Shaking his head Heyop came out of it, "Well that's different..." if Urik is still focused on the crystals Heyop would draw his attention away by shaking his shoulder, "We can come back and look at these after we're done, dividing your attention can get you distracted enough to get hurt... or worse." stated making sure Urik wasn't still focusing on just the crystals. Looking to Dagger Heyop nodded towards Urik and pointed towards his own eyes, "Keep an eye on him we don't really know what we're getting into... just in case.

Urik was staring at the crystals when Heyop shook him.

"Wait, there is something strange here. This place resonates with the force. It has been tainted somehow, and I keep seeing vision in these crystals. Perhaps we can find guidance?"
He turns to Dagger, "Watch my back."

Urik will find the largest crystal cluster in the nearby area. He is going to sit down and meditate on the crystals, staring into their depths and reaching out with the force.

OOC: Let me know if you'd like a roll of some kind; Perception, Discipline, Force Die, etc.

Urik spends time meditating while the rest of you mill about. Despite his efforts, however, he isn't able to get any new, or informative imagery or guidance. He does continue to feel a gentle tug deeper in the caves, commiserate with where Kaveri was pointing. After about five more minutes of wandering purposefully through the caves, you emerge from the maze of tunnels into a vast cavern, and the dim illumination of the crystals flares to a sudden brilliance that all but blinds you as you enter. When your eyes adjust, you see an elaborately marked, metallic cube lying amid a pile of bones and half-eaten animal carcasses.

As your attention falls upon the cube, you realize it must be the holocron from the temple, as a translucent figure projects from it. It is another holographic gatekeeper, like the Curator, but considerably more severe in appearance. This one appears as a stern-looking Zabrak female made of golden light, dressed in austere robes that reveal armor plating beneath the folds of fabric. A lightsaber hangs from her belt., but the harsh gaze she casts on you is somehow more intimidating. Her expression softens slightly after a moment, and she speaks.

"I am the Warden of the Dawn Temple, and I greet you, seekers of knowledge. Your arrival is untimely, but not unwelcome. You have brought light into these caves, so let us hope you can endure the shadow it casts."

The figure vanishes without further comment, and it looks like the holocron is safe to retrieve.

Reminds me of an old sergeant I had... Heyop thought to himself before stashing the glow rod.

Looking to the others, "Well that sounds only slightly welcoming and possibly a warning. Thoughts? I figure something's bound to happen once someone picks up the holocron in the near future at least I thought that's what the visions were trying to imply. Any one else want to volunteer to getting attacked by picking up the holocron... besides me? If not be ready for something to happen once I pick it up." Heyop stated seeing what the others thought, if no one else wanted to stick their hand out to get bite he didn't mind doing it but he wanted to make sure the others were ready if he did so.

OoC: I'd like to try a Survival roll or Xenology to figure out the size of whatever was eating animals here before we start. Let me know the difficulty and which you think would apply.

Heyop takes a look around at the carcasses and condition of the bones for teeth and claw marks...

Edit: taking threat as a point of stress from the smell of mass corpse rotting... Some got in my mouth... Xp hope

Heyop is fairly certain that this cave houses icewolves -- and several of the markings are consistent with icewolves. Many of the markings however, while similar in nature are outsized, suggesting that there's a very large icewolf in the near vicinity. Perhaps it's the wounded mother?

As Heyop works up his nerve to grab the box, Kaveri looks around for a good vantage point to set up with her rifle to provide covering fire.

With his hands free Heyop and the team ready it seemed he would move forward in a burst of speed to snatch up the holocron ready to react after he tucked it away.

(OoC: Let me know if you need a roll... Someone orange told me, 'It's a trap!')

Oh, it's definitely a trap, but no roll is required...

As soon as Heyop picks up the holocron, the Warden's mysterious words become clear, as a pack of icewolves emerges from a side passage. They are led by a huge, savage-looking matriarch with livid scars along her flank. The feelings of corruption you have endured ever since entering the caves seems to be emanating from the beast, as if she is their source.

The matriarch is accompanied by two groups of icewolves -- one of two, and one of three.

All players should roll initiative. I'll roll and act for Dagger until his return. Because you are a suspicious lot, you may choose the better of Cool or Vigilance as you see fit.
