Character Creation/Leveling

I'd like to go with the connection that Mönkhbat and Rose aren't rivals. They may not be friends per se, and while their tribes may have had differences of opinions, that doesn't mean the two of them can't get along. Mönkhbat feels that it is up to each individual to forge their bonds, especially since he (and neither Rose, evidently) no longer has a tribe.

I only mention a difference of communities because I envisioned that the children of Mönkhbat's tribe do not have mothers and fathers in a familial sense. There are mated pairs, but children are born in the spring in the midwife's hut and are then raised by the entire tribe. In my make-believe tribe based on feral animals, the children have no concept of their own father or mother; instead they understand who is an elder and who is not.

I didn't want to force Rose to change her backstory and her history with her parents, so I figured it's best to be from separate tribes. I think it's still reasonable for the two tribes to meet from time to time, much like two familial clans gathering for trade, gossip, or contests. Mönkhbat and Rose could have met often enough while young to be familiar with each other.

I want to just put out there that women are about more than just being pretty.... And that men don't always fall for the girl, even if she's really pretty (right, Nàdair?:-p)
If CancerMan has other plans for Mönkhbat I would definitely prefer to take that route and have them connect over the loss of a tribe rather than a hormonal teenager story. Because personally I feel that could be a lot more interesting.

Also I really hope Rose won't always try to work just with her looks, because spoiler alert that's not going to work in this game.

As a personal note, I would much prefer if we tone down (preferably to none) the idea of the sexual slavery and currency of a minor. It's not a topic I'm willing to entertain as a DM, or as a person. Being "one of the boys" and a scrapper that people liked to hang around with is fine, but the raw premise of a father actively looking to get his daughter spread around is not something I can allow.

Now, if it's just in terms of finding an arranged marriage without the tones of childhood sexualization, I am OK with that, but it is not the tone that is coming across to me as I read it. Perhaps I'm coming from WAY out of left field with this one and reading things horribly horribly wrong.

I can truthfully state that I have no plans for Mönkhbat to enter into any relationship right off the bat. I personally see his connection with Rose as having something in common from their respective pasts, like seeing the neighborhood kids at highland games, but we don't go to the same school.

I think he meant spreading word that he had the best daughter ( as in all tribes should ally with him for her hand) instead of spreading in a sexual sense. That is also more associated with male dominance I suppose;) perhaps a missed word somewhere was the problem!

I'm really sorry you feel that way. Do you think that we could work together to maybe change Rose so you would feel comfortable playing her? Or would you maybe rather make a different character that's easier to play for you?
If your decision to want to step out has anything to do with the things I said I'm also sorry for that. It's just that as a woman I've experienced men portraying women just as a sex symbol and with the things you described it really hinted in that direction for me, unfortunately, which I now know was just a misunderstanding. If I look at the other sides of Rose I really do think she could have a good place in this story and I do really hope we can work something out here!
