There is only one way to go, down the other stairs. There are double doors. How do you proceed?

Cross examines the door and then tries to push it open

Little Sasha seems a bit timid after the last mess with the dolls and such watches Cross from top of the stairs.

A massive mirror stretches across the southern wall of this chamber, flanked by two statues. The statue to the east depicts a tall, gaunt woman in a flowing, hooded gown, holding an hourglass. The figure to the west is that of a jackal-headed man carrying a scepter or staff in his hand. Stone double doors, standing slightly ajar, lead to the east and west. A third set of double doors exits the room to the north. Torch holders sculpted in the shape of bird skulls are built in each corner, and a thin layer of dust covers every surface.

Jabari's eyes light up as he is drawn to the weapons. Picking up the bow and glancing at it at different angles, he proclaims, This is a good bow. It would be worth fixing if anyone has some spare string.

Placing it gently on the ground he examines the rest of the weapons and removes the sac of gold and silver pieces. Very nice. And the spear and khopesh are of master workmanship! We have found some good treasure my friends!

As always Cross detects magic before entering the room
Nov 5, 2019 1:04 am
From the door, Cross can see that the massive mirror has a faint Transmutation aura. There are no other signs of magic.

Any of you might be able to discern the identity of the statues with a Knowledge (Religion) check.

Jabari spots tracks in the dust beween the east and west doors. Bennekheb adds that they look like the tracks of the vermin type.

Sasha moves up next to Cross as she looks on. Probably a trap someplace.

There are footprints between those doors over there. Take care, there may be vermin hidden about.

Jabari stands ready, looking around for trouble.

And the Mirror is enchanted with transmutation magi of some sort.
Carefully Cross steps into the room and towards the mirror

As Cross looks in the mirror, she sees a reflection of what she would expect, except there is also the image, as if behind her, of a human man with bronzed skin in his forties, wearing white ceremonial robes and a headdress. The reflected images appear stern and disapproving, regardless of your actual facial expression.

The man is clearly Akhentepi.

"Em hotep Akhentepi" (Ancient Osiriani for wishing peace and happiness)
Cross gives the mirror image a polite bow

Akhentepi grows sterner in the image. Let's have Cross make a Fortitude save.

Avaline watches Cross and the mirror with growing unease. Though she doesn't look directly into the mirror, she can see that it's affecting her friend somehow.

She starts forward, one hand raised with the intent of lending an encouraging touch on the shoulder.

Sasha begins looking about trying to see if there is a transparent or invisible creature about.

Sasha sees all of the invisible creatures, which she surmises is none.

Avaline continues forward and rests her hand lightly on Cross's shoulder. "What is it?" she asks softly. Now in a reasonable position to do so, she also looks into the mirror while she awaits the answer to her question.
