Each of you settles into an easy rhythm back at the Dawn Temple.
Mal is introduced to the Curator and the Warden. These are Jedi personalities that have been encoded into holocrons to oversee their use and operate them. They explain to Mal that they help the Dawn Temple function, looking after various parts of the temple. They are 2 of 3 holocrons that enable the Temple to operate at its full potential and have worked with Mal's newfound colleagues to try and restore the Temple's holocrons. The two holocrons are frustratingly incomplete. They've been quite specialized and unfortunately it's easy to find holes in their knowledge about the Force, the Temple or its past.
Mal is also introduced to Hethan. She isn't a Force user, but is a scholar, and is in her element doing some form of acheology and anthropology at the site of the Dawn Temple. From time to time she bubbles about hints or clues to thus and sundry -- and the weeks you've been gone she has found all sorts of interesting tidbits -- to her at least. She has finally figured out how to interact with the gatekeepers (and they with her) so she's fully aware of them and couldn't be happier than to have a couple Jedi personalities to constantly quiz about the littlest thing.
Lastly, Mal is able to scour the Temple with the help of Kaveri to find pieces for a lightsaber and under the tutelage of Csillag and Heyop, he is able to master the creation of his lightsaber.
OOC:
Mal -- you should consider yourself having a basic lightsaber. You get to pick the crystal color and whatnot as long as it's not too exotic. If you like,
this site can help you visualize your saber.
Urik retreats into his room and frequents the meditation terrace, communing often with the Warden. He expresses a desire to more closely study the Force with the Warden and spend some time in quiet contemplation. This isn't an egregious departure for the young man -- who clearly has some deep personal issues to confront, and the Dawn Temple feels like the perfect place to do so. Kaveri expresses a desire to take over some of the day-to-day maintenance and oversight of the temple, working closely with the Warden and the Curator. She hands Mal the proverbial keys to the Kirtan Strider after working closely with Mal for awhile to help him build his saber.
OOC:
This puts Urik and Kaveri on ice. Players are welcome back if they come back, and we'll roll with the extended/expanded crew.
You each use the time in the temple to study the Force (and thus provides some of the narrative required for you to use your XP to buy lightsaber skills, etc.). It doesn't take long before your studies within the temple are interrupted by the voice of your old mentor, Hethan Romund, on the intercom.
"Good news, my friends. The gatekeepers and I believe we have determined the location of the last holocron. Come join us in the Great Hall, and we’ll share our theory."
Once you assemble before Romund, the gatekeepers manifest beside her, beaming proudly. The Curator speaks first:
"Our senses are greatly weakened beyond this valley, and much of what the planet once was has changed with time. However, your master Romund has been informing us of the new state of Spintir, and with her information, we now understand what we have sensed. The thieves who stole the other holocron were part of a syndicate Romund informs us operates from the city of Reles. Tens of thousands live in the city, hiding the presence of the gatekeeper amidst the chaos of their lives and emotions. But it remains and can be restored if it is found."
The Warden assesses each of you with a level stare.
"You must travel to the capital and find the last holocron in order for the temple to return to its proper state. The temple cannot be allowed to lie fallow any longer."
