2.0 - Lure of the Lost

Letting out a low whistle Csillag will call to the others with a loud whisper, "Where did everyone go?"

Dagger holsters his blaster and starts to walk forward into the fog cautiously. What sort of illusion is this?, he calls out into the foggy nothingness. Heyop, if this is a trick of yours it is not amusing.

Looking around Heyop sighed holding the Glowrod out in one hand his other free in the air in case something happens he tries to focus... how much of that gas did he get a whiff of? Was it hallucinogenic? Was he 'wigging out' as the kids put it?

"This is thoroughly creepy." Csillag says out loud hoping that someone will respond.

Feeling more than a little uneasy she'll crouch low to the ground and move slowly forward with both of her arms extended.

"Dagger, my friend!" Urik comes loping toward Dagger, a goofy, giddy grin looking odd on his usually somber face.

He runs toward you, looking for all the world like a lost puppy that has suddenly found a friend. Just a few paces from you he seems to remember himself and stops short, suddenly awkward. But the grin still tugs at his lips. "It is good to see you. Did you...have visions as well? Did you...?" Urik trails off awkwardly, holding up the haft of a lightsaber. It is longer than the usual design, with textured grips along its length.

Dagger walks towards Urik, as happy to see him as ever. When Urik stops short Dagger continues on and wraps him in a hug. It is good to see you as well. I did indeed. I'm not entirely sure how to intepret if I did well or not, but I have produced this, he says happily as he produces a small lightsaber hilt as well. It looks no more larger than the hilt of a knife. Extending it produces a blue blade that is only about 1.5 feet. Longer than his previous knife, but not the full length of a traditional lightsaber.

Urik stiffens awkwardly under Dagger's hug, but after a moment, raises one hand and gingerly places it on Dagger's back. When Dagger steps back and shows Urik his shoto, he can see that Urik's eyes are welling over with tears, although a smile still tugs at his lips.

Suddenly Urik barks out a loud, wild laugh. It is close to a sob at first, but quickly become a rolling, fruity belly laugh full of joy. Hearing it out of context, nobody would guess Urik was even capable of making such a sound.

After a moment, Urik steps back into a ready stance, and ignites his lightsaber. His eyes twinkle with laughter and he is smiling hugely, "Let see how it stands up then! C'mon, we both need practice!"

Dagger looks pensive at first then a grin crosses his face. He sparks up the blade again. You should know, my trial has helped me learn a little more. This won't be my usually knife fight.

He laughs and moves to advance on Urik, being careful only to spar and not to try and hit him.

Daggers moves are more elaborate and he uses his agility to leverage his strikes for more impact.

Urik parries your blow and manages to push off most of Dagger's attack (using Parry Talent; take 3 strain to reduce damage by 2+ranks in Perry; 2 ranks; -4 to damage). If this had been a real fight, the blow would have nicked Urik's robes, but not hurt him (counting in my soak there).

Urik laughs with delight and comes in with his own attack, moving with more force than speed, Dagger is easily able to duck under Urik's swing, but Urik doesn't seem to mind; he's still smiling broadly.

Daggers new technique keeps him out of the blades striking range. He dances to the side. It's about time you got a sword that is worthy of you Urik, he jests, referring back to Malefax's sword.

Dagger flicks the small blade around and closes in once more.

Urik's smile fades a bit, and Dagger notices the empty scabbard on Urik's back.

Urik disengages, powers down his saber, and his face goes somber. "You killed Malefax, Dagger. You took away my chance at revenge. It was...the thought of killing him was all I lived for. It was the only thing that kept me going; the thought that I needed to live in order to avenge my family. But you did it. You stole my chance at vengeance..." Urik pauses for a long moment, looking Dagger in the eye.

"...and I never thanked you. I do now: Thank you. Who knows what I may have become if I had...well," Urik looks around at this sunny glade, then back at the cave, "Whatever is here, whatever piece of the Force lives in this place, it showed me what I could have become," he looks back at Dagger, "I threw away Malefax's sword. But this is all a vision, isn't it? Will it still be here, in this vision, when we leave?"

Dagger powers down his saber as well. I don't know. I don't know where this place is, or where we really are. I don't know when it ends and I don't know a lot of things. I'm glad I took your revenge away from you, because mine will continue to haunt me. When I was tested. I tried to take the very same action. To take that revenge, and I lost., Dagger says. Fiddling with the hilt of the deactivated saber.

I would have lost far more of this wasn't a vision. I would have lost my life, my ability to fight the dark side, he gestures out to Urik as he adds, "I would have lost my friends."

Dagger puts away the saber. I'm glad you have found a way past the vengeance and anger. I hope I can find a way past as well. He looks off into the sky, feeling the sun on his face and recites.


There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force.


He sits on the ground cross legged, no longer looking at Urik, just staring at the sky and clouds.
