"Might be if the summoner is weaker by blood in the pecking order, plus no inate magical aptitude he can't tell someone else what to do that's of higher ability or a pureblood..." he states pulling out a pipe and chewing for a bit before packing it he eyes the others to see what they have to add.

Lady Argus purses her lips and shakes her head slowly. "I'd hate to think that Dribbage had accomplices. For now, I'm hoping this was just a one-off occurrence, one bad apple who went unchecked for too long. But looking into how he got the books he did might be a worthwhile inquiry down the road. For now, I'd like you all to take some time off to recuperate. That'll also give Ladie Olarie Dribbage some time to cool off. I don't think she wants to speak to us anytime soon."

"Wot is to become of Vizeron? How serious are 'is croimes considered? Desecration of graves, opening a gate to the ynfaernal within city-limits, self-transmutation into demon? Oll dat..."

"Just goes to show you can't hold family in high expectations." Nera mutters rather bitterly. Her mood is turned around as the silver is passed around, and she seems to be inspecting what feels like every newly gained coin.

"If that dark book is of no use to us, perhaps this church would buy it from us, yes? It is supposedly a collectors item."

OOC:
I've been playing it as if Lady Argus isn't aware of the forbidden tome in case Mcneils5 had some desire to add it to Hildar's arsenal. (Again, it will help with spells specifically aimed at summoning Ynfernael creatures, but not in any pleasant way.) Do you all think you would have kept it secret from her, or would you have turned it over as "evidence?" The Durvin clerics would presumably very much want to keep it out of circulation.
"The church isn't known for leniency regarding this type of thing, Bruv," Lady Argus says. "Execution seems likely. Did any of you get an inkling that Dribbage might be redeemable? We might put in a word if you'd prefer he get a chance at rehabilitation." The lady then looks to Nera. "What was that you mentioned, Nera? Something about a book?"

"Oi don't know 'at 'e's 'Dribbage' at oll anymore... Oi 'ope 'ey do put ... it... out of it's misery."
OOC:
If it comes to a group vote or something, Bruv would probably see it as proper procedure to turn the tome over. He wouldn't ever consider keeping it some secret.

OOC:
i guess Nekurr would Turn over the book so the clerics can use it to close the portal and we move on to something less risky . Not his problem anymore :D

(However it feels like that book may disappear again )
"I can feel some luck coming this way" says Nekurr as the silver passes around. "Rehabilitation? It felt like Vizeron didn’t mean to cause any real harm. More like a prank gone too far... I guess he may be rehabilitated..." the cleric then considers this for a moment "Not sure those legs of him can be though..."

I would argue we would let Lady Argus in on the book, but not the church. Ultimately I agree it's Mcneil's choice regarding the matter, so they'll decide.

"I'll put in a word about what you said, Nekurr. If Dribbage is part of some larger group, the clerics may want to keep him alive anyway."
OOC:
Will wrap things up once Mcneils5 weighs in on the book. FWIW, it wasn't meant as loot -- this isn't really meant to be a "find loot" kind of game. But I'd never step on a player's prerogative if Mcneils5 wants to have Hildar start dabbling in dark magic or something.

Hildar seems to be weiging with something for a while but eventually sighs and pulls the tome out from his robes and slides it across the table to Lady Argus "Whilst it is tempting to keep this from a perspective of what good one could do with the knowledge I think it is blatantly obvious to everyone how much of a slippery slope it would be. I am not sure whether it would be advisable to hand this over to the clerics however so I will leave that to your judgement my lady"
OOC:
Yeah if Dribbage hadn't been hybridised then Hildar probably would have kept the book however such an obvious indication of where that kind of thing can lead is pretty off-putting lol

"Thank you, Hildar," the lady says, collecting the tome. "Technically, this is Lady Dribbage's property, but I'll request that the clerics look it over to make sure it's safe to return to her custody. At that point, it would be reasonable to ask that she pass it on to you for your studies." She smiles—a rare sight indeed. "Take a few days off. You deserve it. Thank you for your dedication. Good night."
