[Gameplay] Part 1: The Lottery & Tomb of Akhentepi

It's not often I fight creatures like this and larger than me, but here goes.

Jabari swings his trusty falchion to the left and then brings it back to center and slices it up in one motion towards the creatures middle, hoping for a good hit.

Avaline notes for 7 damage, but piercing damage doesn't do a great job, either.

Bennekheb casts Firebolt, and hits it hard.

The sand worm thing snaps its mouth like opening at Jabari. The creature finds a soft spot and claps brutally. (12 damage).

Jabari grabs his stomach and falls to the ground, groaning as he topples. Sand and grime cover him from head to toe, his trusty falchion laying by his side. He rolls away from the sand thing and is still.

That's right, it's a size large creature made of sand. A slit seems to function as the creature's mouth

Cross seens that her attack had little effect, she whips her rapier to the side and a shimmer now trails her blade as she raises the blade towards the sand snake again

with a swift action, she makes her rapier into a +1 weapon for 1 minute

Seeing Jabari fall, Avaline lets out a cry and drops her crossbow. Limping over to him as quickly as she can, she drops to one knee and touches his shoulder with the tips of her fingers.

The warmth of healing energy flows from her hand into the big warrior.

Sasha sword is not a Slashing weapon. It is a piercing weapon. Does that make a difference?

Bennekheb continues to fire his FireBolts at the creature. He strikes again, and the creature shudders, obviously grievously wounded, then escapes toward one of the holes in the walls.

Each of you in melee range may make an Attack of Opportunity should you so choose.

Thanks to Avaline, Jabari is feeling much better, shrugs off his diminishing pain and gets up on him feet. Feeling a little embarrassed by his display of weakness, he swings at the sand thing again. I will not be cowed by sand, he shouts!

Sasha appears to be happy that Jabari is again with his senses. She walks back retrieves her whip.

With the strange beast retired away, Sasha will stride across the room to see what is beyond now that the way appears clear.
