Fernal says in her own fashion, Knew us already. Caverns dead, Fight or leave. It appears she is willing to fight on if that is decided. She doesn't appears to willing to decide the future right now.

"Yes, they were already ready for us. Our resources won't last forever, and their truly heavy artillery will eventually show themselves. As long as our wizard can teleport us to safety, we can stay to wreak as much havoc as possible... beginning with executing these enraptured brutes."
Ælfric pulled his rapier from its scabbard, and surrounded it with rippling air.
"I say we start with the last giant. Fernal, Korgazhar... Shall we?"

"Know that tricks such as this come at a cost" Julian gestured to the ogres and giants he'd hypnotized "and I am running low on what I can safely afford to pay. We need not leave just this moment, but the next large engagement will need to be our last."

I still have a few useful tricks left, but I need to really start being more conservative from here on. No more Hypnotic patterns unless we NEED it.

The Hypnotic Patterns were great though!"I'm all for pressing on, whether to release the prisoners or find the rebels, but I accept the tactical necessity of regrouping. Julian, is there a location on this level you can know well enough to teleport safely back?

Fernal doesn't have problem with butchering the mesmerized. She more awaits to hear what everyone has decided. Any here knows she is no leader and not too keen on thinking ahead.

"A tactical retreat is a sound plan. I am not fully spent, but it would be advantageous to regroup. I stand with your endeavors whatever you choose."

Julian didn't answer the question. He didn't wish to speak of further plans here, knowing that the sorceress might be listening in. "We'll speak of our future plans later." He hoped Korgazhar remembered when he sent Ælfric into the leader's chamber to retrieve an object that he might use to teleport more accurately. They'd taken the keeper's keys, the prisoner's clothes and equipment from this place. All of these would serve as adequate catalyst for his teleportation spell.

With quick and deadly strokes, you finish off the mesmerized foes, the giant being the last to fall in a pool of its own blood. To the north, you see a half-dozen ogres, as many smaller (young) giants and three full-grown warriors have arrived in the Keeper's area.
With a yell from one of them, they all begin to head in your direction.

Foes slain for brevity sake, so we can move out of combat for the moment. I will need a stealth check from each of you as well as where you are headed. The tunnel east is barred by rocks and fallen timbers, but there is enough space for human-sized creatures to get through the area. The Pegasus, however, is a bit too large to do so.Oct 12, 2019 10:38 pm
"I cannot cloak you any longer," Ælfric quietly apologized before he did his best to be unseen and unheard.

Rushing to the east, you come to the collapsed tunnel and begin moving through. As you all scramble in and over the large rocks and fallen timbers, you hear shouts of surprise on the other side. You find a pair of orcs, clad in mismatched armor and old looking weaponry (sword and spear) about 10 feet into the corridor on the other side.
"You stop! No come no further!" one of them calls out in very-bad common, his spear lowered in your direction.

Fernal elect not to say anything as she really doesn't care for orc. Not a bad as she hates giants. She figures anything she would do right now would not aid and getting further. She doesn't even have a more combative stance. She doesn't really fear the orcs at all.

Dwendylin
The orcs look at each other, then back at you, spitting on the ground. "That my think on giant!" the spitter says.
He looks at his partner and clucks something in a guttural tongue. The second orc eyes the group, nods and moves off quickly down the tunnel, which looks more roughly hewn and narrow the further east it goes..

Dwendylin had hoped she'd have a chance to express her mutual disdain for the giants. Perhaps the orcs might have been willing to form at least a temporary alliance against a common enemy. She felt sure they would end up fighting side by side sooner or later. Dwen begins to move down the tunnel after the orcs, but first pauses to see if the others were willing to pursue.
