OOC:
Fernal will use the rest of her movement and bonus action dash to be barrel down on #7. Ready next round to attack.

As you rush out and head north to where Julian and his mount fled, you pass by Dwendylin and watch as Korgazhar runs south, toward the hypnotized fire giant in the hallway. Likewise, Fernal is foaming at the mouth and barreling headlong south toward the lone bugbear.
OOC:
With a (very) brief respite in the action, I will allow everyone a free, non-melee or combat related action before the top of the turn.

Julian and Ligeia sped back into the room. "The possessions of our new allies can be found spread across two rooms south of here, past the fire giant. We should slay him while he is vulnerable, and proceed that way. From there we can decide if we will remain or not"
OOC:
90ft speed on Ligeia plus her previously readied dash action should be enough to reach the center of his allies, yes? I vote we readied-action simultaneously execute this fire giant and then move south.

OOC:
I didn't realize there was a bugbear left so I didn't attack last turn. Can I fire at it still?
Aug 17, 2019 3:58 am
"Good, we can re-arm our freed partners. They have proven very useful. And that giant will not escape me! See if you can direct us to where the orc slaves might be. So that we can establish a base."
OOC:
Responding to Ket's offer of a free action, Korg was going to drink a potion (because I thought we were given some freebies, but that's another game haha). I'll use Second Wind to regain some hp.

Rolls

Second Wind - (1d10+10)

(4) + 10 = 14

Seeing an opening, Ælfric fired an arrow at the last bugbear!

"South, then."

Ælfric moved diagonally south-west, trying to stay out of possible physical engagement range with the fire giant but still putting himself in line of sight with his next flaming target.
OOC:
Oooh! Crit! Might not be necessary but I'll still roll the extra dice. :)

I failed to realize there was a bugbear living. Could Julian have used Toll the Dead on him?
Aug 17, 2019 8:10 am
From the cells Ambrosia claps his hands together, proud of the wonderful work his rescuers have done. They could use some pointers on witty banter and flourishing their strikes, sure, but there's certainly talent in them, and by the divine the glowing bard will nurture it yet!

"Ah, and we're moments away from the big finale! Places everyone, places! Let's get this right on the first take. Time your final attacks at the end of cadenza; let my notes sway and move you all in unison. Trust me, you'll know when."

As the radiant performer starts waltzing towards the others and the Fire Giant, he begins humming a beautiful tune that rises into a singing of beautiful notes, before entering a full on aria, each Celestial word exuding the passion he has, the passion he's been lucky enough to witness here.
OOC:
Going off of Julian's idea, trying to get everyone synced up on the (hopefully) final strike against the Fire Giant (after the Bugbears are dealt with, obviously). Next turn is going to be readying Dissonant Whispers for the end of his operatic performance.

OOC:
@Julian - on your turn you Toll the Dead on #5 to no effect. It was subsequently killed and your turn has yet to come. Aelfric posted his turn without realizing #7 yet lived, so I allowed him to attack. Right now, you can perform any non-combat free action, move, etc.

OOC:
@Annex - crit dice are auto x2, no rolling required.

Seeing the bugbear, you pause briefly to fire your longbow, the arrow flying straight and true. It catches the bugbear by surprise, as the shaft blasts into the front of its right shoulder and out of the back, a chunk of gore accompanying it. The bugbear cries in pain, its morning star falling from its hand as the arm goes limp. Seeing it has no recourse, the bugbear dashes for the stairs!
OOC:
33 HP piercing to the bugbear #7. Fernal and Korgazhar get AOO on him as he runs for the stairs. Actions from everyone?
Aug 19, 2019 12:44 pm
OOC:
Doing the AOO first
Korgazhar took a swing at the remaining bugbear, lest it ran off to get more reinforcements.

Rolls

Glaive (attack & damage) AOO - (1d20+11, 1d10+7)

1d20+11 : (7) + 11 = 18

1d10+7 : (8) + 7 = 15

Aug 19, 2019 12:53 pm
Korgazhar
Seeing the bugbear flee, you sweep at him with your glaive. The blade slices through it easily, and with a startled cry, the bugbear falls dead to the floor.
OOC:
15 HP to the bugbear kills it! Actions all? The only creature left right now is the hypnotized Fire Giant
Aug 19, 2019 1:59 pm
OOC:
Korgazhar is charging and attacking the fire giant, from behind (and with advantage hopefully? ;) )
Aug 19, 2019 2:09 pm
Dwendylin raises a single hand this time and offers a small chant in the tongue of angels. "Heaven's brand reveals you." A focused beam of bluish light streaks from her hand towards the Fire Giant.
OOC:
Casting Guiding Bolt with a first level slot at the remaining Fire Giant. Meta-gaming a little, Korg if you want me to delay my action til after you hit it I can as well. Not sure what order will give more value. If the guiding bolt hits, you'll still get advantage on your first attack either way.

Rolls

Guiding Bolt at Fire Giant (Ranged Spell Attack), damage - (1d20+7, 4d6)

1d20+7 : (8) + 7 = 15

4d6 : (5242) = 13

Guiding Bolt at Fire Giant (Ranged Spell Attack advantage) - (1d20+7)

(10) + 7 = 17

OOC:
If we're still keeping intiative then Dwendylin is ahead of Korgazhar anyway
Aug 19, 2019 7:36 pm
Initiative
Ambrosia 17
Fire Giants 13
Ligeia 11
Dwendylin 10
Julian 09
Fernal 08
Korgazhar 07
Aelfric 06
OOC:
Yes, order of actions remain the same, I was just allowing you to state non-combat actions in lieu of a slight break in the action. Also, as a reminder, the Hypnotic Pattern spell ends when a hypnotized creature takes damage. Ambrosia is up!
Aug 19, 2019 8:54 pm
The beautiful song picks up in a great crescendo, the melody appears to be nearing its end.

With a lunge and a pirouette Ambrosia makes his way behind the captivated Giant.

As he flourishes, the performer belts out his final notes with such beautiful purity that angels might weep, managing to maintain them for such a duration that would put even the most exalted vocalists to shame.
OOC:
Ambrosia is going to go behind the Fire Giant and cast Dissonant Whispers at 3rd level. I had wanted to use Ambrosia's final crescendo and accompanying spell as the signal for his companions' readied attacks/spells to strike since I imagine we wouldn't want to wake the giant up from Hypnotic Pattern until we were all ready to strike. So I guess at this moment i'm hoping we are using this round to ready our attacks to go off at once, but if people are attacking before then, Ambrosia will ready the spell to go off when a someone attacks the giant. Wisdom 17 DC.
