"Perhaps a run through the poison would have been safer?" Csillag ponders as she slowly works her way along the ledge, spending a little extra time whenever she finds some solid footing to try and calm her nerves before continuing on.

Heyop moves through the narrow area...carefully.

Heyop has Conditioned Rank 1 that comes into play, voiding one setback dice.

Csillag slips during her journey around the edge. Kaveri and Heyop are both in a position where they can lend some support, at the potential risk of falling into the middle, with Csillag, if they fail.
OOC:
Heyop or Kaveri -- care to lend a hand? If so, it's a hard coordination check (3 p) with 2 setback for Heyop (due to his threat) and 1 SB for Kaveri. If you attempt to rescue her and fail -- there's a chance you both fall into the middle and will be forced to roll Resiliance with some setback dice.

Instinctively Heyop moves to try and help Csillag when wobbles a bit on the edge.
OOC:
Conditioned Rank 1 Still in play due to setback die penalty

Heyop catches Csillag -- but yanks his shoulder something fierce in the effort. The three of you manage to get across, but Heyop is smarting from the effort to keep Csillag out of the pit of foul gas that has Dagger coughing profusely. Now on the other side -- you look around you and have the option to proceed if you see fit. Dagger's coughs are slowly starting to calm down so .. in a few minutes he shouldn't give away your position to any probe droids or local inhabitants....
OOC:
Rather than dropping you prone into the bad air -- let's call the impact 4 strain to Heyop (roughly equivalent to failing a resilience roll). That shoulder SMARTS.
Mar 29, 2016 1:21 pm
"Thanks for the help, Heyop" Csillag says timidly, embarrassed from putting her companion in such a situation. "Let me take a look at that shoulder."
OOC:
If she can, she'll examine Heyop's shoulder. When she heals wounds her physician skill allows her to reduce strain by one level as well.

As Heyop and Csillig step down off the ledge, Urik looks over his shoulder and says, deadpan, "Oh, hey Heyop. Glad you could join us. Do you have a drink for Dagger? He seems parched."

You're not sure, but there may have been the tiniest twitch of Urik's lips...like a ghost of a smile.

Heyop audibly exhales as the finish traversing the side area. Csillag offers to look at his shoulder and he nods before he hears Urik ribbing him. "Someday... people will refer to you as 'old man' too." Heyop states his jaw set and clenched.

Stay calm... if you yell that it hurts Csillag will feel bad... he thinks to himself and waits for her to work some magic.

Am I taking Space Motrin?
OOC:
Motrin? What kind of physician do you think Csillag is? She's got the good stuff!

OOC:
Strain is an odd beast -- I'm not sure there's a way to heal strain short term other than through advantage. You could choose to take a rest if you want -- but I'll add that to my Hopper of Evil GM Doom if you do. If you want me to poke around for more I can do that tonight once I'm at my hotel with the EOTE CRB

OOC:
Ok. Following up. I don't see a way to recover strain medically. However there are Jedi powers that might assist here (e.g. heal) but I don't have FaD with me, so I can't speculate on that 'til Thursday.

What'chall gunna do?

Dagger looks at Heyop's face as he moves his shoulder and sees he is clearly in pain from it. He walks over and slaps him on the back, Walk it off, soldier. We have plenty more uninteresting cave to examine. He gives him a stupid smile, then draws his blaster again and then continues on down the cave.

"Well if you get a bit to choke down the fumes I can at least get one to catch my breath." Heyop states with a smirk. Nodding off Csillag he'd roll his shoulder and stretch a bit before getting back into patrol formation.

OOC:
227 Is the Reference page I have for Recovering Strain. Force and Destiny Corebook.

---

Fortunately, recovering from strain is fairly easy. Taking a moment to catch one's breath, eating a good meal, or spending time relaxing with friends are all ways a Player Character might recover from strain.

At the end of an encounter, each player can make a Simple (-) Discipline or Cool check. Each :((success)) recovers 1 strain. Furthermore, a good night's rest generally removes all strain a character has suffered. lt's also rumored that some Jedi have mastered a technique that allows them to ignore the effects of strain, or to ease the minds of others to help them recover
more quickly.

---

I think we get a free after encounter strain check. I assume any other time we can make a similar check, but it takes us a bit of time, and I'm sure a vigilant GM will simply make that time cost us something else.

That's what I figured. Think Remnant has the Beta copy with reduced content (and thus different page #s).

Note that if you take a pause - y'all can do so if you want. I'll count the time against you in my Evil Doings.

Dagger waits for Heyop to recover a bit then as politely as possible says, Alright, are you about done playing around, we should keep moving, before a probe droid spots us.
Apr 6, 2016 12:22 pm
"Sure... didn't know the droids made you nervous..." Heyop replied ready to move forward.
OOC:
Don't know if we were waiting on me... not it!

As you gather the party and sally forth -- you continue to wind your way through the cave systems, alert for probe droids and lightsaber crystals... whatever those look like. As you move deeper into the mountain you enter a room and each of you finds yourself alone -- with a vague fog that obscures things and deadens sound. Above you, you each notice a black ... sky.. with stars. The fog that surrounds you feels... smokey, but doesn't harm your breathing, nor does it cause blessed moisture to condense on your skin in the arid environment of the planet. It's.. insubstantial but opaque.

Heyop blinks and looks around moving the glowrod as he circles around in place...

"Well #%&@!" he comments to himself he realizes as he tries to get his bearings.
