As per my reading of the rules, you can all choose the same connections.

Also, just clarifying my intent a little, these questions refer to something that happened in the past, where you all met. So FlyingSucculent, feel free to finish off that story, tell us how you discovered our as yet unnamed hacker, and how it all went

Also, RoAries, just to ease your mind a little, anything beyond the connections is for me in the transmission, so you won't need to know anything beyond what FlyingSucculent posted

But we can't use each one more than twice during character generation That's why I was asking which one everyone were going to use. :D

Oh, I thought it was a hook for the current one, as if we only met a couple of days ago. I'd like to change the entire story then, just give me some time. XD

So I would like a shark Favor from a Connection, and I do like Krishna's stat block, looks like Roaries you're not using that from her?

Also, I have tentatively (pending GM approval) created the Object: "Shock Gloves"... one of my faves for infiltrator-types in Shadowrun. Used the adjectives: "non-lethal damage", and "small" - 2 $reds. Sound groovy GM?

Thanks, flying succulent!

Ideas for about injury treated by White Rabbit:
1) Arms were crushed by a vehicle driven by a criminal Chua Ming was chasing after. He knew that the police doctor sets his prices high and that his career is over with broken arms, so he went looking for an alternative in the neighbourhood which is likely better. He found and was healed by White Rabbit, and has his arms replaced by Anje Kaisu. He became a vigilante so as to deal punishment without restrictions.
2) He was part of a police raid. Turns out that the target is simply a political dissident, but the instructions was to assassinate. Chua Ming was shocked upon the relevation, and his colleagues decided that he was going to be a whistle-blower, so they too try to kill him. Chua Ming managed to escape with a couple of gun shots to his arms and sides, but barely survived. He stumbled into the care of White Rabbit who found him bleeding out. Chua Ming soon adopted the name of The Merlion, a vigilante who seeks revenge and justice.
3) After being accidentally stabbed with drugs, he knew his career is over. The police doctor refused to help to avoid scandal, and so Chua Ming seek help from White Rabbit to cure him. He now hates his colleagues who abandoned him, and became a superhero as an idea that suddenly came to him while he was takignn drugs. He has a dual personality as The Merlion.

(Let me know which you think is better, also it can mix and match aswell.)

I have my sights on Shark favor from Krishna, but if you both want something from Krishna too, I can switch to Cheyne instead. :D

(And I like the second story of The Merlion most!)

PS: I'm going to be a bit inactive until weekend, just warning. :D

Ok good, just making sure it was clear that you weren’t limited in your ability to select connections

Emsquared- I’m happy with that item

I’m just going to accept the character sheets so that they’re publicly visible as we get through these collaborative bits

Alright, I have made Anje, Krishna and White Rabbit my connections. It says can also add protagonists, but is there an additional benefit to do so?

Hey GM, sorry if I am missing this somewhere, but is the shark Favor only capable of being taken in 10 $red chunks? I was only needing like 2 to get my gear to where I wanted, but as I look it wasnt clear if I could take just 2...

RoAries, there is no mechanical bonus for adding the other protagonists as connections, but that is in addition to your three transmission connections, not instead.

Emsquared, I suppose it would make sense that you could borrow 10 kreds, then give 8 back, that would fulfil the mechanics of the favour. Though it may be better for you to keep the 8 in case you need some cash in game

Everyone, I also do need to know if you’re claiming a favour from a connection, it impacts the game situation.

Katana: cost 2
Barker: cost 2 (if guns are illegal, then use Fix by Krishna Gupton)
Kevlar Vest: cost 1
Specks: cost 4(cost 2, Fix by Durian Makan)

I'm back! :D Happy Halloween, everyone!

Wouldn't adjectives on each other will give us a bonus if we use actions on each other? Like, if you're protective towards other PC, you can use it to your advantage on some sort of protective roll, like jumping in front of them?

I'd like Shark from Krishna, if she's still available?

