Rolling his eyes in frustration, Cassian raises his shield and sword, moving in to attack.

Cassian's sword blow drops one of the kobolds (1) immediately, and he smacks another with his shield bash. The kobold that he hit with his shield (4) moves in to attack. It clumsily stabs at Cassian, but misses, the bright sunlight hampering its attacks. Happs puts an arrow into another of the kobolds (3), bringing it low. The remaining kobold (2), dazzled by the sunlight and seeing two of its companions killed, decides that discretion is the better part of valor and runs, dropping its spear.

Cassiel is up. One (wounded) kobold remains.

Cassian swings mightily, but the blow is clumsy and misses the agile kobold. Happs, however, does not miss, and quickly dispatches the creature.

All this over some radishes. Cass motions for Haps to help him move the dead kobolds out and a way from the bushes.

Once the bodies are beside each other, Cass quickly searches them and then checks out the radish patch itself.

The kobolds had nothing on them aside from short spears, slings, and leather armor. The radishes are fragrant and bright white in color but otherwise unremarkable.

You and Happs move into the forest to the northwest and begin your searching there. The day passes largely without incident, though Happs almost manages to twist his ankle midmorning, tripping over an exposed root. It is almost sunset when you hear a sound not unlike deep breathing coming from a nearby thicket.

Readying his sword and shield, Cassian approaches the thicket carefully. Motioning for Happs to cover him, Cass moves closer. Whoever's there, you can come on out, we mean no harm.

Cass is surprised to see a large rabbit hop out! Surely that was not making the breathing noises, however. But further inspection finds nothing in the thicket.
