Avaline quickly looks around, hoping to see what the commotion is. Nervous energy makes her ready her light mace, but she doesn't look excited at having to use it.

Rolls

Initiative - (1d20+3)

(4) + 3 = 7

Perception - (1d20+2)

(18) + 2 = 20

The hot sun streams through the door, illuminating the room you're in very well. While you see Sasha hop to the side and squeak in alarm, you don't see what is bothering her. Those of you before Initiative count 12 can ready actions if you wish.

"Huge scorpion! At Sasha’s feet!" Avaline squeaks.

Sasha calls as she sees the monster at her feet, SHIT. and attacks the Huge Scorpion with her small shortsword. Seeing she isn't doing well she moves away as far as she can and still be in the room.
OOC:
Action: Attack & Move action: Disengage.

(3) + 1 = 4

Krazzik perception - (1d20+6)

Knowing where to look, you can all see the faint translucent shadow of the three foot scorpion. You may act normally, if your initiative is 12+.
OOC:
Sasha cannot attack and Disengage, that's a 5e action I think, unless there is a class feature I'm forgetting. She can take a 5 foot step away for sure. But a longer movement would provoke an attack of opportunity. Withdraw in Pathfinder is a full round action. I'll assume she moved 5' unless corrected.

I'll add the scorpion to the map when I have a chance.

Jabari can see the scorpion well enough, and takes a big swing at it with his falchion, making a sickening crunch as it smashes through the scorpion's carapace and meets the ground with a thud.

Rolls

Falchion Attack - (1d20+4)

(19) + 4 = 23

Damage - (2d4+4)

(43) + 4 = 11

OOC:
Possible critical, roll again to hit and damage, too.

Qralloq says:

OOC:
Ooops sorry, so it's just 3 + 3 + 4.

Cross runs up to stab the critter with her rapier
OOC:
1st fumble! Do I get a price???
Last edited October 1, 2019 6:17 pm

Rolls

rapier 18-20/x22, pricing - (1d20+4, 1d6-1)

1d20+4 : (1) + 4 = 5

1d6-1 : (6) - 1 = 5

Oct 1, 2019 6:35 pm
OOC:
Roll to hit again. If Cross misses, it's a fumble, if she his, it's just a miss.
Jabari lunging to Sasha's defense, one shots the poor creature who was probably just trying to stab her to death, is that so wrong?

This underwhelming combat is over.

OOC:
confirming fumble - just a miss

Knowledge (Nature) DC 11 to identify it, if you so choose.

It is an extraordinarily large scorpion with a translucent carapace. Its internal organs are visible, but only just through its bare opacity.

So back to town for supplies, or onwards? Note: a crowbar won't help move the wheel blocking the door, unless you buy a giant one, only effort.
Oct 1, 2019 7:48 pm
Cross is examining the tip of her rapier. She almost wedged it down between two of the flagstones.
Well that was..exciting. Let's go get those supplies we talked about. Shovels, crowbars and their bigger brother the prybar

OOC:
Sorry for crossing gaming systems. Yes, a 5' step away was correct. Was I suppose roll some extra for the natural one I rolled?
Sasha looks over strange creature with some curiosity not that it isn't moving or attacking her. She is rather thankful for it didn't get a hold of her. Sure glad that you killed it fast.

Rolls

Trained (bard wise) Nature check - (1d20+2)

(5) + 2 = 7

Oct 1, 2019 8:12 pm
OOC:
oh yeah, roll that fumble check.
Sasha is baffled, other than a general sense that scorpions do not normally get this big, nor are they usually see-through.
Oct 1, 2019 8:18 pm
Fumble check

Rolls

Fumble check - (1d20)

(5) = 5

Sasha's slashing attack as she scampered away left her nauseated for one round.
