Heyop clasps a hand on Urik's shoulder, "I have a feeling you're kind of already getting there... maybe a little short but you're young... you'll get there." he states tussling Urik's hair, "Corporal?"
Jun 22, 2016 9:07 pm
Urik stiffens at Heyop's touch, seems about to brush it off, then seems to stifle a smile. That ghost of a smile fades as he thinks, What can we do against such unthinking dogma? Is there no refuge for people like us? Is this why the Jedi sought political power? Because they were hunted and hounded? There's so much I don't know...
Jun 23, 2016 9:21 pm
"I really don't have much to add. The Empire stands for order and peace. You are a threat to that -- so says everything I've been taught. Of course you would say that you aren't a threat to order and peace - who wouldn't take that position? If you are really not a threat -- then you would find someone and turn yourself in and accept whatever judgment was rightfully delivered."
Jun 24, 2016 12:27 pm
I guess we'll agree to disagree. You have faith in the Empire and the system and that it's based on what's best for the people... I think it's actually geared towards only 'some people' Heyop comments. With discussions done he'd wait until it was time for them to be dropped off.
Jun 24, 2016 2:16 pm
Urik shakes his head, "'Rightfully delivered...'You paint yourself our enemies by your inflexibility. If you reflect the ideals of the Empire at large, then we were destined to be enemies." Urik stand up, "I hope, for your sake, that we never meet in battle again," and takes his leave of the troopers.

Kaveri, how long till we can get off this boat? I think we are all going a little stir crazy, I say over the comms, ready to get out of here as soon as possible.
Jun 24, 2016 3:16 pm
Mal gets on the comms ""we'll be planetside soon. I think we all could use a little fresh air"

Back in sub-space, the Strider limps a little less obviously. Though the G9 rigger is a serviceable, if not sexy, ship. You easily manage to connect into starport traffic control at New Coronet. Pulling into orbit and thence into landing, the world is a beautiful green and blue globe with gauzy white clouds painted attractively across its surface. You land on a spacious landing pad perched over a large body of water with impressive waterfalls cascading nearby.

It really is quite lovely.

The dockmaster interacts with Mal entirely virutally -- a small frieghter isn't notable enough for a personal visit. Docking fees are a couple hundred credits and within moments, the Kirtan Strider settles comfortably onto the pad.

During hyperspace, Mal and a few others poked around at the hyperdrive. Over near the entrance ramp, there's a relatively large gouge in the corridor -- almost as if a lightsaber carelessly slashed through the wall -- and several critical power relays, various networking paths, and at least one coolant pathway were severed or damaged. Mal doesn't think the work look that egregious, but it could be a little fiddly and a pain in the butt to fix.

Looking over the jagged cut in the wall I scratch my head. Ya know, I just don't know how it could have happened, Mal. I mean there were certainly a LOT of stormtroopers firing blasters. Could be a blaster scorch maybe, I say quickly, patting him on the back and striding off to see what else is around.

Mal shakes his head and starts to mentally calculate how to fix this mess

ok, so reason #1 not everyone needs a lightsaber...
OOC:
any hull trauma? I have solid repairs which let me fix one more point of hull trauma
Jun 24, 2016 9:34 pm
OOC:
No -- no hull trauma. This will be fixable with some pocket change and time. A roll will be about how much time it takes, but little else (absent a despair, I think success is pretty much guaranteed). Let me get a target up later tonight when I've had the chance to consult some rules.

Mal checks out the rest of the ship, looking to where he could make some adjustments and really tune this heap into something that can really fly
Jun 27, 2016 3:23 pm
I find where Heyop has gotten off too. Heyop, how do we plan to get rid of the bucketheads? I mean this isn't exactly a remote space. We can't keep them in the ship very long on planet here. It probably wouldn't look too good if we just dropped off some troopers in shackles at a local pub and said we just escaped them.

OOC:
I'll take a hard Knowledge check (or Core Worlds if you have it) if folks would like a little more info on Xyquine 2 beyond what's in the encyclopedia. Lemme know if you think you should have a boost for some reason.

"We can't just drop them off 80 clicks outside a village in the wilderness with supplies for three days & their weapons 5 clicks down the trail from their drop zone? They'll be able to huff it I think." Heyop shots back with a raised eyebrow wondering why the logistics seem odd. "Is the planet fully populated or something?"
OOC:
I don't think I should roll that... Might hurt myself.

First we need time. We need to get this ship repaired, and I doubt we can have a mechanic poking around on the ship with two bucket heads in a closet. Second, what if we get spotted on long-range sensors poking around in the middle of nowhere, then a few days later two stranded troopers are picked up there. Seems a bit suspicious, Dagger is listing off on his fingers as he goes, Finally, 3 days worth of supplies? Their weapons? Do you want to give them a shave and a shower too? Why not give them a handful of credits and a nice gift basket while we are at it.

Dagger clearly looks like he is getting annoyed with Heyop's incessant need to take care of these mindless drones of the Empire.

OOC:
aw hell, I'll roll
Mal tries to think of what he knows about this system but draws a blank

Rolls

knowledge

2 Advantage, 1 Failure, 2 Threat

Total: 1 Failure

I'm purposefully letting you guys hammer some stuff out -- if you get tired of it, or if it slows down I'll pick up the reins and advance the story. Note that Mal can probably fix the ship sufficiently to make the hyperdrive work -- it will take a few days and he's liable to be a little irked at amateur lightsaber hour for awhile.
Jun 29, 2016 5:16 am
OOC:
am I the only mechanic?
Mal approaches the rest of the crew out of earshot of the stormtroopers

"Well, our hyperdrive is well and truly flammered right now thanks to an undisciplined lightsaber... But I think I can get it working if I had the right tools and a few days. Do we have that kind of time planetside? What are we going to do about the troopers?"
Jun 29, 2016 11:25 am
Ask Heyop. He seems to want to throw them a going away party with a good portion of our supplies, I say to Mal.
