[Gameplay] Part 1: The Lottery & Tomb of Akhentepi

She sputters out, I never seen anything like that before. as she works to steady herself. She easily puts away her sword as she looks about.

Krazzik motions with his hand and commands Zaggra to search the room with a single word, "Seek!" as he looks around carefully for more strange scorpions.

Sasha stands like a statue for a moment as the thought that there could be more. Unfreezing she stands there and looks about.

Zaggra tracks the creatures scent outside. It looks like it was hiding the heat of the day in the shade at the side of the building, followed you in, and attacked Sasha immediately.

"I guess we'll be on the lookout for more of those," says Avaline in a less-than-confident tone. "In the meantime, maybe we should try turning this wheel before we go all the way back to town?"

I think that would be wise. Ok then. Let's all of us give it a shove.

Sasha says as she glance out the door, Lets get back to business. Not that she moves to try to heave the stone wheel away.

Working together, for of you can move the stone (taking 20, DC 28). The stone wheel which weighs almost three tons, slowly rolls to the side.

This square room is starkly devoid of any markings or adornment. In the center of the chamber’s floor, a square shaft drops straight down into darkness. A faint musty odor rises from the pit. A single piton has been hammered into the stone floor by the northeast corner of the pit, and a dusty length of rope dangles from the piton into the darkness of the shaft.

The shaft is about ten feet across.

Krazzik moves over to the piton and rope and examines them to see if they are relatively new compared to the tomb. "This is curious, why would there be a rope and anchor point already here?"

The rope appears to have been cut 5' down. The shaft is sixty feet deep and the sides look pretty smooth.

The rope is very rotted.

At the doorway, That does seem curious for sure. Not sure I like that thought.

Glancing to the shaft, You think it is a death fall for sure?

Jabari peers down into the hole, wrinkling his nose at the smell.
Seems that way. The rope must have broke. There is probably something or somethings at the bottom of that. Tomb robbers I expect.

Cross, opens her pack, find a torch and lights it. Then she drops it down into the shaft.
Without riding the wind down, you would break more than just your leg.

Cross examines the shaft and the piton, and basically does her very best in securing the climbing arrangements. She lowers a fresh rope into the shaft from her climbing kit.

Are we sure we don't need a crowbar and a shovel before we go down?

The torch bounces a few times, rolls to the side a bit, and burns on the floor. You see nothing revealed but get the sense from the light texture that the chamber below is similar in size to the one you're in at the top.

You know I really want to explore now that we have the way open. Crowbar and shovel might be handy.

After you Sasha, Jabari says playfully.

She smiles, I think we needs a better rope first. You have some handy?

With a smile Jabari replies: Cross has already tied a rope for us.

Sasha turns around. Oh So she has. Sasha strides over to the rope, Look good and secure? before she starts shimming down it. She will cast cantrip light now and then to keep with some vision as needed.

Cross' rope ends about fifteen feet above the floor. It's sixty feet down and the rope is only fifty feet long, with some used in the knot.
