RoAries, I believe Kettle meant us to pick adjectives from the rules, not add our own. That's how rules say you should do it: pick adjectives from the list one after another, no repeats, until all are picked. You can assign the adjective you picked to any of your connection.Although I certainly wouldn't mind having custom ones, this list is somewhat limiting.

What if we took all? We have 4 players, right?

Manual says that you don't need adjectives for each connection, and you don't need more than 3 for the same connection. And if there's a new character after initial generation, they can pick the same adjectives.

Merlion - sympathetic. (Would you prefer The Merlion or Merlion, or both?)

I think the adjectives are supposed to go on NPCs, not PCs unless I'm reading the rules wrong, so i dont think you assign anything to the Merlion.

It says "to any of connections", and PCs are connections. I believe there're adjectives on PCs in the example in main rules, but I'll have to double-check later.

Edit: I checked, and yes, there are adjectives on PCs in the example. (See "Risk", for example, being on others' sheets.)

I missed that this was a collaborative process and had already assigned adjectives to my Contacts.

One of them was Krishna - protective. So I guess I'll just keep that!

Speaking of connections, Eskaton, do you want your character to be connected to either of already existing ones?
Goodchild, Rabbit and Merlion are all connected with each other right now, but I believe it's not required for all PCs to know each other. (Unless our GM rules so. :D)

Oh, my mistake, I see the example in the book now, I just assumed the connection b/w PC's would be more organic than that. Oops!

As far as connections b/w PC's go, here's a rough sketch of how he may connect with the other PC's:

White Rabbit: Every escort needs a discrete doctor to treat the inevitable "complications" of the job. White Rabbit was Yancy's go to guy, and while he's lost touch with White Rabbit since he's transitioned out of that career, he's still got his number and White Rabbit has Yancy's. You know, just in case.

Goodchild: When things got desperate, Yancy had to turn to the even shadier side of money making, and sought out a bit of software help in being able to tilt the odds of automated games toward himself. Talking to a friend of a friend, he got in touch with Goodie, a guy who could allegedly source the sort of set it and forget it program that even a techno idiot (at the time) like Yancy could make use of.

Merlion: Back in his working days, Yancy'd run into the law a time or two. Merlion in his prior life new Yancy as a frequent feature player in investigations and had used him as an informant a time or two, a position that Merlion still has occasion to take advantage of though now Yancy is more likely to ask for cash than protection as payment.

All of these are subject to player approval, of course. Let me know if I'm missing the mark on your characters' feel.

I like to think of connection adjectives between PCs mainly from technical side, like a nice bonus to get on rolls made for their sake, but not the entire definition of their relationship. (Especially considering the list the rules offer.)

And your take on Rabbit and Yancy's connection is officially approved by me. XD
(And I also want to read Yancy's bio now.)

Either Merlion or The Merlion is OK.
The connection is OK. So now, with being a wanted man instead of a cop, The Merlion would now try to work with Yancy on the other side of the law, but within his standards of morality.

White Rabbit - Trusting

@RoAries, totally, I figured as a vigilante, Merlion might take advantage of criminal sources that he'd developed as a legit cop, which means he has to resort to different forms of compensation.

Look at Rabbit and Merlion already being friends. :D
...it must be their similar taste in names.

Yancy is a man, I'm not sure abt Cheyne, but I figured Yancy was attractive enough to be an escort so Cheyne might be lustful either way. Who's to say what their orientation is? (the gm, thats who)

White Rabbit is a man and bisexual, although he has little to no interest in starting a romantic relationship while on the job.
I wouldn't be against RPing romance, though - but of course, the limits on that depend on our GM. XD

NPCs, as the rules state, might be of any gender, depending on GM's decision.
Connection adjective describes how PC feels about the connection, not how connection feels about them. Just saying in case you missed it!