So, what are we doing about adjectives for connections? We are supposed to go around the table, each picking in order from the list, but I see everyone else already added them, shall I do it too?

Unnamed hacker, what did you say or do that The Merlion let you off on a misdemeanour rather than charging you for the full federal offence?
I think "Goodie" (as he's known on the street) was probably performing some unrelated, contract black-hat work for an unrelated party, on a Mark that Merlion was investigating. The copper's investigation, less him onto the nasty things Goodie was doing, but it just so happened that those nasty things let to a breakthrough in Merlion's case. And so, while he couldn't not do something, he did let the script-kid off easy. Maybe didn't attribute the bulk of what had been done to him.

Yeah I was gonna wait until everything else was done, then go around.

Hey all, just joined up and looking through the current character makeup, it looks like there's an infiltrator/hacker, heavy/face, detective/operator(or rigger if that's your speed)/healer, with some decent healer overlap. If I'm just trying to fill niches, it looks like shooter/physical specialist is open which I'm happy to play if that's what needs to happen, but is a little less interesting to me in a game that looks like it's less about pew pew and more about gumshoe. I'm wondering a couple of things:

GM: Do you see this game as being less action heavy, more action heavy, or a balanced mix?

RoAries: Is your character deliberately a face, or more intimidator/heavy? My original player concept with the book was an ex-"escort" turned degenerate gambler who's still a charmer and a bit of a con-man, but I don't want to step on another face's toes (not that good cop/bad cop doesn't have a place as well)

Everybody: What do you all think about party balance? Do we need a shooting specialist? Depending on the tone of the game that could be a huge achilles heel, or a hugely boring role as they might just hover in the background menacingly unless things go so tits up that everybody else is running out the door. That's my great fear. I RP mostly to develop a character and don't super look forward to playing a gun with legs. If I was to fill the shooter role, I'd be more interested in going the criminal/pilot smuggler route, but that would still leave us with no strong "Move"er. To be a min/max party makeup guy, it'd make sense to go soldierx2 + either crim or pilot, with either making sense, and I think I could find something fun inside of that if you all think that's what we should do, but I want to be sure that having a shooter in the group isn't going to upend the rest of the group or sideline the shooter, so was hoping to get a bit of input before I finalize a sheet.

My character can mischievously act in character of his persona, or become a threatening street warrior. So face and intimidator.

I think having a ranged specialist can support my melee-leaning combatant(Though I don't know how much combat will come up.)
Being a driver, or a drone-user might make things also interesting. But personally, I think fulfilling all roles is not too important.

Welcome to the game!

I always encourage people to play what interests them, rather than any perceived need to fill roles.

Also: avatar test

avatar test failed!?

ok, fixed

Hey, Eskaton, nice to see ya! :D

I finished with all the things up to connection adjectives.
Here's the story of how Rabbit knows Goodchild, hope it doesn't seem way too out of character for Trevor!
[ +- ] Rabbit and Goodchild
And here's my items (assuming that I can use Shark from Krishna). :D

I say play whatever you want! :D Even from a tactical standpoint, I'd rather try to see non-standard resolutions to encounters than having a character for any role. Plus, I think it's better to play the role you want to play.

So, I've got a first concept sheet up for Yancy "The Octopus" Cote. This is the face concept I had off the bat, but I'm working on a backup who'll be a firearms expert and general scoundrel, just waiting to hear from the GM about what they see the theme of the game trending toward and we can all talk together about what we think the best decision is.

Thanks so much for your input, guys!

Welcome, and sorry that I was absent for the weekend.

I’d prefer you to play something that excites you, if we don’t have a lot of combat prowess then we won’t get in as many fights.

Now that most people are most of the way through character generation, let’s do connection adjectives. One at a time, just post which adjective you’re taking. Make sure you don’t post again until everyone has had a turn. When we run out of adjectives I think we’re pretty close to starting. I’ve got a nice juicy mystery set up for y’all
