Okay so does that mean Missy is going to join Helios back by the entrance out of view and out of sight of cameras? Currently Missy the Security Guard is still walking the docks if I remember correctly ;) and the first part of the plan entails discussing it with Missy to get her thoughts before going forward as two heads are often better than just one

Yes, Missy will back Heliios'es play. If Helios waves her into a camera blindspot, then she will do it

OOC:
Okay so am I supposed to post that Missy moves to the entrance where Helios flags her down to step into a no visible spot? Or do you want to post that -- I do not think we both need to do it and I am okay (aka you have explicit permission to do this with my PC) with you doing it but I do not want to do it without explicit permission form you as I try never to move other player's characters without such an agreement made up front

OOC:
is my way to say, move her around, describe how we execute a boat heist

OOC:
Okay how about I just mover her to where Helios is and have Helios share with Missy his plan so you can take over and give your thoughts/ideas and general feedback on the proposed plan -- I am not omnipotent by any stretch of the imagination I just have an idea ;) -- heck my first inclination was to just find someone willing to take us for trade -- but I am cool with this plan as well
Helios waited patiently in his out of sight position for Missy to arrive once she did he waved her over. Once she too was out of view, Helios outlined his plan to see what she thought about it. "Okay here is what I am thinking, first we both go completely invisible and approach the ship. Then since I can traverse the a surface without disturbing it I would go on board first and see if I can find any in place security then either disable it or at least know where it is so I can let you know before you step on board. Once we are both on board you would get out of sight and I would take a position upon the ocean side of the boat and create an illusion of the boat over the boat while causing the real boat to seem to no longer exist. Then you summon up a minor water elemental and use it to slowly move the real boat out to sea while I maintain the illusion that the boat is still in place. Once we get far enough away I will make the illusion seem to sink which should give us enough to time to finish putting out to sea. So what do you think, do you think it would work and/or any suggestions or other ideas or concerns?" Helios looked expectantly at Missy as he always did after outlining one of his plans. He always seemed to get so excited about them and sometimes they were good and only needed minor tweaks if that and sometimes they needed major overhauls both of which he never had a problem with when Missy outlined her own thoughts in regard to any of his plans.

I'll help clarify, both Helios and Missy are near the entrance, outside of security camera range. You're both about to approach the boat, under magical cover of some sort. When next to the boat, I'll grant no extra effort is needed to step from the pier onto the boat. On the boat itself, you want to check for security, and move the boat with magic while camouflaging it in some way. (And you are not operating the engines).

If so, go for it. First step I need your Spellcasting for the magical cover you'll use to get to the boat. Once we clear that, I need the second step, getting on the boat and checking for security. Third step later...

Sounds pretty much like the plan I put forth -- however Helios is waiting to hear back from Missy to see if she feels there are any issues with that plan and/or if there are any elements she feels might need to be added to that plan and/or if she is good to go with it as is or tweaked according to her feedback

Yep, wanted to clarify and let @runkyndig jump in

Before we start, can open the doors on the ship? Get the engine started?
Missy is not fond of poking hols in Helios plan, but it has to be done before they start
Perhaps the smaller boat would be better in that reguard
Mar 7, 2020 7:01 pm
Helios thinks for a bit considering Missy's additions then responds, "Well the problem with getting the engines started means that any sound detection devices in the water will pick that up instantly and we really do not need the engines at all to move the craft that is what the water elemental is for. Should be no issue for it to move it smoothly and without alerting any sensors as it should just seem like a current. As for the boat, I am okay with either I was going with that boat because its the one you wanted. If I felt the plan would have worked better with the other boat I would have included that but I think with the plan the size of those two boats will make no real difference. Now if you want to open the doors on the ship before we board it that is fine by me so do we add that to plan and do you still want to pre-start the engines or go with the smaller boat?"

Okey - we hide the boat with magic and get a water elemental to push it out. We are going to have a few days at sea, so it needs to be this one. Lets get to work!
OOC:
I looked up the boats
[ +- ] cabin cruiser
[ +- ] bowrider
OOC:
Step 1: spell casts to hide/make illusion of the boat
[ +- ] Trid Phantasm
I think we have a plan, now let's do it. Helios and Missy coordinate their efforts and spell casting to pull it off. Missy can concentrate on 2 spells at once.

I'll note 3 successes on the spell and 1 drain

Rolls

Trid Phantasm: Sorcery + Magic - (12d6)

(426121454161) = 37

Trid Phantasm: resist drain 4 - (10d6)

(5622431346) = 36

Having agreed on the plan, Missy began by casting an illusion of the Blue Escape. It was not too difficult for her to do so at all. The cabin cruiser was a standard shape, and it was night, so the boat's own visibility was somewhat hidden in the general darkness. They now had an illusion of the cruiser overlaid on the actual cruiser. Any camera or observer looking at the ship would see the illusion rather than the actual boat. So far, so good.
OOC:
Your Magic test is superior to the cameras dice. Gain 1 Edge.

With Missy springing into action, a bit to Helios' surprise, he adapts to the adjusted plan and has Arianr make them all invisible as he moves stealthily moves to the boat and without leaving any trace of his passage as he does so. He makes sure that he keeps Missy in Arianr's line of sight as he moves.
OOC:
Concealment (1 Task 3 remaining) = Improved Invisible Rating 3

Okay now I have to ask with Missy placing the Trid Phantasm on the boat already does this mean Helios has to over come the the Illusion to see the real boat underneath?

BedzoneII sent a note to DeJoker
As easily as Missy's illusion spell covered the boat, Arianr's powers had no difficulty cloaking herself, Helios and Missy from anyone viewing them. She effecively rendered them invisible, even to the cameras. The magic however, still allowed them to see each other. This permitted them to move towards the Blue Escape confidently without fear of detection. They now stood at the pier next to the boat, ready to board it.

Okay I will ask again ;) -- with Missy placing the Trid Phantasm on the boat already does this mean Helios has to over come the the Illusion to see the real boat underneath -- or can she make that selective or temporarily modify it so Helios can easily see the real boat?

OOC:
I'll rule that it entirely depends on how Missy cast the illusion. If @runekyndig wants to clarify the illusion I'll let him describe it more before I say whether Helios needs to overcome it or not.
Mar 10, 2020 9:39 am
OOC:
Since Helios knows of the illusion, he will be inclined to disbelieve it right away.

But guys, we are in analysis-paralysis mode now. We have a plan to get the boat out of the harbor.
I would suggest that we roll that ever skill rolls needed, and get on with it
Mar 10, 2020 10:02 am
OOC:
So go ahead and move along. I understand @dejoker says his next step is to board the boat? Since the boat illusion is exactly overlaid where the real boat is (I assume that's the plan all along), I see no problem with Helios and/or Missy boarding the boat and do not need a roll for that. You may move to entering the inside of the boat, but maybe the doors are locked or there's a security system, etc
Mar 10, 2020 10:48 am
Missy suggests that they stay outside of the cabin until they are free of the harbor. If there is a security system in place, it will probably be rigged to the doors and/or the ship controls. Once out of the harbor, missy will drop the Mask she was wearing, so she looks her normal self (and have one less spell to concentrate on)
Mar 10, 2020 1:39 pm
OOC:
Hint: @runekyndig you do realise that Helios' spider companion has Improved Invisibility over Missy now, which means you don't need your Mask.
