The creature struggles to gain its feet and eviscerate Sasha!

It slips and slides out of the greased area and slams at Sasha. This thing is inordinately strong! But misses.

You're all up. Grease is no longer a factor unless you try and get behind it.

OOC:
Smiles. Lots of doll pieces everywhere now. Was a nice finish.

As the tiny doll pieces scatter to the sides of the room from the force of her blow, you take a breather. The Grease will dissipate within a minute, so you take the time to review the room. Sasha notices that the chests are sealed with wax.
Quote:
Beyond the hallway, you see a table displaying a three-dimensional diorama occupying much of the north side of the room (i.e., to your left). Three shields with different designs are displayed upon a rack against the far wall, while various weapons hang from another rack along the south wall (your right). Arrayed around the room are five small chests and a clay urn.
Quote:
Cross notices that there are four sources on magic in the far room, one from a scarab shaped shield, and three from dolls (each about 18 inches tall) in the diorama.
Oct 25, 2019 3:52 pm
Cross picks up and examens the shield

Rolls

Knowledge (Arcana) - (1d20+7)

(8) + 7 = 15

Oct 25, 2019 4:04 pm
Spellcraft is used to Identify magic item properties while using the Detect Magic spell. For Cross, that means +9 instead of +7, but she just barely fails.

Feeling danger, Sasha takes her time searching the wax sealed chests. Now lets see what we have here.
OOC:
Taking a 20 on search for traps (29)
Oct 25, 2019 4:37 pm
Sasha takes her time, but finds no traps.
Oct 25, 2019 6:46 pm
Sasha says before she goes over to the clay urn, Well these look okay but the do have wax seal on them. Anyone want to take look at the seals to see if they understand why they are there. Still cautious Sasha will spend time to check the clay urn out before trying to open it.
OOC:

She does another take 20 (29) perception check for traps

OOC:
Since Jabari can read/understand Osiriani, Ancient Osiriani can he take 20 for the seals?
Oct 25, 2019 9:08 pm
They're just wax that seal the chests as if from moisture. They're not sealed as a noble might seal a letter.
Oct 25, 2019 10:40 pm
We can carry them out as is, break the seal outside

Lets move on. There was a door...

Avaline nods. "Somewhere safer than this place, perhaps. Though I hate to think that there might be something useful inside that we're missing," she says, musing thoughtfully.

She crouches down next to one of the chests, lays her fingers lightly on the wax. "We could melt it, perhaps? Hold a torch nearby?"
Oct 27, 2019 7:18 am
It is wax, you could probably peel it off with a fingernail or dagger or sharp stone.
Oct 27, 2019 4:40 pm
Jabari removes his knife from its sheath.

Here... allow me to remove these.. Then he proceeds to whittle the seals away.

Treasure: Most of the arms and armor on the racks are mundane items, but Akhentepi’s khopesh and spear are both masterwork weapons. The composite shortbow is still serviceable, but its string has deteriorated, and must be replaced before the weapon can be used. The scarab-shaped steel shield is a magic shield.

The chests are of good craftsmanship but less ornate than the one found in the room with the chariot. None of the chests are locked or trapped, but each has been sealed with wax. They contain a sack with a 100 gp and 42 sp, and several scroll tubes holding papyrus records, private memos, expense ledgers, speeches, and private correspondence. Among the papers are discussions regarding the unfinished tomb of Akhentepi’s mistress. There is little else of interest in the papers, but to a collector or Osirionologist, these documents are worth 250 gp total if undamaged. The clay urn is also sealed with wax and contains nard, an expensive, oily perfume, worth 75 gp.

Sasha holds no interest in the weapons as they are obviously too large for her effectively handle as well as the shields. She is highly interested in the papers. Winks. As well as gold and such. This room is great. Well worth the fight. She obviously has not any problem at all with tomb raiding. Generally speaking Little Sasha isn't really great about carrying anything.

"These are amazing," Avaline says in not much more than a whisper. "If we find nothing else, these papers would be worth all the effort."

She very carefully looks through them, touching them as little and as gently as possible.
