He cast a look back to the bigger group leaving. "If we truly were expecting you, the Legate would know. I would suggest going with them at the very least. I can accompany if you're uncomfortable being in their... vicinity."
As the group headed up the stairs, the upper courtyard is revealed in its entirety. A strangely ornate stone fountain of a manticore ejecting water from its mouth and stinger stood, stretched in a roaring pose. There were several doors, two along the left wall, one in the leftmost corner, where the courtyard's wall curved. There was also one door at the back wall, and two more doors on the far right wall. The subtle scent of lavender drifted on the air, though no plants were in sight.
