You all manage to get to the main corridor, and down at the end you can see Korgazhar engaged with a small battalion of enemies. His glaive is darting and slashing with a life of its own, but you can see that he has been wounded already. With a roar, the first giant falls under his onslaught, albeit with some aid from Aelfric, but a second, even more impressive attack sliices the head of an ogre from its body before it can even get a finger on the warrior half-orc.

His follow-up attack pierces into the second giant, who lets out a roar just before his eyes glaze over and his body goes slack. Likewise, the ogre engaged with Fernal goes slack, falling under the beguiuling influence of Julian's spell. Not all creatures are affected, however, as another giant arrives from the north. As it roars a challenge to Korgazhar, a shimmering force surrounds the half-orc as the effects of Dwendylin's prayer take root.
OOC:
Giant 1 and Ogre 1 fall, all others fall under the Hypnotic pattern except Giant #3. As a side-note, please keep your PC sheets updated with spells, HP, AC, etc., on DnD Beyond. Most are... some are not, however. :D Ambrosia is up!

Ambrosia comes to a stop as the sudden beautiful display of colors evokes a smile from him. The smile quickly turns to a smirk when he hears one loud indication that not all their audience had become enthralled by Julian's magic. Channeling his magic through his halo, Ambrosia prepares for the next fool to come down the corridor.

Ambrosia
Moving a bit closer, you see that the only creature (at least in view) not under the influence of Julian is a Hill Giant. As it arrives, you release your whispers, which flow over and around the brute like a shadowy swarm of insects. For a moment, the giant is confused, but as it sees the party in the hall, it roars another challenge, stepping up to swat Fernal.
OOC:
Dissonant Whispers has no effect on Giant 3. Fernal is up!

Fernal was about to rip into the Ogre but now changes her mind to the Hill Giant roars that is coming at her. She much rather kill the giant anyway. She thinks That's it. Come to me. She eyes him over as he comes.
OOC:
Insightful Fighting (Bonus Action)
Fernal isn't in rage at the moment.

Fernal
As Ambrosia's spell assaults the giant, you manage to gain a quick insight into his defenses. With a ferocious assault, you dance, weave and carve your way through his thick hide and padded armor, scoring deep cuts into his vital spots. With a howl of pain, the giant shakes off Ambrosia's attempt at scaring him and his eyes narrow at the sight of you.
OOC:
Ouch! 54 HP damage to the giant. Lenore and Ligea are up!
Oct 1, 2019 3:11 am
Ligea readies herself to run or fly should an enemy threaten to close the gap between themselves and her. Lenore, however, flies into the fray. She flits about the giant's face, pecking at its eyes and hoping to distract it enough for her allies to gain an advantage in their struggle against the beast.

Julian
Sending lenore into the fray, your familiar darts ina nd around the giant's head, causing the lumbering brute no end of frustration. With a yell, the giant finally gathers his wits and swats at the black menace. With his club, he then strikes down at Korgazhar.

With a pitiful squawk, the giant smashes Lenore into the wall, and in a puff of smoke the familiar disappears. Meanwhile, Korgazhar absorbs a hefty blow to the chest, his breastplate partially collapsing from the sheer force of the giant brute.
OOC:
12 HP damage to Lenore. 15 bludgeoning to Korg. The +5 modifiers did not record. Aelfric is up!
OOC:
Note: On Korg's turn, he has advantage on the attack. And his AC is +2 due to Dwendylin.

Would the help action Lenore took before dying give Aelfric advantage on his attack?
OOC:
Yes, I had thought that Korgazhar would get the advantage, but whoever attacks first can take it. If that is the case, then Korg would not have advantage on his first attack, as I had previously said.
Oct 3, 2019 2:12 am
"Rather an entity that can be recalled going up in smoke than one of us," Ælfric thought as he fired an arrow at the enraged giant before ducking behind cover again.
OOC:
Thank the Gods for advantage!

Aelfric
Your aim is true as the thick arrow flights straight into the giant's eye! A sickening thwump can be heard as the eye pops and the arrow buries itself into the giant's skull, not reaching the brain, but doing enough damage to bring the giant to one knee.
OOC:
26 Piercing to Hill Giant #3. Julian is up!
Oct 3, 2019 8:14 pm
Julian extends his hand towards the creature that had so unceremoniously swatted his familiar out of existence. True, the spirit-being was not dead in the traditional sense, and he had the components necessary to revive her; but that didn't change the fact that withering the foul creatures body away as it still lived would be an enjoyable revenge.
OOC:
Toll the Dead. Wis Save DC 17 or 12 necrotic damage.

Julian
The gonging bell echos all around the faltering giant, and he drops his club to grab at his skull. With a wail, like the death knell of some demonic force, the giant falls over, his heart giving out at the sights and sounds running through his mind. Blood runs from his nose, and bloody, foaming spittle from his mouth as the life leave his corpse.
OOC:
Sorry for my slacking again. I've been working OT at the office to try and get this project done and out on time. Giant 3 has fallen, the remainder are enthralled by Julian's Hynotic spell.
As the giant falls and you get a minute to breathe, you hear yet more giants and others coming into the Keeper's area to the north!

Bump! We are out of combat right now. All nearby foes are incapacitated and under the influence of Julian's Hypnotic Pattern spell. More reinforcements are coming from the North. Actions?

Fernal looks to Korgazhar, Worthy? Fernal appears to have taken a fair amount of harm herself. (Down to 36 HP from 65 HP.) Although she says nothing, it is apparent that she is worn right now. (Level 1 Exhaustion)
Oct 11, 2019 2:43 am
Korgazhar nodded at the skilled barbarian who had raged her way through a swath of enemies, and looked to the others as well.

"Find a defensible spot in the caverns we've scanned to regroup?" The half-orc indicated the barricade. "Or teleport and regroup? Knowing if we do so they'll be prepared for us next time."
