Iko and Feng loop around the other side to end up behind the giant serpent. It's got Rong Hua grasped in its coils, and ts jaws clamped down on Wei. Dae-Won lets out a gasp. With his sword-arm injured, the elf's got his chilseonggeom in the wrong hand. Across the way, positioned near Meng, Sungyeol has his bowstring drawn to his cheek, but there is fear in the elf's eyes.

Anyone may act at this time.

Wu Meng did not know who the bowman was, but expressed a word of encouragement all the same."Be strong, keep focus, aim true."

He himself continued to close the distance towards the serpent, and with one of the two remaining chopsticks in his hand, aimed for one of its eyes.

Rolls

Volley - (2d6+2)

(43) + 2 = 9

OOC:
Roll your damage, Wu Meng.
Aug 16, 2019 6:50 am
OOC:
I paused before rolling damage because I'll use 1 Ki to add 1d8 damage to the successful hit. That's my last Ki point for the day.

Rolls

Damage - (2d8)

(32) = 5

Aug 16, 2019 7:10 am
OOC:
Oops, and I forgot to ask you to choose which complication:
• You have to move to get the shot, placing you in danger as described by the GM
• You have to take what you can get: -1d6 damage
• You have to take several shots, reducing your ammo by one
Aug 16, 2019 9:38 am
Despite the pain of his wounds, Wei fights on...determined to save Rong Hua.

Rolls

Attack - (2d6+2)

(45) + 2 = 11

Damage (if attack is successful) - (1d10+1)

(2) + 1 = 3

Aug 16, 2019 10:16 am
OOC:
Wei, just checking: you're not trying to break free of its jaws? It's got you by the shoulder, so you can attack, and with that roll you will deal your damage. "At your option, you may choose to do +1d6 damage but expose yourself to the enemy’s attack" Is standard, but I'm going to say you can choose instead to break free (no roll needed). This will also expose you to counterattack.

OOC:
Oops I also forgot to say I'll reduce my ammo by one. One chopstick left!
Aug 16, 2019 11:06 am
OOC:
eh, it's a weak damage roll. I'll go with breaking free and putting a little distance between Wei and the serpent.
Aug 16, 2019 2:30 pm
OOC:
Actions, Feng and Iko?
Aug 16, 2019 2:48 pm
Iko looks at his tiny knife and then at the giant serpent. With a shrug, he puts the knife in his sash and makes a mental note to be more prepared for giant monsters in the future before deftly running into the snakes coils to see if he can free Rong Hua from its crushing grip.

Rolls

Defy Danger +Dex - (2d6)

(45) = 9

Aug 16, 2019 3:21 pm
OOC:
Go ahead and describe how you attempt to free Rong Hua, and include whatever roll you feel is appropriate. (Probably Roll+STR, but you might surprise us!)
Aug 16, 2019 3:27 pm
OOC:
Roll+STR is probably not the way to go for me, but I don't know how else I'd do it.
Finding Rong Hua among the coils, Iko grabs her and attempts to pull her from the serpent's grip.

Rolls

Roll+STR - (2d6-1)

(33) - 1 = 5

Feng adds her own missiles to the fray, throwing the burning blades the the snake.
OOC:
I still have the knives bedzone ;)

I'll also reduce my "ammo" by one if that is applicable.

+1 Damage
Fiery
Thrown, near
Dangerous

1/3 uses?

Rolls

Hack & Slash - (2d6+2)

(15) + 2 = 8

Damage - (1d8+1)

(3) + 1 = 4

Aug 16, 2019 4:28 pm
OOC:
Throwing is Volley instead of Hack & Slash, but Feng uses her CHA for both moves anyway, so it's just terminology.

OOC:
Gotta go to sleep, guys. Will update tomorrow.
Aug 17, 2019 1:16 pm
OOC:
Feng, even on a roll of 10+, your Burning Brand consumes one of your three uses each time you attack. So we'll have to impose some other complication for that 8.
Battle Music!

Wu Meng's flung chopstick strikes true, burying itself in the snake's left eye! Enraged, the monster rears up, and nearly lifts Wei off his feet, but the fighter thrusts his ancestral blade into the snake's mouth, forcing it to release him! Fearing for Rong Hua, Iko dashes towards the danger and makes a desperate attempt to pry her loose of the serpent's powerful grip. But the priest lunges forward at the exact moment Feng hurls her fiery daggers, and one of them hits Iko instead of Atekhramun!
OOC:
Mark 1 XP, Iko. You and the snake take the same amount of damage (see Feng's damage roll). Your armor helps here.

Your turn again, everyone!
Aug 17, 2019 1:51 pm
Wei drops to the ground and rolls to his feet. With a leap he is into the fight attacking the giant serpent.

Rolls

Hack & Slash - (2d6+2)

(65) + 2 = 13

Damage (if attack is successful) - (1d10+1)

(6) + 1 = 7

Aug 17, 2019 3:40 pm
Now near enough for his kungfu to make a difference, Wu Meng reared up like a mantis, and launched himself in the air, and sailed towards the head of the serpent in an attempt to deliver his strikes at its vital points. Perhaps he could put the other eye out as well!
OOC:
I haven't forgotten the knives @somebox! :D :D

Edit, it's a 10+ yay, so I don't mind the option of an extra +1d6, or, as described earlier, perhaps some other form of damage, like blinding him, in exchange for exposing Meng to a counterattack?
