needs to be updated), Korgazhar as he stated and no one else hurt.
Aug 1, 2019 6:35 pm
OOC:
63. 11 temp.
Aug 1, 2019 6:52 pm
OOC:
Lenore Init. Also, Ligiea is at 13hp, no temp. I plan on using healing word on myself, and her by extension (find steed lets me hit both of us) here soon, but I wouldn't say no to someone else doing it.

(13) + 2 = 15

Dwendylin, still somewhat concerned by Korgazhar's wounds, speaks another healing word directed at the half-orc warrior. She then speaks another divine word and calls down a sacred flame on the Bugbear (#8) closest to Fernal.
OOC:
- Healing Word at 3rd level on Korgazhar.
- Sacred Flame - DC 15 DEX save for Bugbear #8 or 10 radiant damage.

As the healing energy flows through you, mending the seen and unseen wounds of Korgazhar, you try to call forth the burning light of your god upon the bugbear guard engaged with Fernal. Unfortunately, the beast moves to the side at the very instant the blazing light strikes from above, scorching the floor where he was, but apparently missing your target altogether.
OOC:
Bugbear #8 saves. No damage. Julian is up!

Rolls

Bugbear #8 DEX save - (1d20+2)

(17) + 2 = 19
