2.0 - Lure of the Lost

Dagger pops out from behind the exhibit and fires a stun blast at whoever is piloting this thing, still a little jealous that he didn't think to drive a speeder through the front. He then cowers back behind the exhibit for cover.
OOC:
Aiming and taking fire with a stun blast at the pilot of the speeder. Then moving behind the exhibit to add cover.

Aim and Fire Blaster (Ranged Light)

6 Success, 3 Advantage, 1 Failure, 2 Threat

Total: 5 Success, 1 Advantage

OOC:
Remaining advantage, I want to pass a boost on to the next person on our side. I think that is 11 stun damage? 6 base on the weapon, plus 5 successes?
Oct 7, 2016 6:58 pm
OOC:
Ouch! Nice hit! Adding a couple setback. Moving fast and in cover thanks to the speeder... End result is 4 success 0 advantage. 10 base damage!
Dagger leans around the gundark and pops off a couple shots with his Sorosub pistol. The vantage-point seems to help as he manages to hit the pilot of the speeder a few times. However it looks like while it might actually have really ticked the pilot off, he's still conscious...

Rolls

In cover, driving erratically.

Shortly after Dagger's shot -- the crazy green guy manages to take that speeder and skim past the gundark. It veritably roars past Dagger as it hits the stairs with a jolt. Sparks fly from its chassis as the pilot struggles to keep it going along the wall, rather than through or into it. Miraculously, it appears he manages to keep it in control to hit the top of the stairs (from position 17) and there's another loud shattering of glass as the display case at the top of the stairs disintegrates under the speeder's advance. Dagger is able to spot a couch being catapulted over the railing and down into the main area shortly afterwards...

The speeder has disappeared up above.
OOC:
While resolving their actions, Csillag, I think you can have a turn. What's your plan?
Oct 11, 2016 9:43 pm
"Where are they going?" Csillag asks rhetorically. Drawing her blaster she motions to Mal that she's going to move forward and try to see what the situation is. She walks up to the doorway to her right (8) and while pressed against the wall, leans her head forward to take a peek inside.

OOC:
Can totally have you do this -- but I have you at door #7 now -- do you wanna go back and check on 8? They went up the stairs at 10.
Oct 11, 2016 10:48 pm
OOC:
Didn't realize that was where she was at. Have her sneak ahead and peek up the stairs then.
Oct 12, 2016 3:49 pm
Csillag sneaks up to the corner of the staircase (at position 17) and looks up. It's not hard to see what's afoot there. The speeder apparently used the wall as a way to guide it up the stairs -- as can be seen by the large scratch/streak along the wall. She's just able to pick out the remains of what was probably a display case -- and who knows what artifacts. She's also able to pick out the top of the speeder, apparently parked upstairs for some purpose.
OOC:
I'm calling this a 1P check, so suggesting your three advantage return your strain, so you're +3 strain and thus up to 5 remaining strain (the way I count).

Edited -- got my map numbers wrong! Stairs are at 17 not 10.
Oct 12, 2016 6:40 pm
OOC:
Mal -- you're up!
Oct 12, 2016 10:34 pm
they drive upstairs, that might be where the holocron is... I'm going in!

Mal starts running towards the staircase. Since the element of surprise is gone and time may be of the essence, Mal ignites his lightsaber and Force Leaps up the stairs, landing on the back of the speeder.
OOC:
does any of that require a roll?

OOC:
Do you have Force Leap: Vertical or just Horizontal?
Oct 13, 2016 12:59 am
OOC:
Actually -- nevermind. I think if you want to swap weapons that's an "action" and from a movement point of view, you can get towards the top of the stairs easily, but you can't quite get all the way to a point where you can force leap to the vehicle. Do you still wanna keep that action?
Oct 13, 2016 3:13 am
OOC:
Note as a slight warning -- moving from stun to lightsabers is a bit of an escalation of things; so be careful that you aren't escalating the violence or you will likely gain Conflict and move towards the dark side.
Oct 13, 2016 5:30 am
OOC:
horizontal leap. and is it still an action if I drop my carbine and grab my saber? I'm not going to hit anyone with it, I figure it would be more intimidating than anything else. lightsabers can be used to disarm as well...

OOC:
Or in Luke's case, dishand... *rimshot*

OOC:
Ok. I reviewed RAW in the book, and I think stowing and drawing a weapon is likely two manuevers (doing otherwise is probably undervaluing the Quick Draw talent that Heyop has). So dropping the gun and drawing the lightsaber is a manuver. You'd need to use another manuever (2 strain) to get close enough to the top of the stairs to see and Force Leap (an action) on top of the speeder.

So -- yes. Doable. But: you have to take 2 strain, and you have to roll your Force dice to see if you get any white pips to draw on (or choose to use a dark pip with Conflict and by using a destiny point).
Oct 13, 2016 5:48 pm
OOC:
eh, crap. going tot ake 2 strain and flip a force point so I can get on top of the speeder and look threatening enough to scare them away

1 Black Force Point

Oct 13, 2016 6:04 pm
Mal drops his carbine at the door (at position 7) and draws his lightsaber. It ignites at the touch of his hand and throws reflections off the walls as he runs around the corner, past Dagger and Csillag, and up the stairs. Reaching for the Force, he finds it easy to grasp onto something urgent and violent -- and he channels that into a jump that lands him atop the back of the speeder with his saber alight!
OOC:
Mal, you take 1 Conflict point (we will resolve at the end of the month); also you take 2 strain.
Sitting in the speeder is a twi'lek female and near where Mal is standing, a green-liveried Noghri crouches behind the speeder -- using it for cover from the stairs -- with a blaster carbine at the ready. They are both rather surprised to see Mal...
Oct 14, 2016 12:10 am
The twi'lek turns around in her seat with a shriek and yells "STANG! STANG STANG!" as she fires her blaster pistol on stun somewhat nervously at Mal. A shot or two land, but they do minimal impact to the lightsaber-wielding Mal.
OOC:
Mal, you take 7 strain - 4 soak = 3 strain. Are you now at 5? I'd have you at 7 by my calculations but...
